July 17th 2005 Magic?

I haven't checked any Disney news sites, but has there been any publicity about the Magic leaving on the repo cruise?

There is a thread on this cruise. They have about 22 pages for just the first 2 days. I have been glued to the thread and can't wait for the 5/28 cruise which will be most like ours.

HI everyone, :wave2:
First off--thanks to everyone who PM'd my daughters-they are really excited about making new friends for the cruise. They will be responding to all very soon! :earsgirl:

Amie-Thank you for offering to have your group of boys hang out with my son. Hopefully, he'll find his way around. I'm bringing his Nintendo DS system just in case. One of the problems he has is that he's 6'0", 130 lbs. (I grow 'em big at my house :rotfl: ), and on the maturer side, so when he does hang with the younger set, he seems out of place. I think he'll be fine--if not, I told him he had to BEHAVE as such! :rotfl: I guess we'll find out..

It is so cool that we'll all have those little birthday cakes coming our way (although I've read they aren't very tasty)! Maybe we should meet at Scoops for an ice cream and some cookies while we're on the cruise! :cheer2:

I've been glued to the thread for the repo cruise too! I LOVE the pics they've been posting-I'm getting soooo excited! July cannot come fast enough (Am I the only one starting to pack?) :cool1:

Hi everyone! I'm glad this thread is picking up steam, but isn't it wierd that the other west coast cruises seem to have so many more people from the board? I wonder why. for those of you with boys, if they will play basketball, my daughter will be right there with them. lets just say that, while she likes the movies with princesses in them, she'd rather eat veggies all day than wear a princess outfit!!! I think a meet-up with everyone would be great!! :flower:

HI everyone,
I thought the same thing about the other west coast threads myself. I actually glanced through one and it seems to be a small group of people (maybe 5-6, kinda like us :teeth: ) posting regularly versus a large group of people posting a few times. At least that's what it seems like. I guess we'll just have to pick-up the pace! I'll do my part by taking regular breaks away from my work to check our thread for any new post! :rotfl:

Goofyonthehighseas-I noticed on another thread that you and your family are doing a non-disney excursion. My husband and I thought about it, but we were concerned about doing something not sponsored by Disney (in other words, we're chickens! :earseek:) I wish we were more adventurous--that would save us quite a bit of money! Anyone else doing non-Disney excursions?

pclaire-your daughter sounds like my middle one! She is the one who would rather play football than do all that "girlie" stuff, too! LOL. Maybe they'll meet for a game of HORSE on the courts!

Well, it sounds like two of us are interested in a group meeting. Anyone else interested?

Hi all,
All we need is one more page (page 6) and it becomes [.....Last Page], so it looks like we are a larger post. LOL
Cherta: thank your daughter for emailing mine, she will be writting back soon. As for the shore excursion, Looked at all of the DCL ones and I think they would be too long for my youngest DD. Our kids love swimming and not sure how much of that they will have on the boat. When DW and I went on our Mexican Cruise we stopped at one of the El Cid hotels (there are 4) and they were very nice. What I like is that we will have to commit to going or not going, and stay as long or short as we like. I still think it is going to be extremely HOT! Mazatlan this week is aready in the mid-90's. So if there is something good on the ship we might just stay on board.

Almost forgot "Doin' the Passport Dance". Finally got them yesterday. Took about 4 weeks.

I forgot to mention that we got my daughter's passport back last week, and her middle name was spelled correctly! :cool1: It only took about a week and a half, so now there's one less thing to worry about! (Yah for you and your family, Goofyonthehighseas! )

It is really going to be hot when we reach the ports! I looked up the average temps for the areas and both Mazatlan and Cabo average in the 90s. That's why I picked the two beach excursions. Besides, they were relatively short in duration, so we can get back to the ship early and swim in the pools or just relax before dinner.

Speaking of dinner, I called DCL and tried to get a schedule for formal night, semi-formal night, pirate night, etc. and she told me I wouldn't know until we boarded the ship. But if you read some of the other threads, people have been able to call in and get the schedule. :confused3 Anyone tried to get the dining schedule?

Hello everyone!!!

Cherta: I would love to be a part of that group meeting. Has it been decided where everyone will meet? Also congrats on the passport, I am glad that they were able to fix it so fast.

GoofyontheHiSeas: Congrats on getting your DDs passport too.

In the words of my DD5 "is it Disney Cruise time yet?" :cheer2:

Hi Everyone,

We got our passports the other day too. Good thing the kids passports don't last long. My DD's pix isn't very good now that it is official.

Our excitement is growing as we read and plan more. I ordered the newest edition of the PassPorters Cruise guide. There is great info in the book about the ship, tips, tricks and menu examples. There is some info on the Pirates Night. I'm not able to figure out which night we will have from their guesstimated dinner rotation schedule. I also read that we won't receive our cruise doc's until 28-14 days before we depart. I was hopin' they would come sooner. Anyone read of them coming sooner?

We are booked for the Disney Sierra Madre tour excursion in Mazatlan. Sounded like a good tour to see the countryside, visit an adobe brickyard, a tile factory and a bakery. Hopefully, someone on the upcoming cruises will have some feedback about the tour.

We are going to hang out at the beach in Cabo and not book any excursions. My BF who is coming with us, was told by her aunt to go to a restuarant called The Office in Cabo. We thought we'd check it out.

An impomptu b-day party sounds good to me. I'm not sure about how to do the IM thing. If anybody's daughter wants to send a message to my daughter, she'd love it, just let me know how. I think I am set up on MSN messanger.

Oh, Cherta, I've been picking up things here and there for the trip and making a list of things to bring with us. :)

Maybe this message will make page 6 :cheer2:

The Disneyland site has a new Tinker Bell printing program for invites and photo frames. If we decide when to have ice cream together to celebrate, I can make 'invites' to the 'party' for all those who are interested. I'll just bring a bunch on the cruise and we can pass 'em out. If we did it early on in the cruise, it gives us a chance to meet one another. :grouphug:

What do you think?

Anyone going to the Princess Character breakfast in Disneyland before the cruise? We'll be at Disneyland the 14th-17th then off to the boat :cool1:

Hi ThreeJ's
It's pretty easy to PM someone-just click on their name and one of the options is "Send A Private Message". Click on that option and follow the directions from there. You can check for private messages sent to you if you click on the "Private Message" line in the upper right-hand corner. :)
I thought about going to Disneyland the day before, but changed my mind. I know it's going to be a zoo, and I don't think my husband will go for it. I hope you have fun at the breakfast--your daughter will love it! :earsgirl:
Lastly, you can download the crusie docs directly from their website if you get impatient. Try downloading each one individually instead of in a group. When I did a group download, all the docs came out blurry (when I printed them). When I did them individually, they came out crystal clear!

I think meeting at Scoops would be fun! I've read on other threads (yes-I'm seeking treatment for this "addiciton" I have! :rotfl: ) that they've met on the first day--seems easier to do, since plans have not been set in stone. How does that sound to everyone interested? Is Scoops open on embarkment day? :confused3

Cherta,

Thanks for letting me know about the PM. I didn't know you could do that from the boards. I get it now. This is the first board I've 'discussed' on.

I'll check if Scoops is open on the first day. Sounds like a good day. After the drill, it will be the sail away party. If Scoops isn't open, we could celebrate at the sail away party. I'm bringing plenty of bubbles to go around.

Hi all
I have heard that Scoops is open in the afternoon the day we sail. So maybe we can plan for before the Safety drill. We will probably be in the pool area that afternoon anyway. Might be a good way to get the kids out of the pool.

HI everyone,
Meeting at Scoops before the drill is a great idea! That way, our kids will know who to look for in the clubs later that evening. Now we need to come up with a way for us to recognize each other.

I'm impressed, you guys really got the thread going!!! My daughter has pm'd Cherta's daughter and would love to send one to the other kids too if thats all right.
Re excursions, we are doing Randi's Happy horses in Mazatlan, and the Santa Maria snorkel trip in Cabo. I'm a little iffy on the snorkeling (my DD will just have turned 7), and I've been debating about going instead on the pool/beach excursion (whatever its called), since the swimming on the boat may be tough given the crowds of kids. Its just too hard to decide what to do when you've never been to a place, dont know what the weather will be like, and cant predict the kids moods, level of exhaustion, etc!! I'm definitely up for Scoops on the first afternoon. My only question is whether ice cream comes before or after a margarita! :flower:

We are doing the 3-night pre-stay also. Are you staying on Disney property? We are at the DLH. Did you purchase Disney transfers? I am most concerned about this. Our TA told us that Disney was only doing one pick-up from the hotels(all guests will be picked up at the Grand Californian). I really hate that we have to schlept our luggage from one hotel to the other. I really liked checking it at the airport and not handling it again until it was to leave.

About the Scoops meet...what times does everyone have dinner? We have main seating and therefore don't spend a lot of time the sailaway because it is so close to dinner.

I am still reading the repo thread feverishly. How awful about the pins. We are not big pin people, but I would like like one if it says something about being the west coast cruise and a t-shirt.

Congrats on making it to page six...never knew that was a milestone. Yeah we made it :cheer2:

Hi All,
After looking at recent navigators, it seems the best time to meet is around 2:30 or 3:00. I don't know if that works for everyone, so let me know what y'all think. We have first seating for dinner, BTW.
And the magherita comes after the ice cream-helps to wash everything down! :teeth:
