Snow Day here. I think I'm getting cabin fever. I am so sick of seeing white on the ground. Can we go on the cruise now??????

This is our first actual snow, we've had hardly any this year!

every school in the area is closed (picture this JoAnn #2, since you probably haven't seen snow in awhile ) - even the university in town closed - of course they never closed when I worked there.
Right now we are having freezing rain (that's icy rain for you JoAnn #2...sorry for picking on you this morning ) on top of snow...nasty.
Of course, they haven't closed the mall...they NEVER close malls, why is that? my DH must go to work at noon-9 today. Don't know how he is going to get out of the driveway...our borough pushes the snow in front of driveway, so we now have snow with ice on top.

Who else is home today (Monica I don't expect you to answer this )....if you are home today, let's talk cruising!

I just read the local online and it says we got three inches of snow, then an inch of ice, then another SIX INCHES of snow!!!!!

basically a good sleet buildup....it doesn't take much to shut us down! Schools are closed but most streets are just wet now.

We're here at school. Now it is heavy rain so we've got a ton of slush! EWWWWW. It's supposed to freeze tonight. Most of the public schools have Regent exams today. That's probably why school was in session. We don't have Regents, but if the busses run, we have school.

We have already called off for tomorrow! We got the most snow we have had in 13 years! It's the second most we've had at one time since the Blizzard of '78! We are just not equipped to handle this here........

I am stirr crazy already! Tomorrow I WILL do something!

Hello Everyone......finally got some snow but the ice is making life difficult. I'm sitting here typing as everything is sliding off the roof of the house crashing all around us. Sounds very loud. I guess we are having the same weather as everyone else. At least I have more time to read the Dis Boards. There are other things I need to do too, but I'm just not getting it done. And there is something about snowy days and my kids wanting to bake. Some recipes are more successful than others.

hehe! I do miss snow - but not the cold that comes with it! I grew up in Nebraska, so I've seen my fair share of snow days. The only thing that closes school here is civil unrest - lucky for us there hasn't been any of that this year!

Two-hour delay for our school district today (wasn't surprised)
Our buses have many country roads to travel and I hope everyone arrives safely. AND, NO (I shout) I did NOT allow Tyler to drive this morning - and I know what you are all thinking - he needs the experience, give him a chance He was angry with me (what else is new ....but I'm OLD, I am not BRAVE, in other words, I'm a chicken!

We had nine inches here as well. We are just not equipped to handle this kind of weather. The snow plow finally got to our street last night around 5 p.m. Some subdivisions were finished today. I am thinking the country roads are still in bad shape since we have cancelled already for tomorrow......

I need to get out of here!!!
