I know why i love Sat days so much. No 5:30 wake up! Y'all are up way too early for me. Going to spend the day finishing door signs, going to the farmers market for peaches and then making homemade pizza tonight.

Picked ds14 up from camp. His first words about camp were bacon for breakfast every morning...:lmao: He doesn't want mail next year - it was delivered during lights out check and he was already asleep... Teenage boys and their priorities.

He had fun and did a lot of interesting things, dragging the marshes, eating raw oysters (with our permission and under the supervision of an A&M professor who specializes in oysters...) dissected a fish and a shark. He's happy and wants to return next year...:cool1:

Hey! Is anyone ordering a tux for formal night? Has anyone done so before on the ship?

We've done this before for Nick - worked out well.... I'm probably not taking a Tux on this cruise - one of the few times that I haven't....

I want my DOCS:lmao: It may make me feel better. Just came down with a case of singles and it's not nice :headache: My DOCS would make me forget about them for awhile:scared:

We stayed at the Stricklands resort. Had our own "cabin". Unfortunately, by the time we arrived (after driving from WI) the cabin we had booked (yes it had a heart shaped whirlpool) was not available so we got an upgrade, this cabin was a bigger split level but the whirlpool was just a full size rectangluar shape. In fact is was so big that if we sat in opposite corners our toes barely touched.

I remember DH dropped the bubbles into the whirlpool - there was bubbly foam EVERYWHERE!! :rotfl:

OK, we did the same thing.........the young lady told us not to, so WE TOTALLY POURED THE BOTTLE IN THE HOTTUB as soon as we could!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Kelli - Thanks for updating everything! :cool1:

Looking at the FE list does Disney know something about Lucy we don't know? She's the only one on deck 5....:lmao:

Hi all! We're back in the U.S. now - finally. I am not looking forward to doing that trip again. YUCK!!!!

Not to bore everyone, so I'll only touch on the highlights (or should I say lowlights?:sad2:)

1) DH still recovering from bout with Malaria - tired, headaches, but officially parasite free according to Dr. and able to travel.
2) Cat decides to run away as we are loading the car - spend next two hours looking for her and finally had to give up and leave the country without her.:sad1:
3) DD7 doesn't travel well and left the proof all over DD5 half way across the Atlantic!
4) Forgot all DD2's pacifiers so she screamed for 3 hours on the overnight flight. I could feel the cold nasty stares from fellow travelers.:guilty:
5) Lost DD5 blue blankie, which she has had since she was born. :scared:
6) Mean flight attendent who refused DD5's desperate bathroom pleas before initial descent because we were preparing to land - we landed an hour and a half later because of weather delays.:scared1:

Good news - we didn't loose any luggage! :thumbsup2 Always a silver lining.

Glad I got caught up on the boards - we are really a chatty bunch!!! ;)

We did have docs waiting for us when we arrived - that was pretty cool!:woohoo:

But I'm confused - the second brunch group has confirmation, but nothing for the first??? :confused3

FE - prefer to go at our own pace (which means I need to step it up in order to get it all done). :flower3:

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer now! We're still handling jet lag - but enjoying all the wonderful shopping and food available here! Girls have all picked out their new bedroom stuff and got new shoes and some clothes. We have eaten McD's, BBQ, & Olive Garden. So much for that weight loss!!!:rolleyes1 Girls are begging for IHOP or Duncan Donuts tomorrow. We'll see....

Well, need to sleep! Talk soon!

Joann

OMG, sounds like a tough one.........I'm not home and won't be until tomorrow night........I'll check my phone messages and confirm our brunch as soon as I hear..........

My DD16 is packing to go to camp also. This is at the University of Texas in Austin. It is called First Bytes

http://www.cs.utexas.edu/~firstbytes/summercamp/

It is a one-week residential camp program for high school girls. It is designed to dispel myths about computer science and intrigue young women with the potential of computing and the excitement of problem solving.

They only accept 50 sophomore and junior level girls (that live in Texas) each year - and this year my DD was one of only 4 sophomore girls selected to attend.

It is completely paid for by grants and corporations, and hopefully shows these girls what a career in computer science might be like for them.

My DD is so confused as to whether to look at CS or Engineering - all she knows is that she loves math and science, and wants to do something with both of them. I'm hoping this week will at least give her an idea of what the CS side might look like.

Um... do I sound like a proud mom?

OMG, I think everyone has a bubble story. We started with a capful and when it didn't sudz we did another, and another. Needless to say the whole area around the tub and half the room was covered in BUBBLES!!! I still remember trying to carry armloads of bubbles to the sink, to no avail! We were too embarassed to call housekeeping so it took us over an hour to clean up the room. Never did get in the tub that day. We were too exhausted! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Congrats. Sounds like a great opportunity.

You should be proud!!!! This sounds great!!!

Just out of curiosity, how is everyone getting to the port that is not staying at the port?

We are taking the DCL bus from MCO. we are flying in in Saturday am. our flght should arrive at 9:40 am. I hope they will tell us n our docs where we will meet them.

Welcome home Joanne!! I hope you are getting some well deserved sleep.

That certainly is an awesome opportunity for you daughter at the science camp.

DH has ordered one this time around through the DCL contracted company. Hopefully all will go well.

DH did this on the Med and that tux looked like it was tailor made for him. I wish we could have purchased it from them. The high end tux he had for his brother's wedding couldn't hold a candle to the one from the one affiliated with DCL. This time he's going to skip the tux. The Caribbean is so hot that on the Western he only wore it for dinner and couldn't wait to get back into his tee and shorts. I did the same with my dress. The humidity is tough.
