Hey everyone. I haven't posted in a while but am happy to say that basketball is done and soccer is done and now the kids each only have 1 activity going.  (Baseball for the 3 DS's and drama for the HS DD) Tonight was the first night nobody had practice or a game in months!! :woohoo:
And i have a confession to make (as a relatively new poster to the dis board) - I am totally intimidated by all you old-hat friends. :worship: :worship: I can only be thankful that i have the opportunity here to meet some great ppl that I might be able to cruise with in the future
:)

Adventure Blond Boy.....STOP
do NOT feel intimidated
I only know ONE other person sailing - jlawall.....
I just LOVE to talk (as JoAnn will tell you) and even though I don't know anyone - i will continue to talk......
I think my experience of 3 years ago, talking on these boards before our trip, and meeting up with the people, was such a great time, i want to now continue chatting on this board too before our cruise!:grouphug:

OK, question - are you coming into Florida before our cruise, maybe a few nights at Disney - we could all meet up like we did before our 2005 cruise - met one night in the hotel.......:confused3 :confused3

Feel better? :flower3:

Our spring break isn't until 4/19 BUT we are going to WDW.

The kitchen is painted and the tile guys are here laying the tile. Now tell me if these aren't the stupidest people you've ever heard of. Yesterday they laid the tile on the steps and landing going to my back door. When the left they said I couldn't walk on it. That meant I had to take the dog out the front door and walk him around back. OK a little inconvenience. When I walked around to lock up the back door I found that they had removed the back door and didn't put it back. I had no way to lock up the house. I called them immediately and they gave me excuses as to why they did it. I didn't care why I just needed a back door. They came back and managed to get the door on without stepping on the newly laid tile.

Ok Ok am feeling the love:hug:
but no, will probably fly in the night before and stay at the airport hotel. I guess i should have looked into the disboard when we went on our first cruise but well, didn't know you all existed. Hmm i haven't been to WDW since 1992 though so maybe am due for a trip ;)

due for a trip - even if it is 2 days - can you spare them? We would love to meet up - the Williams family will show you a time like you've never experienced at WDW - know this place inside and out! PLEASE try!:worship: :worship: :worship:

Saw one of our group was staying at Saratoga (our home DVC) - i would like to try to get a room there too and meet up - anyone else?:confused3 :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

We've only previously sailed with one other family on this cruise (wvmd) - in the same boat - so to speak...

If our then to be freshman playing ds' summer marching band schedule cooperates, we're planning on hitting WDW before the cruise. The last time my dh, kids and parents were at WDW was in '99. I snagged a moms' only trip in '04. My brother, even longer, I think our last family trip was in '84 and his wife and son have never visited... It's gonna be a great trip...:woohoo:

we'll probably stay close to the port on Friday night - I like to be on the ship early... My brother thinks my dad is anal when it comes to a time schedule - the family hasn't seen anything yet... - but, it'll be every man for himself if they're not up and ready to go when the parks or port opens.... :lmao:

Honestly, we hardly know each other........we're just nuts!!

hahaha

Seriously, there is nothing like planning a trip on these boards......DISboards attracts really nice people......I originally joined to find out tips, save money, etc.............I gained some really wonderful friends around the country and world...some have stayed in touch and some we just have fond memories of..........one good thing about this is..........when you have a really special vacation and you're really depressed b/c it's over.........you can share your memories with your new friends and it doesn't hurt so much!

Yes! Great idea! I forgot we did this before we sailed in Mexico.......too funny, we met Lucy for the first time and she told us she was leaving for the ship at 9am........so we decided to go then as well...........and all of our taxis came before hers and she was flipping out........b/c then we decided we had to get the number "1" card (which apparently only goes to concierge guests).........so then we just wanted to beat Lucy there.........it was very "Amazing Race" a very funny start to our vacation!!! :cool2:

But, if I remember right - we DO have a Roy or Walt Suite DIS'er posting - all she has to do is say she has 50+ people traveling with her and we've got a #1 !!!!! ;)

Lucy LOST that race....it really started off our trip, didn't it Joannie, too funny, but what made ME laugh, Lucy DID get there last, but we ALL got the same boarding number:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

This is what we all have to look forward to....oh, i better book my transportation to the ship NOW:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

and another thing we did the first night, to meet everyone, everyone brought a grab bag from the area where they lived and exchanged gifts (had to be under $10)....
e.g. JoAnn's dad brought salt water taffey (from the NJ shore), I know i took something from the Pa. dutch area (i believe it was something like pretzels and something else - goodness, that was 3 years ago!), I know one of the girls brought everything sports from Cincinnati, our friends from England brought, goodness, i can't remember....but you see what I mean, what a fun night we had the first night on deck.

THEN, the last day on board we all did the wine tasting - talk about a great time....but, the last night on board we all met up and got a group picture and just sat around and there were many, many tears, right Joann?:grouphug:

Not that many?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Seriously, I was less sad than normal, it was the first time, that i knew I'd be seeing us again so I really wasn't as depressed as usual! We did have a great time, we met at the beginning of the trip and then we realized we liked each other so we kept hanging out....it was really great!!

Sounds Like fun Hmm I only have 16 months to figure out what to bring:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Hey JoAnn, where in Germany are you going to and you are visiting your daughter? right? Help my feeble memory please!

When do you have spring break anyway? Ours is after Easter, sounds like most of you have it the week before. But we will be staying here - DD got two more singing parts in her musical at the high school (aka High School Musical but not allowed to call it that anymore). One girl dropped out so they gave her parts to Laurel and rehearsals stop for no one hehe
Not to mention Baseball is in full swing (oops- a pun). This is my first year in 10 years of Little League that I won't have one in T-ball. Hmm, which smiley is more appropriate? :cool1: or :sad2:
