Nancy, what show are you going to see? Tarzan? We have tickets--for AUGUST. ACK. I hate waiting.

We'll be at Palo on semi-formal night at 6, so if anybody wants to stop by and say hi to the gang (10 of us), we'll be the ones with pina coladas.

I can't believe it's under the 50 day mark. Trying to find matching outfits for the kid cousins. Found them at "twice as nice" Cute and GREAT prices too.

Hello everyone!

My wife just booked us on this cruise:

Myself (the Ottawacruiser)
DW
DS (17)
DD1 (15)
DD2 (12 - almost 13).

We are coming down from Ottawa, Canada and this will be our 4th cruise.

Looking forward to it!

Regards to all,
... Mike (the Ottawacruiser)

Welcome Mike and family! We are becoming a world wide group. :thumbsup2 Scott and his family are coming in from Scotland. How fun! I can't wait to meet everyone. We haven't set a time and place for the meet yet, right? Let me know when we do!

PATTI- I think YOU should pick a time/place!! ::yes::

I was thinking of making laminating a green MM paint chip with my DIS name inside so we can recognize a fellow DCL nut when we see them. What's the norm? Last DC was 2/01.

Welcome also Mike!! I too have a DD who is 15, and one of these days soon, she will actually have the time to e-mail all these "cruise teens" before we leave! Oooh, I can't wait already! I have really reached that "I need a vacation already" stage!!

Mattmommy, we are going to see Phantom of the Opera. I actually wanted to see Lion King, but decided so late that we just could not get very good seats. I asked Melissa what her second choice was, and she has always wanted to see Phantom, and I got fabulous seats: something like 6 or7 rows from the stage. She is pretty psyched. Tarzan didn't appeal to us for some reason: maybe I kept thinking of the AK show which was not one of our favorites. :sad2:

Anyway, really looking forward to meeting all of you guys!! Let's get this meet planned!! :Pinkbounc

Your dd will love Phantom. It has great music (as I'm sure you know). I too was not a fan of the park Tarzan. LK is still tough to get after all these years, but worth the wait. I worked at B&B for four years and have to say it's my favorite. It's just sad that they moved it from the Palace because the set was more elaborate.

Where are you going to eat? If you're venturing away from b'way try Jekyll & Hyde. I believe HRC has opened in their new location. You can also try restaurant row on 46th for some great food. I haven't been to the city since February.

I can't believe it's getting closer. Just bought more tops at Old Navy that I really didn't need. But they were sooooo cute. And possibly don't need to be ironed.

Hard Rock in Times Square is open. I ate there when I was in New York back in December. It's very nice and very big. Definitely a good Hard Rock! Supposedly Tarzan and LeStat are getting bad word of mouth. I see Disney Visa members can get Mary Poppins tickets now, and I think they go on sale Sunday to all.

I saw Spamalot out there (missed the Chicago original production!). It is great. Going to see the touring company here in town tomorrow. If you have a free day in NYC, try the ticket booth on Times Square too - if you get there early, there isn't usually a line and you can get cheap tickets to all but the hottest shows.

Alexa and I saw Beauty and the Beast when we were in NYC last summer! Just HAD to see Disney you know!! :Pinkbounc We loved it! Can't wait to go back!
I would love to see Phantom also!

PATTI- when/where is the meet! :thumbsup2 I've put you in charge you know! :teeth:

Ummmm, Lisa, I think you have forgotten one very important fact......I am the only one in this group that HASN'T been on a cruise yet! :lmao:

Here is a quote from Deb on a prior post: Anyone scheduled the meet yet? I think it is usually on the starboard side of the top deck overlooking the sail-away party.

I haven't heard from her. I know they moved a couple of weeks ago, and having moved 13 times myself, I know the chaos that follows a move! She will show back up soon. :Pinkbounc

Summer has hit Nebraska! 88 today, and in the 90's by next week. I plan to finish the swimsuit shopping, then start on the stuff other than clothes that we need. I'll be buying sunscreen by the pallet!

42 days!!! We will be in the 30's by Monday! :cool1:

I didn't realize we had a newbie cruising with us. I hope DCL lives up to the hype, but I guess by now you know the good and the bad.

Out of the 14 in our group 9 are new to cruising altogether and ds5 was only 6 months on his last one.

We all have to look into when we want to rebook (is there any doubt about rebooking?). They didn't have this option our last time and my dh and I love Disney in general so we can be swayed.

When I heard about the weather in NE I was hoping you could send some, but it seems you have similar weather to us. 75 one day and 40 and rainy the next.

Last time I checked here, it was 91! Oh joy! NOT!! :sad2: I can't afford to run the AC all the time this early in the season! :furious:

Okay Patti, we'll let Deb decide!! Actually the place sounds fine, we just need a time!
OMG we will be at Disney-MGM studios 6 weeks from today! :Pinkbounc I'm totally freaking out now! Oh and shall I mention we will be sweating to death also!! :sad2: I knew there was a reason I vowed never to go to Orlando in the summer again............hmmmmmm, looks like that vow did not last long!

I'm think I'm good for dinner attire except for formal and semi-formal so we'll see?! Have stuff I could wear for those nights......just not sure I want to! ;)

Ok, we all know the shuttle launch is supposed to be 7/1 at 3:58. I read on another thread about traffic. Does anybody have any info on that? We have FL tours picking us up at 10 and relatives at the LaQuinta after that. Do we need to leave at some crazy hour? I'm thinking people will make a day out of KSC and then head to the viewing site. I heard traffic can be MILES long.

Hey gang--I am trying to get DSL hooked up in my new house--moved last weekend--so I am hit or miss for emails and boards.

The time of a dismeet may not be as important. It is more the place that is the important part of it all. I believe it is more a general "during the sailaway party" kind of thing. If there is anyone in particular you want to meet (ie kids same age kind of thing), then agree amongst yourself's for the best time range to show up.

Remember, this is a vacation--time schedules go out the window. I will probably head up after the drill to the spot chosen. Has there been a spot chosen? I skimmed the thread and don't remember seeing it.

Put on those Green Mickey's before you hit the terminal. You may be lucky to catch up with eachother even there.

I can't believe it is so close.

Hi There,
We will be on the 7/1 cruise! We can't wait. It's me, dh, dd (10 - almost 11) and ds (9). They would both love to have some friends to hang out with. Abby does not really want to hang out with Trent, from what I gather. She's looking forward to the Ocean Quest to get away from him!
Have to go now, but wanted to check in quick!

Sorry to be responding so late to this: we were out of town at a wedding this weekend:

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't really know where to eat! :confused3 We get up to NYC maybe every other year, so ideas are welcomed!! We will only have the one night, as we are heading back Sunday morning for a graduation party of a good friend. So, meals are basically lunch and dinner on Saturday. We are staying at the Loew's Regency (on DVC points). :Pinkbounc

Can't believe we are nearing the one month mark: OMG, we have so much to do!! My list is growing, and unfortunately at this point, I am adding more each day than I am crossing off!

Interesting thought about the launch: we are so excited that it is still on, but yes, I thought about the traffic issue too. I guess our thought about sleeping in a bit, and leasurely driving to the Port from WDW will go out the window if the schedule remains the same........which I am really hoping it does! We'll be up and going early that day!! :moped:

As for warm weather.........PLEASE send some this way already!! :sunny: I really like hot weather, and these days of wind, clouds, and just plain damp yuck are starting to get on my nerves!!

BTW, Melissa my DD wanted to know if any of your teens signed up for the Castaway teen excursion: I seem to remember one of you mentioning it. We did not sign up for that one, so were wondering what your kids decided.

Welcome Georgianne!! :wave2: We're excited to have you join us!!

Welcome Georgianne! :wave2: We have a few kids in the age ranges of yours. Mine are a little older, 13 & 14. I think I have a niece who is 9 and turns 10 shortly after the cruise.

I'll butt in on teen excurison question. That was one of the excursions we didn't get. So they are doing parasailing and the banana boat instead. They were really bummed about not getting on the excurison, but I think the parasailing helped them get over it. :lmao: You know those overly emotional teens! They are either laughing, crying, or throwing a temper tantrum. :sad2: Just like having 2 year olds again.

My list is getting slightly shorter, but I remember something new everyday! :scared1:

Sara had her impressions taken for her retainer yesterday, she gets her braces off on the 31st! :woohoo: Jess, unfortunately, has to wait until 2 days before we leave to get hers off. She was NOT happy! :furious:

It's getting hot here! I think 88 today. DH turned the air on when he got home last night, then slept with the sliding glass door open. :confused3

I better go pick the little darlings up and get them to school. They get out Friday, so this is the last week I will have to hassle with this! :woohoo:
