Deborah glad the new equipment worked out for your daughter.

I still have not started packing. Instead I spent today stamping brown gift bags with green mickeys. I can see what is going to happen it is going to be next Sunday and I'm going to be going insane trying to get everything into suitcases.

Lissa:tinker:

Just when I think I'm done shopping, we stopped at Target to get Downy Wrinkle Release (haven't tried it before) and luggage tags and a pirate t-shirt for Zachary, and I found pants for the boys on sale, so I got a few more pair for them as we were going to be tight for our back-to-back days with church visits. And one pair each of zip-off pants - the ones i found before ended up not working out, so these will be better. All the new stuff is currently in the wash and will be packed as soon as it comes out.

Here's the Final List of DISers traveling with us -- if you have something you want to change, please let me know and I'll update it. I think I got all the new folks added! I thought maybe we can have a "sign in" sheet at the Meet on Wednesday and then take it to the lunch on Thursday so we can see who all we actually meet!

You can tell Zachary that my sister plays, although only very occasionally. We had fun last time we were at WDW doing the Magic Kingdom treasure hunt cards for VMK...

Would that be your sister aka GadgetGirl? Zachary loves doing the quests at WDW, and they are fun for all of us to do together.

Finally started packing! Managed to get carry on bag pack. Or I should say bags because I have medical equipment with Delta I cna carry on more than one carry on and a personal item. Tomorrow starting on the bigger stuff.

Update on Lunch in Lumiere's-Thursday July 19 12 noon

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's is any updated list of who is planning on going to lunch on Thursday at noon for a mini-meet after we have sailed:

Seaulater (2)
Butterbear (2) + sister (1)
Nzdisney (2)
Tinkerbell29 (3)
Barbie3-4 (2)
Smilis (2)
Wendy151950 (1)
Lilian and Alex (2)

Just an FYI, you are NOT committed to lunch, just cuz I have your name (actually I will hunt you down if you don't show up ), but I need to give them an idea of how many will show up at one time so they can plan an area for us accordingly.

This is a casual lunch, anyone is welcome to attend!

Okay, so I just got back from doing the last of my errands and shopping. Went to the mall cuz Dillard's is having a stinking great sale with an additional 30% off all their clearance stuff. Let's just say, I came out with a bunch of more stuff I really don't need. But I SAVED so much money! My DH just doesn't get it though (good thing he is gone for the weekend!)

Then headed over to Walmart to pick up a couple of things and then I was DONE! 100 degrees outside. Walked out to my 2004 Jeep Cherokee and put the key in the ignition and NOTHING. Dead as a door nail. So walk back in to their little auto department, and mr. auto dude is kind enough to take out the battery charger machine to my car. Hooks it all up and NOTHING. I see Mr. Tow Truck going through the parking lot and he parks back at the side and goes into garden center. I go hunt him down and ask him if he can help me with my car since hubby is gone and my car is DEAD. He says sure, no problem. Hauls his HUGE tow truck over to my car and gives it a jump and it starts right up. Tells me I probably need a new battery. Told him I was headed straight home. Tried to give him some $$ for his efforts, but he wouldn't take anything.

Drive straight home, decide to back into the garage, just in case my jeep won't start in the morning. Barely turned off. Decided to give it a start. It was DEAD. Guess I am home for the duration now. No more shopping for me.

So, guess I'll go back to packing! Maybe I will actually get the packing done this weekend!

That sounds like quite an afternoon! It was wicked hot here, too topping out at 108 when I was at the OUTSIDE outlet mall. Whew. I picked up a sweet camera case, make up, clothes...but luckily our car didn't die out on us! That is good someone was around to help you out, Seaulater!

Here's where you can check the weather for Barcelona and then you can put in other locations like Palermo, Naples, Florence, Rome, Nice in the search bar on the site to see the weather forecasts for those areas...

http://www.timeanddate.com/weather/spain/barcelona

The high 70s and 80s sounds so much nicer than the high 90s we've been having!

Kathie - thanks! Got you added with all your details!

This week is gonna be crazy - but one thing that will help it go faster is getting to be crazy with the rest of you all :surfweb:

Anyone know what date the Harry Potter movie comes out? And what about the book? I think both are occuring soon. I told DH that we should try to buy the book while we're abroad just because. I wonder if they will show the movie on the ship.

Speaking of movies, I checked Delta's website and the movies both going and coming aren't anything I'm interested in seeing. Guess that's another reason to ZZZZZ on the way across. Zachary asked me today how he was going to take a bath before sleeping on the plane Monday night :rotfl: I told him he gets to skip his bath or else double-up on Sunday night.

It sounds like everyone has been busy packing!!!!! It is hot here as well, but luckily not in the 100's yet

We are having a debate at our house over what "cruise casual" means for the guys? Any tips???

Today I picked up some insulated water bottles to pack in our luggage for our excursions. I figured we could save some money on water this way. I also picked up some snacks for the kids for the flight. I also got our mail canceled and our ironing caught up. :laundy:

This week we are all getting haircuts except for my dd whose sweet little friend gave her a haircut a couple of weeks ago behind a chair in my living room. Her friend is also 4 and now my daugter has zig zaged bangs and a layered hair due. She had beautiful long hair up until then. We are laughing about it now but at the time, not so funny.
I am also going to treat myself to a mani and pedi.

My kiddos have watched the disney dvd about the cruise like 10 times today. They know more about the ports than I do and they are only 6 and 4.
:rotfl:

Cindy-thanks for the weather website, very helpful.

Happy packing,

Kathleen

Hi all! Sorry it's been a few days since checking in. My sister, BIN, DNephew came in on Sat. and we were preparing for this week's visit last week.

Starting to panic about the kids passports now. I called again on Friday because we still had not received the two of the three that were completed last Tuesday. Apparently, the passport office has no clue how to send out overnight envelopes quickly, as they were still sitting in their mail room!!! Then, they told me the 9 year old's was being held up for some unknown reason and that it had been days since the file had been updated. I have ordered another birth certificate just in case I need to drive to Miami. Not really my first choice... If nothing has happened with any of them by tomorrow, I will be calling our Congressman and will be a nuisance until all three passports are in our hands!!!:scared:

Well, hopefully I will have more time to write tomorrow! Talk to you all soon...can't wait to meet everyone!

Diana

Kathleen - thanks for the reminder about snacks for the trip - I need to get some this week. And all three of my guys need haircuts - they are going on Tuesday, I think, as long as I get some money for them.

Cruise Casual for Gary means casual pants (like khakis of various colors) and a collared shirt like a knit golf style polo kind of shirt. Or any of his collared Disney shirts. But it can also mean t-shirts and jeans, just not shorts. Of course shorts are allowed for dinner at Topsiders which will be nice for those nights we get back after our dinner time. Personally I want to enjoy the dining rooms as much as possible - I love that whole atmosphere - but I do want to experience Topsiders for dinner as well - something new for me!

I think I'll pull out the DVD again, too - gotta learn how to say the port for Rome. We've been watching the Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island from netflix lately.

Have a great night!

Diana - sending tons of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: that the passports will arrive in time. Our mail room is like that, too - some days they don't even come pick up from our mail station which drives me nuts. I hope everything is ok with the 9 y.o.'s passport and that you get everything quickly. What day are you leaving for Barcelona?

Sorry to hear you are still waiting on passports! Hope it is resolved tomorrow for you.

I am getting a bit freaked about the stories of missing luggage from folks on flights over from the U.S. It would be tragic to have to leave on the cruise minus a bag, eek!

Hopefully, ours will make it fine to Zurich at least where we make our connection to Barcelona. At least that puts the bags that much closer.

Cindy,

How many cruise casual nights are you planning on for Gary? Is it every night besides, semi-formal, formal and Palo nights? I think I packed too formal of clothes for Jarrett for the casual nights. I had packed 3 pairs of dress pants and 5 dress shirts (to be rotated) some can worn with a tie and some without for the casual nights, but now I am realizing that he will be to dressy and as he says too uncomfortable. (I just like seeing him dressed up, he wears Khakis and a polo everyday to work and it gets boring) :) I just need to chill!!!:lmao:

Thanks, Kathleen
