July is not looking good for discounts.

Yeah....I am kind of thinking the same thing....I have the Dolphin booked for 6/30 thru 7/8 and today I figured I'd add my last two nights on at a MK resort. I asked for anything with the AAA discount. All that was available for only 2 nts 7/8 - 7/10 with OR without the AAA discount were two room categories at GF. I thought that was strange. I have NEVER had such a small selection of rooms - even if I book 2 wks out. I was hoping to do my whole stay at an MK resort with an AP discount. Doesn't look promising.

Well, I had to edit this because I just tried booking online checking in July 6 to the GF AND the Poly and both came up with all room categories available for 7/6 to 7/10. THey do not show availability if I wanted just the two nights starting on July 8 - 10, though. I guess as long as it's not VALUE season WDW will let me have the room for my two nights... (frown) That is kind of crummy.

Since when is a WDW trip cheap? Everytime we go we say we will try to keep the costs down but we end up spending a small fortune. DW is already talking about another tirp within the next year and how we should consider buying an AP. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE WDW and look forward to going. But "cheap" and WDW do not go hand-in-hand. JMHO Jay

If you planning on 2 trips within 1 year an AP will definitely help with the cost. That's what we do. The second trip always seems like such a bargin.

Comparing to other vacations WDW is cheap. I can't find anywhere that only costs around $60 day for complete entertainment like I can at WDW. We go about 30 days a year so an AP is great. It works out to be about $12 a day. A bargain at $60 and an even better bargain at $10. Cheap is all about perception. What you think is expensice might not be what someone else thinks is.

Comparing to other vacations WDW is cheap. I can't find anywhere that only costs around $60 day for complete entertainment like I can at WDW. We go about 30 days a year so an AP is great. It works out to be about $12 a day. A bargain at $60 and an even better bargain at $10. Cheap is all about perception. What you think is expensice might not be what someone else thinks is.

I didn't say WDW wasn't a good "value", otherwise we would not go as often as we do. Daisy, you must live nearby to go so often. The rest of us have to pay for airfare and hotel rooms in addition to food and passes and that is where it gets expensive. If you don't live within driving distance, you can not consider a WDW vacation "cheap". But if you are comparing it to other traveling type vacations it is a good value for the money it costs. that is why we will be back again in June and probably again within the next year. Jay

I am booked at the Poly for 7/10-7/16 and have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I am paying the price that I booked at and no other discounts are going to come up. I booked AAA discount so at least it's not rack rate! I was hoping for a good code or discount, but I'm happy that i'm going.

I have booked July 22- Aug. 3 at POP for DH,ME,DS10 DD7 with 7 day hopper and dining plan with CAA for $3818.98US. I think that is a good deal??What do yo think?

I'm seriously going nuts! My June trip is a sort of "bonus" trip this year, since I already have one planned for October. A lot of if I'll actually do it or not rides on AP rates! (Because if I do do it, it has to be super, super cheap!)

Hello to Kimberling City, MO! We usually make 2-3 trips every year to your neck of the woods. I've been in love with Table Rock Lake and Silver Dollar City since I was a wee little thing.

We booked this week for CBR 7/11 thru 7/18 and are hoping for some type of discount. But we did get airfare through Southwest nonstop for $522 for four adults roundtrip. We couldn't pass up the cheap airfare.

Awesome price for 4 adults.....I am watching the Ding for a good price for 4 of us also. Either from Buffalo or Detroit. We flew out of Detroit last year for $786.36 CDN for 6 of us. If I don't get good prices we will drive, my hubby wants to drive doesn't like flying but he will if I make him....lol which will only be if we get good flights because I want a car this yr. Last year we were there for 12 days with no car.....me no likey!!!

30 days is a "tad" longer than the average vacation, though. You don't get the average WDW vacation for $60 per day (airfare/transportation, lodging, food, park tix).

It is actually very expensive compared to many other destinations.

You're right though that depending on how frequently you go, there are ways to mitigate the expense.

I wish you guys didn't get into this per day cost thing. I decided to add up our per day cost for 1 full year of Disney. Last year we stayed 18 days, 14 days were at AKL & WL, so deluxe resorts, & 6 days at AKL in Dec. This year we will be using the same APs in June (purchased last year in July) for POFQ for 21 days (2 10 night ressies). Assuming only getting the AAA rates we have now.

With dining, airfare (from Philly), car rental, dinner theaters (2 last year, we will do 2 this year), Sea World APs, souveniers (this year yet to be tallied ), & miscellaneous...it cost us $262. per day.

Thinking about it... that's not too bad I guess. It just seems like A LOT!

I live in Maryland. I too pay for airfare in addition to the hotel. I still consider it a bargain for what you get.

I don't go for 30 days straight. I take two weeks or so in June and another 2 weeks in October. Sometimes we throw a week in December in there too. I was talking about just the park tickets for $60. I know it costs more then that but you will need the food and hotel at any other destination too. I go to the ocean every summer for a couple of weeks. We stay at a Holiday Inn that we pay over $400 a night. We still have to buy food too. We also have to spend a lot of money on entertainment each day. It is more expensive then going to WDW and staying at the Poly! If I were to add up each day in WDW including food, AP, and hotel it would be around $600 a day give or take. That same vacation at the ocean would be about $700 a day. So for us WDW is cheaper.

Well....I'm about ready to give totally up on a discount for mid June.

Although, I do kinda have some hopes as the CM when I booked told me that there will probably be one out in two months. I booked about a month ago.

Just one little frayed thread of hope left...
