Hello!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I had myself almost convinced that late seating wouldn't be all that bad :sad2: :sad2: and when I checked our reservation today on the disney cruise site, we got moved to main seating.  There is still hope for you!!! Hang in there!!! p.s. glad I checked the site 'cause our travel agent forgot to delete one of our shore excursions. We have two rooms and (it is such a pain  ) to have to book everything twice!
Terri :cheer2:

That is great news!! I've been trying the last hour to get onto the disney cruise line site and it must be really busy because I'm having no luck. :furious: I'm determined to keep trying until I get on. :badpc:

My DH and 10 year old are camping with scouts for four days so I am home alone with 8 year old and 12 year old and 'WE' are almost packed. The extra stuff for formal night and pirate night are taking up almost an entire suitcase.

This is a good one. :lmao: :lmao: Before dear DH left on the campout I asked him to get his birth certificate out so I could start packing. He searched for hours and DID NOT FIND IT. So   I said we were sure gonna miss him next week when we were cruising and he was not. :rotfl2: (you surely didn't expect me to stay home did you :bounce: )Well, one of the threads on the DIS board mentioned how to get BC quickly so we went online :surfweb: and ordered one at 10 pm Sat nite and it came today. :grouphug: :grouphug: so I guess 'he' got lucky and we all get to cruise together.

:cloud9: Carlos and Charlies, that brings back memories of my single days in the late 80's/early 90's. 'nuff said

Can't believe it's so close - see you all soon!
Terri

I'm so glad it worked out for you getting your DH's birth certificate so quickly. Once we get back it's off to get passports for me, DD & DS. DH is lucky enough to already have one.

Wow, that is very fast. Did you know about this before reading this board? I never knew there was a quick way to get them. I bet he is happy that he can go. :cheer2: I would really be beside myself if I could not find mine. I do not handle surprises very well. I tend to :furious: Glad it all worked out well.

DH had a passport and talked me into getting one. SO, I have that. I wonder if they will stamp it. Does anybody know whether they do or not. I know you don't need a passport, so maybe they don't. I have never been outside the US so it would be neat to have something in my passport.

One day I would like to get to Rome. The only thing that will stop me is the plane. My husband wants to go to the British Open. That is a dream of his, so I am sure in a few years that will be a vacation of ours.

:thumbsup2 Nope, if I had not been reading through the board, I would never have known about the expedited birth certificates! :cheer2: :cheer2: Isn't the DIS board great (does anyone know what DIS stands for or is it just short for DISney?)

And - you want to go to Rome but don't want to fly? :woohoo: :woohoo: You can do the 14 night Disney Magic transatlantic cruise followed by an 11 night Mediterranean cruise which stops in Rome :yay: :yay: No stress packing for 25 days :lmao: :lmao:

see you soon!!

Finally got online at DCL. I'm sad to say we are still second seating for dinner. :sad2: That's ok, I'm not going to give up hope yet. I'm just telling myself that if I can get through each of three resturants at least once I will make other plans for dinner the other nights.

Of all the cruises we have been on my DH never got his passport stamped. I'm not sure how that all works.

Disney Information Services (or is it systems). The DIS also has some podcasts. On those, they pronounce DIS. The official pronounciation is Diz (as in Diz ney), and not Dis (as in dis cussion). I still want to pronounce it the wrong way.

Through the normal course of the cruise, your passport would never get stamped. However, you can take you passports with you to some of the islands and get them stamped someplace. I (we) have never bothered with this, so I don't know where to get them stamped.

Now that is great thinking!

Yes, you are over packed. But so what. At this point it is more stressful to figure out what not to take, then dealing with two extra bags.

There are four of you in your family, so in reality, you could have eight checked bags. So looking at it that way, you actually could take two more bags!

If I may make a recommendation. Have at least four of the bags contain things only needed on the cruise starting with dinner on Saturday. That way, those bags will not have to be opened between the time you leave your house and they are delivered to your stateroom about 3:00 pm on Saturday

On one of our earlier trips, every person had their own suitcase. The first night, we had to open every suit case to get pajamas, tooth brushes, etc. It would have been much easier to put all that first night stuff in a single suitcase.

And finally, make sure you have everything you need in your ship carryon(s) for embarkation (such as swimming suits, medicine). You will have a couple of hours when you will not have the bags you checked at the port.

Thank you, David. That's what Overpackers Anonymous is all about, I guess. Overpacking anyway and then trying not to stress about it. I am trying to be organized though so everything for Friday and Saturday is in one place. The pajama thing all in one place is a good idea also.
We're at the Beach Club in Disney Friday night. We wanted to take advantage of Magical Express, etc.

I too belong to Overpackers Anonymous. I've come to the conclusion that it is ok. So what if we can't fit in our staterooms. We only sleep there right? We have 4 suitcases and 2 garment bags. The kids and DH will each have a backpack and I will have a small carry on plus my purse. Oh, we usually bring an extra bag for whatever we buy. Call me crazy I know. I always find it harder to pack for a cruise anyway because you need more of a variety of clothes and shoes!

Now I'm trying to find a place for the sleeping bags we'll need for the deck chairs. :) The stateroom's gonna be one big walk-in-closet.

No sleeping bags required for the deck chairs. Just get 20 towels from the towel thingy. You can make a nice bed out of that. :p :p

I'll see if DH will go for that one. :lmao: I would love it though. :cool1: I could spend a month or so on a ship.

Yes, these boards are so great. I am assuming DIS comes from DISney, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks for the advice once again. Ya'll might see me out on the deck sleeping since my DH & DS snore!!! :furious: At least when I'm at home I can go to the guestroom. I better head out to Walgreens tomorrow for some ear plugs. I knew I forgot something.

:rotfl2: My husband always laughs when I call us all dis'ers (pronounced "dissers"). He says that it doesn't sound nice. Now I will have to work on that pronunciation.
