July 20, 2014 - 4 nights on the Dream

Hi! My entire family is taking this cruise for the first time. While we are very excited, we are also nervous because we are new to this and don't want to miss out! I am hoping someone can answer a few questions, but the main one is the entertainment....do we need to book shows or are times assigned to us based on dinner? Also, what is the fish exchange I am reading about? Anything else a newbie should know....looking forward to this!
Kathy

P.S....just reread posts and I am so new, I am calling this whole fish thing by the wrong name! Woops! :(

No worries, there are still many things I am learning about with this my 3rd Disney cruise. It is all part if the fun!

You do not need to book the shows as you will just go to the show that does not conflict with your dinner time.

The fish extender is a small gift exchange you can sign up for and participate with other families on the cruise almost like hanging stockings out at Christmas. You can find very detailed information about it searching here in DISboards or on Facebook and our list for this cruise is on our Facebook page. I think it is currently full but there still may be people interested in a second group forming.

Hope no one forgot that today was PIF date! :sad2: And online check-in for us first-time DCL cruisers is open at midnight (eastern) tonight. I'll be staying up...thankfully it isn't exactly past my bedtime.

Welcome aboard!! Like HeddyRuth said, there's a ton of information here on the DISboards and on Facebook about all the to-dos including the fish extender exchange. We did just fill up the first group, but I can start a waiting list and if there's enough interest, a 2nd group could get going.

We're a little more active on the FB group. If you use it, you can find us here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/515259905196101/

Thanks Deb! We are super excited and I will go to the FB page as well. Yes, please keep us on the waiting list for the FE. I tried contacting you privately, but I haven't made ten posts to do that! :-/ If a second group forms, please let me know. Thanks so much for your help!

I've been asked about starting a 2nd group for the FE exchange. If there's interest, I'll be happy to keep track. And if you're already in group 1, but ALSO want to be in group 2, that's doable. :)

Your attention, please! :rotfl:
:stir:

After much thought (and lost sleep), I've decided that we are going to open up a NEW fish extender exchange group. I will NOT split the current group because some have already put in much effort and there is no right or fair way to make the split.

Please add your family to this linked spreadsheet. If you are in Group 1, feel free to join Group 2 as well. :artist: We will close it in a few weeks to ensure everyone has time to finish their projects.

As always, don't hesitate to PM me with questions! :surfweb:

Hello all!!!

Not sure who is here only and not on Facebook, but I am trying to schedule a meet and greet for everyone so we can see everyone's faces. I am thinking at 2:15 in the vista cafe so we will avoid the dvc meet shortly thereafter as well as the spa raffle at 3.

Please let me know if you would like to join and you are on here only.

Thanks!

Heatger
