I think we're 90 days if we've paid in full. The other one is for concierge people. I've been reading up on our ports. The excursions look really nice but I bet we could do some of them on our own. I've taken the ferry to St. John and it's affordable and not that much of a hassle.

That might work better as I don't know if we could do St. Thomas and St. John in one day if we do the DCL excursions. We've never been to either island and want to see both.

Usually, they dock there for a long time b/c most people like to shop there. The ferry runs, I believe, about once an hour at Charlotte Amalie to St. John and then once every 30 minutes from Red Hook. You can walk to CA, but need a cab to RH. The taxis like to wait until they are full to take you places so if we can get a group together, we could probably save time. It's the same when you get to St. John. I'll look into the suggested "not-to-be missed" spots in St. Thomas. I've seen some of them, but there's a few that I know I've missed.

I think we will, too. They say only an inch to three. But it should clear for the ball to drop tonight. Although the temps are supposed to drop as well. Here's hoping for just a little dusting of snow.

We are heading out here in a while to visit MIL/FIL for our family Christmas. It's a long haul!

Ok, I shared my story........what was everyone else's highlight from the holiday??

My highlight was having my son and daughter-in-law here from Houston ( they flew in Christmas Eve) and my sister and her family here form Virginia.( they came Christmas day). It was the best Christmas. My son left Monday and my sister left yesterday. I'm sad it's over but we have wonderful memories.

My van has the remote start and I love it. I know you'll enjoy it.

Tonight we're staying home. My daugher is having a few friend over and my mom is coming. My son is going to his girlfriend's.

We're home tonight ...I don't like going out New Year's Eve, never have.

It is FREEZING cold here tonight, the wind is awful . Now it is only 10:07 and I'm headed to bed.....don't know the last time I saw the new year come in.

Now that the holidays are over, we can start planning our cruise....can't believe it is less than 7 months away - can't wait to meet each of you. Hope we soon hear from the others we haven't heard from since the beginning of the thread

Happy New Year All!

We spent a quiet evening last night with friends. John made clam chowder and oyster stew. We were home by 9:00 and in bed by 10:00. Maggie and Mike stayed up to watch the ball drop in NY. I didn't make it... We don't like being out on NYE either.

Ever since the kids were small, we've preferred New Year's Day to celebrate with a small group of friends. We used to hire a babysitter for the kids at one house while we were at another house. The kids loved having their own party. We were with one of the families last night because they are off to Dallas in preparation for the Cotton Bowl tomorrow. We're still looking forward to celebrating the New Year with more food and football!

Tom & I did the same, although we did manage to stay up to ring in the New Year. It was frigid at Times Square for the ball drop last night. We'd much rather watch it on TV.

I've got to tell you about a Pa. Dutch New Year's tradition - we MUST eat pork and sauerkraut, with mashed potatoes, on New Year's Day, for good luck. YUP, since I've been a little-bitty baby - had to have this meal on New Year's.....sure, there's been a few years when we've been away and didn't have our traditional meal - did it mean a thing? NOPE.....so, it was hot dogs and sauerkraut for dinner. (My oldest went for Chinese - smart kid!)....

AND, I've also got to confess, I'm NOT a football watcher, but tonight I did TRY to watch our Penn State team play in the Rose Bowl, until they started getting killed! I'm not a great loser
Turned the Disney Channel on, much more entertaining

Didn't tell 'ya - New Year's Eve we watched my favorite movie (got the DVD for Christmas) - Mamma Mia! I've seen the Broadway show twice, and up to #4 on seeing the movie.

Are most people back to work tomorrow? We've got another day off then it will be back to school for Tyler on Monday. Don't know HOW he will get out of bed next week - he has been sleeping till 11!

Greetings from NE Ohio! We are at my MIL/FIL house for our family Christmas. Here, too, Lucy they eat sourkraut and pork. I opted for spaghetti casserole because we eat that at home on other occasions.

I am doning my University of Cincinnati Bearcat sweatshirt for the Orange Bowl! Our dearest friends are there (the stadium at UC is named for our friend's uncle!). They invited us to go, but we didn't......dumb move. It's COLD here! They called from the beach today. Killin' me!

We didn't make it to midnight last night. The kids did and woke us up to wish us a Happy New Year, then we went right back to sleep!

Let's do some serious planning now! It's 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!
