At least you were able to get it straightened out. I found out that since we booked our cruise on a military rate, we will not be getting the $50 OBC from Disney Visa! I certainly never saw that anywhere in the fine print!

There will be no food. I recommend that you have lunch before you arrive. Topsiders Lunch will begin at 12, plutos and pinocchios will open at 11am, and topsiders will close at 2pm. please plan accordingly.

I think there might also be a Sunday Brunch at Lumiere's from 9am to 12:30pm.

If possible, we'd love to start to meet people at the sail away party, too, as mentioned a few posts back. Mostly 'cause I can pretty much guarantee we'd all be there whereas come Sunday at 12:30 it's gonna be a lot tougher to get all of us to the "official" meet . . . once my kids find that pool (DH, too for that matter!), it'll be next to impossible to tear 'em away!

I thought the lime green bracelet idea sounded like a winner . . . easy enough for those who want to be "spotted" to wear one Saturday (and the rest of the week for that matter!) and it would make for a fun and low-key way to meet fellow DISers early on in a very casual way.

Is anyone ordering a basket from Shirley? We always have in the past but now that he's 11 I wasn't going to. However last night he was all excited about building a HUGE sand castle at Castaway Cay and was hoping the other boys would want to help. So now I'm thinking I need to order the basket, I've always gotten the medium sand pail (which we then leave at the beach). To him I think it's part of being on the ship.

Oh, he was also disappointed in our upgrade ! He likes the big porthole window because it's so close to the water.

We are ordering baskets from Shirley. This cruise and actually the whole trip is a celebration for us of many things so we are trying to do everything to make it as special as possible. Hey I'm an adult and I love to build sandcastles and play in the sand it's part of being at the beach.

I totally played up the upgrade with the girls. I reminded them how much they loved the cabins we had last summer. And that we liked them so much, we requested the same kind for this trip. But, we got a phone call from DCL saying we couldn't have those cabins afterall...

We're getting a BALCONY!!!!

It took several minutes for them to calm down. But boy were they disappointed that we weren't getting the old cabins - until they found out they get a balcony.

Everytime I see statements like these it makes me pause. Since I too am a Shirley, I keep freaking about "Did I agree to make baskets? And why can't I remember?"


A few years ago when we were going to Kennedy Space Center after the cruise, Shirley had some discount coupons for us so we stopped by the shop to see her. She was so nice and helpful. The children enjoyed meeting her too and listening to her stories.
