What am I going to do tonight while I wait to pick up the kids for End-of-the-Year parties? Maybe I'll get some things done. That would be different.

I sent in a deposit for the next podcast cruise. Matt should be in college by then so it can be just a two some cruise.

I used a company online that I've used before and customized my FE gifts using my recent pics of the cruise region. I did use the advise from previous cruisers to make my decisions.:goodvibes

Are you teasing us? So not nice!! Noah loves to get my gift a couple of weeks before it's to be given (birthday, mother's day) and leave it on the counter. He thinks it makes me crazy.

Also, we have the opportunity to ugrade for $400 from a verandah cat. 6 to a verandah family stateroom. Is the extra 36 sq. ft. truly worth the extra $400????

Ultimately it's a personal decision on this upgrade. I was thrilled to pay $300 to be upgraded from a 9 to a 6 and get the veranda. I think I'd pass on $400 to go from a veranda to a veranda. There's only 3 of us and we have plenty of room in a 9 or a 6. Now if it was $400 for a category 3 - I'd be jumping on that!!

Also, I don't think your current room location should be a problem. It's not in direct line with the elevator area. I'd be concerned with 6560 or 6558.

i would not do it. If it was to a cat 3, yes, but all you are gaining is 36sq feet - it looks to me like you are gaining a chair to sit in (there is a picture of the stateroom at castawayclub dot com - just click on staterooms and then click on the cat 4 pictures. You could purchase the chair forever for $400 LOL!

...and here I thought you upgraded so we could be next to each other:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That was an added benefit of course!
I did find out why DH wasn't as excited about the veranda as I was. He said last time we had one he went out and someone was smoking close by, he had to go back inside. :confused3

I hope you like it!:goodvibes

Our room (and the peopel in it) do not smoke.. so that is a plus.... now he only has to worry about the other side...

I just read the funniest thing:

"Organized people are just too lazy to look for things"

So the DIs is back!!! :thumbsup2 I've been checking every 30 minutes for several hours and it finally came back up.

As for the upgrade - I have to agree with Noahsmom - upgrading from verandah to verandah is just not worth it in my book. But offer me a suite and we might have a deal! ;)

I have to run out this morning to get the final item for the FE gifts - I had to order the girls' piece cause they didn't have enough in the store when I went last week. Now if I can get all the custom pieces all made in time....:rolleyes1

How come we don't get to CC until 9:45:scared1::scared1:? That really cuts into my Serenity Bay time!!! Flounders is only open until noon!!!! :headache: I hope we get there earlier!

Hopefully we'll hear about the brunches this week:yay:.

Clearly, I didn't keep enough items to entertain the little ones out of the boxes. The books & coloring books just aren't cutting it...:sad2:

Oh well, we'll survive. Come on Wednesday!!!!!

Good Morning All!

Looks like the little subscribed thread notation is gone - I had to read through the thread to find ours.

We had a small discussion about this just a few minutes ago. I told DH that I was disappointed in his and Noah's reaction to the upgrade. We've had verandas before and I don't remember smoke being a problem. He then admitted that he probably dreamed it. :confused3 Whatever!

I'm happy you are next door to us, it will be fun to have someone we know so close.

Yes! That's how I easily find this thread. When I looked this morning and didn't see it I was amazed that no one would have posted yet. So I read the titles.

Currently we have stateroom 6564 verandah.

Be honest. It's around the corner from the mid-ship elevators. Is this a noisy cabin??.....a little concerned about late at night.

Thanks

You can read stateroom reports from previous cruisers here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomreport.cfm?Room=6564

Looks like the one about your room is positive. I agree that an upgrade would not be worth $400. It adds about 3-4 ft to the end of the room between the sofa and the veranda. In my opinion, that's only really useful if you are trying to sleep 5 in the room, as there is an extra fold-down murphy bed there. Now a free upgrade - that's another story.

Another consideration, is that your current room is near midship where there is supposed to be less ocean motion, and you're on the starboard side which many people seem to prefer for the views at ports (I think this can change depending on conditions, but it seems that at Castaway Cay the Startboard side usually has the view of the family beach while in port).

[Just an edit to clarify that this was posted my bigAWL (Aaron), DH of 3PrincessMommy. But I didn't notice she was logged in instead of me.]
