sorry JoAnn #2 - when you are stationed in Hawaii, I'll be there, ok?:yay:

Figi maybe, the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic...But no Hawaii - we can only go to Foreign countries or DC.

Although Uganda is the home to the Jane Goodall mountain gorillas and on Beautiful Lake Victoria...

Would you believe that I do, in fact, have one friend who has visited me at EVERY post I've ever had in the Foreign Service?

How about something more inviting. The house inside and out...

Or here's the chicken guy Joann2 was talking about. Live chickens!

And sorry, but I love the bats. Here's one grabbing a drink.

We took a trip to Mali (our neighbor to the northeast [edit: that should be northwest]), and found some exhilerating scenery. Here's Joann2 and DD5 looking out over the Bandiagara Cliff dwellings.

Let me just say, "Wow!" again for the pics (except for the bat one!)........Your home looks beautiful (and the pool) so I can't imagine the dust issue...........it's immaculate!:goodvibes

Yeah - that was right after a very thorough cleaning - and about 2 years ago - so the furniture was still white. Now, whoever decided it was a good idea to put white furniture in a house with three young children and in a country with red dust - really needs to be reassigned to other duties - not a good decision.

And don't feel bad about not wanting to visit - I couldn't get my folks here either. They only agreed to come as far as Paris. :confused3

:grouphug:once again..........AMAZING pictures!!!!!!!!!:surfweb::surfweb:

I don't think I could live in a foreign country like that, but I would like the "staff"!!!!!:rolleyes1

Ok, this may be hard to see (it's much more dramatic seeing it live), but this is looking out into our yard during a wind and sand storm.

A few more, if you can take it. These are from our neighbor to the east - Niger.

Almost done for tonight. I thought the teacher crowd might like to see the International School of Ouagadougou.

The main administrative building.

First day of school on the brand new basketball court. This is the whole student body, grades pre-K through 12.

Changing the subject a little - I can't wait - I should be getting my FE gift supplies tomorrow in the mail!!!! I've got a lot to do, so I need to get started.

We only get mail 2x a week, so it's a big event!
