July 2011 code watch?

I have a question. We aren't going to Disney until next July but I thought I'd ask you all here since it's the same month. Usually I book my vacation about a year out. Everyone that is waiting for a code, do you already have your reservations and will just apply a code if/when it comes out or are you waiting for the code before booking? Thanks.

We go in July every year. Two years ago the codes for summer didn't come out until May :scared1: We actually waited and were able to get a room category that only has a select few of those types of rooms on property (BWI Deluxe Club Level,) so don't panic. It IS sometimes possible if you wait :)

I have booked a few times in April and May and still got exactly what I wanted.

I always wait until I get a code before I book - last year we booked in March for July with free dining code and this year I just booked in February for July with a free dining code also.

Here's the problem I see with people booking early and then waiting and hoping for a code. I've received a large number of PINS in the past that are always only available during certain months. I'm a teacher, so they're always during school and I can't use them. I emailed Disney in January when I got my most recent one and just asked about the discount code process and asked about this summer. They responded and said that they release discounts and codes based on the percentage of rooms booked. Therefore, if we all book in hopes of a code, I feel like Disney will look and see that they're booked and then won't release a code. What do you think? Maybe I'm overthinking it ;)

This is incorrect about 2009. We did the buy 4/3 Free for the last week of June 2009. That discount came out in november of 2008. I know this for a fact because we took my parents as a 40th anniversary gift to them. We booked the trip and gave it to them a week later at their anniversary party in November. For the last week of June 2010, I received a 40% off code in December of 2009.

We fortunately got a 30% off discount for our June 2011 Last week of June) stay at the GF when I booked back in October of 2010. The CM could not tell me if it was a code or not, but just said "I have a better offer than what you have". I am thankful for this even though I was hoping for 40% off. Right now I will take the 30% off because discounts for those last 2 weeks of June do not look very promising!!!!!!!

You're reasoning makes sense but I'm just thinking about all the people that have said on here that they'll cancel they're on-site plans if a code doesn't come out. Maybe when they see people dropping out, they'll offer a code. This just seems awfully late for them to do so. I'm very disappointed.

Yes, I apologize! We stayed in 2009 with the Buy 4/3 deal too! I was just mindlessly copying from Mousesavers and not THINKING, :rotfl:

We booked the GF for 7/18-7/25 in hopes of a PIN. We do have a PIN, but not for that time. Last two years we had a PIN in July for our trips, but not yet. I'll keep my fingers crossed. It would sure save us a lot of money with any discount!

Good luck to all!

I don't know if how many rooms are booked REALLY has to do with the PIN codes or not. It would make sense that they do.
But, our last trip, I made a reservation for the cabins in November with my AAA discount. In December, I received a personal PIN code via email. :confused3 Maybe they were trying to get me to stay longer and spend more $$ in the parks??

Gentle reminder: The sharing of non-public PIN associated codes is NOT permitted on the DIS as per the DIS Posting Guidelines : http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm

I got the same pin that doesn't apply to summer AGAIN! ARRRGGGG!! I am hoping for those discounts next week.

I got that email, too! When I initially saw it in my inbox I got all excited and then when I opened it was disappointed.
