July 17th 2005 Magic?

Welcome Disneytart, :wave2:
Glad to know we really aren't alone on the boat! I see it's your first cruise and you have teenagers. Are they looking forward to the cruise and/or hanging out in the teen club? I have a 13 year old who doesn't seem to be too excited about either. Anyway, how old are your brother's kids? We have a few in the 10-12 range as well as the 5-7 range; if they're interested, DonnettaR has started a kid's thread that they could check out to meet other kids their age.

Has anyone else been following the repo cruise thread? Seems like the Magic is going to undergo some interesting changes once it goes into dry dock. Check it out if you get a chance.....

Lastly, for those who have PMd, we will be responding soon (as well as posting on the kid's thread). My DDs have had to work on book reports due at the end of the school year (which is 15 school days away , but who's counting.... :cool1: )

WE ARE! School is not out here until June 17th. Just wanted to say welcome to our new member. We might have a full ship yet!

Thanks for the warm welcome. My DD16 (going on 40)is looking forward to the cruise, she enjoys traveling and adventure, though she is used to being treated like an adult. Being thrown together with other teenagers will probably be good for her. My DD13 is not sold on it yet. She loves Disney and will have a great time w/her cousins but is concerned about leaving her cat for a week. I know that may sound goofy to some but she has a very special bond w/her kitty. Grandpa will be taking care of all our animals while we're cruising so hopefully she will relax as the cruise gets closer. Both girls will try the teen activity but will also have their cousins to do things with. My bro's kids are DS6,DD3 & DD9 . I'll tell my DSIL to check out this thread though her time is pretty stretched thin.

Thanks again for the welcome!

Hi Everyone, welcome Disney Tart :wave2:

The kids thread is coming along. Glad to see the kids making friends. I need to tell the family cruising with us to check it out. They have a DD8 , DDS's 11? and 15? :confused3

For those going to the port when the Magic arrives, thanks so much for offering to post pictures.

Cherta, the changes announced for dry dock sound like more magic will be made on the Magic. The repo thread has some great pictures posted and video of the passage through the canal.

We're counting down the school days, too. DD gets out on June 17th, too. I am so glad my semester is over and I can focus on cruise research, not globalization and juvenile deliquents. Disney Cruising is much more pleasant and interesting :)

Just putting us back on page one where we belong! :Pinkbounc

I have a few "dumb" questions....How did the thread move to page 2? Does it have to do with recent replies or something?

Can someone tell me what 'bumping' is? This is why I'm still "earning my ears"

:wave2: Glad to see that we have more people joining us. Thought it was kinda lonely with all of us sitting around one table every night. :rotfl2: We are all getting so excited with the days counting down. We are still hopeful about going down to see the Magic sail this Saturday. I have been reading on other posts that there will now be a fireworks show, the worlds biggest fire boat and special events happening at Ports O'Call. I am afraid that it might be a mad house. Still not sure if DW is going to get the day off or not. So it may be me and the kids amid the throngs of onlookers. I am hoping to get some pictures to post. I have obviously done something wrong with the green mickeys. :confused3 I put the pictures on at night and I can see them. The next morning I wake up and the pictures are gone and the link to the picture is "FORBIDDEN". Anyway DW went to Joann's Fabric story and found "Make you own buttons" for about a dollar. Our buttons look wonderful. If anyone is interested, PM me and I will give you the link to a picture. Anyway off to get the kids in bed. Talk to all of you tomorrow!

BUMP

Simply means that a good question has not been responded to and is slipping down the active posts. So some one BUMPs the message so that it will return to the top of the list where people will notice it again.

And I bumped us because I think we've got a great thread going and I want others who may be cruising with us to see it and join the fun! :goodvibes

Good luck to all who are braving the crowds on the 28th! Sounds like its going to be a blast! :cheer2:

Talk to you all when I return form vacation!

hi everybody - I haven't been doing my part to keep the thread on the first page - too busy at work, i'm afraid. boy, i cant wait for July. I cant wait to start hearing trip reports from the West coast Cruisers - so curious about excursions. I'm definitely up for scoops at 3 on sunday, and i'll get to home depo for some chips on of these days!

Hi all - in a bit of cruise overload right now  but it sure is fun. Just received the Passporter book in the mail, the new edition has stuff on the Mexican ports, looks good so far. Haven't booked any excursions yet, and know that some may be booked up. We were very interested in the Dolphin swimming but since it's not on our cruise we're trying to decide on an alternative.

According to the PP book it says Pirate Night is on all 4+ night cruises, so hopefully this will include our cruise. Know my DDs will be disappointed if it gets skipped, they even have pirate outfits ready to be packed(big POTC fans!).

Going to try to make the big send off on Saturday. Think it will be neat to see what "daytime fireworks" look like. Gave my DSIL the link for this thread so she can stop by and say hello. Maybe get her kids connected with other kids their age. Can't wait to read trip reports from the first cruise.

Hello again everyone! :wave2:

My DH got a wild idea that we should see if they had any openings for the August Repo cruise, and guess what they did. So we changed our Ressies over to do that cruise instead.

I hope you all have an incredible trip on DL's 50th Birthday...It has been great talking with you all and I look forward to seeing your trip reports.

I will be going to the port to see the ship off at 4:00pm today, as our plans changed. I will post any good pics I get.

TTFN

Best of luck Diznylnd. We wish we all could go with you!! It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity should be missed if you have a chance to do it. We will be at Port's O'Call about 3:30-4 today also. Keep an eye out for a Green Mickey Pin.

We will be there at about the same time as you. As soon as we are done at the aquarium of the pacific we will head to the ports of call. I will look out for your family. We would love to meet another Dis family.

Re: your green mickey photos, try opening an account at sonyimagestation.com. It's free! That is how I post my signature pic. You could try to upload it to an album there and then post the image url in the insert pic link above.

Hope this helps. We would love to see your hard work.

Hi all - Just got home from the big send-off in San Pedro! Very cool! Just what I needed to get the family jazzed and ready for July. My DD13 actually said she wished we were cruising right now and didn't have to wait. She's been hesitant but no more :cool1: ! DH was impressed by how big the ship is. Our family was even interviewed by a local San Pedro newspaper :rotfl: Now we just have to keep it together until 7/17.

Ran into some other cruisers from the DIS board. They are cruising the week right before us 7/9. Had really neat t-shirts done up with their cruise date, names, etc. DLC cast members passed out white glove signs to everyone on the docks so we could wave at Magic. I think Diznylnd has a great photo of one on the Photo thread. There was also a local high school band playing close to where we watched the Magic leave. It was great to be there! :cheer2:

Okay, this may sound silly but I just had to share  Walmart has the cutest Disney loungeware/PJ stuff in their women's dept. Probably some could even be worn out in public. Mickey & Minnie, Eeorye, Tink and a bunch of new Herbie the Love Bug stuff. Wasn't planning on starting my cruise shopping so soon but I couldn't pass this stuff up. :flower: Got each DD and me a set for nightime and a couple tanks they will probably wear during the day.

On another note I finally got through and made my Palo Res online and booked our excursion in Cabo. Going to do the brunch on Monday and the dinner Thursday night. In Cabo we are doing the Horseback riding on the Beach. Thrilled that with only 7 weeks away I got all the dates/times we wanted.

And finally anyone here going to decorate their Cabin doors? I want to but haven't decided how yet?

Hope everyone is a having a relaxing and safe Memorial Day!

On the subject of door decorations, we have purchased magnetic inkjet paper and the kids have "Disney Magic Artist" and plan on doing a beach scene. Hopefully everyone had a great weekend. Almost inside of 45 days, can you believe it!

A beach scene sounds really cute and having the kids do it is a great idea! Maybe I'll borrow that idea and put my girls to work :)
