July 20, 2013 - Western on Fantasy

Sorry if I missed it farther up in the thread - but are we planning a meet for embarkation day?

I don't think there is one planned yet. We are doing a private mixology class on the 1st sea day if you are interested.

Cheers!

Thanks! I put in for mixology on our fb page. But since that is adults only I wondered if we were doing anything else. I also will have my 13 yo dd with me and thought there might be some teen for her to connect with. She tends towards boy be very sociable - so hoping if she connected with someone she might be inclined to at least give the tween club a try this time around.

Neither of mine have been interested in the clubs on their own before, so I would love for them to meet a few kids to hang out with there or somewhere. There seem to be quite a few 10-13 year old boys which could be really fun for them. Should we try to plan some way for the kids to meet early on?

Basketball game!
My 11 year old boy would love it!

Yes to this! My 12 year old boy (who still does not know we are going on this cruise, BTW) would love it! How can we make this happen?

WHAT IS THE BEST DOLPHIN EXPERIENCE ON WESTERN CARIBBEAN??

We are going on the Fantasy on July 20th and can book excursions soon. My kids are 5 and 8. Any other recommendations for 2 boys on excursions??

Costa Maya?
Cozumel?
Grand Cayman?

Thank you for the help!! Can wait to get on the Fantasy in a few short months!

We are scheduled for the dolphin encounter at Cozumel.

This is our second Disney Cruise (Magic last year out of NY). Range in age from 6-72. we'll have 2 in Oceaneers club/lab, 1 in edge and 3 in vibe.

Went online to book my Mother's Day gift of the dolphin swim in Grand Cayman this morning and it's sold out. Anyone with experience at the Costa Maya dolphin swim and/or encounter?

My 11 yr. old by would like this.

Basketball is a great idea! Do you think we can meet on embarkation day at the basketball court? I would like for the girls to be included too. I think there were several around DD15's age. The Fantasy will be new to us, so I don't know how well that would work, but it seems like it should. I also did a lot of reading about the kids clubs. On the first night after the late dinner, there is a meet and greet in the Edge and Vibe (?). Lots of posters felt that was important for the kids to attend in order to feel like a part of things from the start. Even though they are sociable, mine probably wouldn't want to just walk into that alone, so meeting first would be great.

Are most of us on the FB page? Not sure if I need to post both places about this or just here or there.

Would love to meet up. I haven't been on the Fantasy - is there any shade up there on the sports deck?

What would be a good time to meet up? My dd didn't go the first night on our last cruise and I also think she would be more incline to go I she had a buddy first.

This is our first Disney Cruise and we are very excited! Several friends have told us about the fish hooks and dis boards....trying to connect with people.?!?! How do I do that?

Hi, welcome!! You found the DISmeet, and this is where we all started. We also have a facebook group going if you are interested, that is where a lot of current planning is happening... beer exchanges... meetups for the kids etc... it is easier to communicate together en masse on FB as opposed to the DIS. Are you on facebook? If so, then to get into the group you need to friend request (Aimee Gromowsky) and she can add you in... then if you want you can hide or unfriend her... as well as invite any one else you would like. We try to put things also here on the DIS, but this is a slower... one person reply at a time format. Traveling as adults alone? or with kids? It is our second Disney cruise... and I am cruising with my DH and kids: DD(12) and DS(18).

Can't wait... do you know about pirate night? pirate:

Hi everyone! Our trip has been booked and this is our first disney cruise. I know their are a lot of people registered through this thread, but my questions are:
How can I sign up for the fish hooks? My daughter is 4 and is very excited. And my second question is, anyone traveling from Ford Motor Co?
