GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. Is it 5:00 somewhere?
48 hours until we are at the airport checking in. Right now our flight is 50 hours and 15 minutes away from departure! (not that I am counting!)
Okay, I'll see if I can put in my two cents worth on these:
Hi all,
Some of you have mentioned bringing dollar bills...do you plan on using them to tip on board the Magic, or in ports of call? Sandy
Alot of people bring dollar bills to tip room service, drink waiters, etc. FYI-now on the ship, you sign a room service paper just to show you got your order. They have added a tip line, so if you are short on dollar bills,
DCL has it all taken care of. No charge for the food from room service, but a tip line added for our convenience!
Welcome to everybody new!
We are now official out of food at our house. Asked mom if we were going to the grocery store to get a few things to get us till Monday. Her answer no, you can eat peanut butter. So I guess we will be living on PB&J's for the next few weeks LOL. Lissa
Well, at least you aren't on Big Brother Slop!
Retha,
So you are close in age to Gary and I. He's 64, I'm 56. We arrive Sunday morning too about 10:15 AM. We are staying at the Hotel Inglaterra. We will be doing the hop on, hop off tour bus on Monday and Tuesday. Doing a Segway tour Monday night at 5PM then going to a Flamenco show to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We'll look forward to meeting you next week.
Sandy
You'll love the Barcelona Tourista Bus. We did the two day pass in May and it was great. We will do a one day with our daugther this time. On Monday night when you do your segway tour, you will be hosted by Edgar. He is a great guy (and I must say, pretty good looking too). You are going to love the tour. Ask him if his new baby girl has arrived. His girlfriend was due this week. He will probably wonder how you know. Tell him Linda told you. We are doing the segway with him again on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Take your camera! It was a blast.
I'm going to do tips with dollar bills for things like room service and such. I can also keep track of it more easily than placing tips on my stateroom key because it would creep up "out of nowhere" on my bill at the end!

Also, the washing machines/dryers use quarters.
Those stateroom charges do add up, don't they? Especially after I have visted Treasure Ketch and done my onboard shopping. It's a good thing that the soft drinks are free, and that we don't drink alcohol. Helps to free up more money for those high priced DCL excursions!
Does anyone know if the food menus have changed significantly from the FLA-based sailings? Can we expect a more Mediterrenian based cuisine? Whatever they offer us, I'm sure it'll be gorgeous! Shaun
Yes, there is a mediterranean flare to the menus. We tried some of them on the crossing. Food was a little different, but was still great. Some of the menus were the same (Golden Mickeys, Sailaway, Pirate Night, etc.)
Well, 14 1/2 more work hours until I am officially on vacation. Got to get some payroll stuff done now.
I'll check back later in the day!
