July 2007 Rate/Code Watch

Looking at historical dates plus what's in the Passholders Special Offers currently, I'm not expecting to see the next round of AP discounts until mid-May. (I hope I'm wrong)

I just gave up free dining and switched my dates to July 9th -17 at the GF..I'm hoping for a code

I called this afternoon, around noon. Nothing yet and the CM didn't seem to want to give any "hints" although I'm sure she knows nothing. I decided to go ahead and book my resort of choice, the Poly, with a AAA rate. I got it but she said there were only a few left at the AAA rate. I'll still subscribe to this thread and hopefully we'll know something soon. She said if a discount code came out I could absolutely switch it. Our dates are 7/21 - 7/28.

We were going to stay at the Swan for the $179.50 rate but I've decided that this year I'm staying at the Poly. No matter what. The AAA discount is 15% so it is $279 per night, plus tax of course. That's $100 more a night than the Swan for a total of $700 more for our trip (minus the $56 we would have to pay for parking at the Swan). We've decided the Poly is worth it.
We haven't stayed there since 2004.

Can you tell I'm excited?

Anyway, I asked the CM to see if a profile or pin was attached to my name and she sort of snapped "no!" Oh well.

Here's hoping for something.....

I had a really nice Cm when I called today. She checked for any possible discount (pin code, pop up whatever) unfortunately I didn't have any. I already have AAA rate and asked if she knew anything about AP rates. She said they really didn't know until that date but the feeling of the CMs was that there would be June/July APs and they would be released within the next few weeks. Take it for what it's worth, with a grain of salt, but it gave me hope!

I'll take whatever hope I can get. Thank you! You were luckier than me with the CM today. Mine was very friendly at first, but when I started asking questions and it seemed I knew what I was doing, she changed her tune. She also said to me, "We get hundreds of calls every day asking about the summer discounts." Well, she'll just have to put up with that...it's her job. Bless her heart.

Oooh, I'm hoping that the CM was right...I'd love an AP rate at the Polynesian (where we are booked) or at the GF - I might switch if the rate there is better than our AAA rate at the Polynesian.

I will be checking this thread daily for the next few weeks!

I am green with envy!!! I want so badly to return to the Poly this summer. Trouble is we need 2 rooms because we are bringing 2 of DD's friends and I can still stay deluxe at AKL standard with AAA rate for about $1500 less than the Poly. Oh well, one more excuse to go back!!!!!

You most certainly can. Just call CRO (Disney Central Reservations) back and tell them you would like to apply a code/discount to your reservation. They will make the necessary adjustments and give you the new price.

It will also depend on whether they have any more rooms at the discounted rate available. So if you get a code and call to have it applied and they can't do it, this is why. Everyone else will have already gotten them. So when you see a code, call immediately.

I do have a question, I read on another post about an "upsell". Does the Yacht Club allow 5 in a room or is it only POR and POFQ?

Yes YC allows 5. You would have 2 queen beds + a day bed

I call every morning to see what is available with AAA rate. It seems to change every day. If I here any thing this thread will be 1st. to know

I'm calling every morning to try and switch my AAA rate to either AKL or preferred view at CBR. Of course, I always ask about July AP rates first. I'm just sure we're going to see some discounts soon!
