Retha and gang - welcome! I added you to the FINAL FINAL list of who's traveling back on page 92. Glad to have you joining us. Check out the details of our DISBoard meets (links on the first page of the thread). Our first meet is on Wednesday an hour before the safety drill in the Promenade Lounge, and then a follow-up for those who might not make the first one (or just want to join in the fun for the second one) is on Thursday for lunch at Lumiere's at noon (Seaulater is coordinating that one). Hope you can at least come by to say "hey" to the rest of us DISers :)

Retha,
So you are close in age to Gary and I. He's 64, I'm 56. We arrive Sunday morning too about 10:15 AM. We are staying at the Hotel Inglaterra. We will be doing the hop on, hop off tour bus on Monday and Tuesday. Doing a Segway tour Monday night at 5PM then going to a Flamenco show to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We'll look forward to meeting you next week.

Sandy

Some of you have mentioned bringing dollar bills...do you plan on using them to tip on board the Magic, or in ports of call? Or are you going to tip with Euros? My DH thought Europeans would rather get Euros than Dollar bills?:lmao:

Sandy

I'm going to do tips with dollar bills for things like room service and such. I can also keep track of it more easily than placing tips on my stateroom key because it would creep up "out of nowhere" on my bill at the end! :rolleyes1 Also, the washing machines/dryers use quarters.

Welcome to all the newbies, we are glad you are joining in.

On the agenda tomorrow:

1. Hair cut and highlights for me
2. Eye brow wax
3. Work out! (by the way, do any of you all plan on working out on the cruise? I do!!)
4. Get our cash.
5. Do laundry:laundy:
6. Love on my sweet kiddos. ( They think mommy has been swallowed by the Disney Cruise monster)

7. Go to a suprise party!!
8. Try to finish my cruise book.

Update: My weird leg rash is gone, but my leg is burning (maybe a little too much hydrocortizone cream.) Hee, hee! My ear is still stuffy and if it still bugging me by Friday I will run up to the doctor.
This time next week we will be cruisin!!!!!!!

Greetings You all,

Just discovered the DIS Board in the last week and have found it very helpful to answer critical questions.
Wife and I will be joining the 7-18 cruise for our 25th anniversary!

So add us to the list

Magic 7-07
Wonder 9-07 - really we are going all 6 of our kids...thats another story :)

Hi Judah,:welcome: I just joined this past week. Look forward to meeting you next week!!

that's how much more time I have to give to the State of Florida before I can leave for vacation! Woo-hoo!!!!! That means tomorrow is a short day for me at work because our pay-period ends tomorrow and because of a holiday (the 4th), I can't earn comp time - which means I only have to work 5 hours and 15 minutes tomorrow - which means I'm banana-dancing  (gosh, I love that dancing banana!)

Here's to the last day(s) of work for all of us who still have a few hours to go.

On the agenda for tonight - work on more door signs - i have ones done for Palermo, Naples and Rome plus our main one. I want to do one for the other ports as well, and maybe Pirate night. Or something.

I found my to-do-list at work for the cruise and I was able to cross the last of it off - getting the Euros and making Door Signs. Woo-hoo!

Now to scrape together something for dinner with whatever is left in the frig. Wish me luck (hee hee).

I still have 3 more full days of work  Ordered my Euro's today, my bank said they will have them tomorrow!! Finished a few door signs and have a ton of laundry to do!!!:laundy:

5 days til we leave!!!

Whoa, all this talk of waxing!?!?! :scared1:

I'm a mere man....

Anyway, I've just started my Thursday workday, and I'm getting quite envious of those of you who are leaving today or very soon. We don't leave for another four days (but I guess the shorter flight is a decent trade-off).

Does anyone know if the food menus have changed significantly from the FLA-based sailings? Can we expect a more Mediterrenian based cuisine? Whatever they offer us, I'm sure it'll be gorgeous!

Keep safe everyone, and we'll see you on board (boy, does that sound good?)

Shaun

Sandy

The bills are just to use on board: never in the ports of call. Just remember that tipping is absolutely not usual in Europe, in most of the prices you'll pay the tips are included.

Greetings stuffy,
I ALWAYS travel on flights wth Sudafed and robatussin ( i can't spell ) pills (not the bottles) and I make sure it has the active ingredient guaffeniesein - again I can't spell this stuff very well - I have to get off to my 6 am mtg.
It keeps my head clear
See ya

Shaun - you're a riot! I told DH there are some things that men just don't need to know about (or ever witness).

As for the menues, I've read that they have changed some to reflect the mediterranean cuisine. Some of the previous sailings trip reports have mention of the meals. I love reading through trip reports :)

Laundry is going (2nd load in and it's barely 8 a.m.). Kids are still sleeping, I've got a work assignment underway (gosh, I love modern technology where I can use my work computer from home!). Haircuts are at 2:30 this afternoon.

Have a fantastic day!

Thanks a bunch Ben! I just went and got the sudafed out of the medicine cabinet and into my carryon bag. I will be sure to take some on our flight.

Have a great day,

Stuffy (aka, Kathleen)

Welll , that's not entirely true.
yes, even on some of the menus it says that it is included, but if you eat or drink something, a tip is usual. If you tip about 10% of the bill it is very good.

:thumbsup2

Hans

I think I'd agree with Hans' view on tipping over here. It's by no means expected like it is in the U.S. but if the service is good, then go ahead and tip, but probably at a lesser rate than you would in America.

Shaun

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. Is it 5:00 somewhere?

48 hours until we are at the airport checking in. Right now our flight is 50 hours and 15 minutes away from departure! (not that I am counting!)
Okay, I'll see if I can put in my two cents worth on these:

Hi all,

Some of you have mentioned bringing dollar bills...do you plan on using them to tip on board the Magic, or in ports of call? Sandy

Alot of people bring dollar bills to tip room service, drink waiters, etc. FYI-now on the ship, you sign a room service paper just to show you got your order. They have added a tip line, so if you are short on dollar bills, DCL has it all taken care of. No charge for the food from room service, but a tip line added for our convenience!

Welcome to everybody new!
We are now official out of food at our house. Asked mom if we were going to the grocery store to get a few things to get us till Monday. Her answer no, you can eat peanut butter. So I guess we will be living on PB&J's for the next few weeks LOL. Lissa:tinker:

Well, at least you aren't on Big Brother Slop!:lmao:

You'll love the Barcelona Tourista Bus. We did the two day pass in May and it was great. We will do a one day with our daugther this time. On Monday night when you do your segway tour, you will be hosted by Edgar. He is a great guy (and I must say, pretty good looking too). You are going to love the tour. Ask him if his new baby girl has arrived. His girlfriend was due this week. He will probably wonder how you know. Tell him Linda told you. We are doing the segway with him again on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Take your camera! It was a blast.

Those stateroom charges do add up, don't they? Especially after I have visted Treasure Ketch and done my onboard shopping. It's a good thing that the soft drinks are free, and that we don't drink alcohol. Helps to free up more money for those high priced DCL excursions!

Does anyone know if the food menus have changed significantly from the FLA-based sailings? Can we expect a more Mediterrenian based cuisine? Whatever they offer us, I'm sure it'll be gorgeous! Shaun

Yes, there is a mediterranean flare to the menus. We tried some of them on the crossing. Food was a little different, but was still great. Some of the menus were the same (Golden Mickeys, Sailaway, Pirate Night, etc.)

Well, 14 1/2 more work hours until I am officially on vacation. Got to get some payroll stuff done now.

I'll check back later in the day!

Our time is 4.15 pm (afternoon)

(You'll love the Barcelona Tourista Bus)

Yes, we will arrive Barcelona on 15th July for 3 nights so we will go hop on hop off and lots to do for two days!! Think the kids will worn out at night times!!

After a morning of slave labor the house is now clean and we have been threatened within an inch of our lives if we mess it up. My brother is always telling us TMI when it comes to certain female things. Poor guy he is surrounded even the cats are girls. LOL I reread my post about the PB&J's opps I meant days not weeks. There will obviously be yummy food on the ship. For those of ya'll leaving here shortly have safe travels. We don't leave until Monday afternoon I'm going to go nuts between now and then.

Hi

I was looking in disneycruise.com and see only Cat. 9 left!!

Look like our Cruise is nearly full?

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

Do we need to bring quarters for the video games? My ds (6) was just drawing and writing in his journal about the "quarter masters" on the ship (I think that is what it is called.) I was just thinking I might need to pick up a roll of quarters for him.:)

Thank you!
