July 12 2009 ON THE WONDER

Hiya
so yea i love guitar hero, DDR, and mario kart, and super smash bro.
I'm a gamer. We had a -30 windchill today and yesterday so it was freezing.
I',m 14 and in the 8th grade, 5" 10' and long brown hair if you can picture that at all I'm not normal height I'm tall for my age haha.
And no i don't fancy just the smashing the pc i fancy all of them haha.

I like DDR, I have DDR on my Wii. I like guitar hero, but I suck pretty bad. I've never played Mario kart, but I've heard it's fun.

We had a major league ice storm in KY Tuesday and everything is covered . Our state and town is in a state of emergency.Powerliines are down all over, no one has heat, phone or water. We might not have power until the end of next week. It's terrible.

I'd hate it to be -30 on top of it all, everyone would be human popscicles!!!lol

We couldn't Laura Ingalls Wilder it like in Little House On The Prarie so,we came up to IL to stay with my grandparents. At least there's no school!

I'm 5'9 with long blonde hair. Yeah, who's never heard of a tall blonde? I'm in your atmosphere I can picture what you look like..... and your vantage point

I fancy them all as well, mostly the ones.


Yeah, I've been on one b4, a 3 day. I never went to the Teen Club once, I really wish I had. What are some things they do in the club?

I loved Castaway Cay, even though I never saw the teen beach. I liked Nassau even if I was a tad scared I'd get mugged.

The teen beach it has a volleyball net and then a beach with 5ft. deep water so i prefer the beach your to go with the life jacket and snorkel ,but no not me i just go with go goggles you see more that way but you get to see more if you don't inflate the jacket cause you get to go deeper thats what me and my friend did last year.
So if you like to dance then there's that then there's just hang out time with anyone.

oh katlyn, tht weather sux!!! Here's its been the weirdest weather. well compared to urs not tht weird! haha its been like cold (60's) then hot(70's) haha (thts wat we consider our hot and cold weather!!! :haha: ) and then it just started getting really windy!! ya thts weird for us!

I went snorkling last time, I liked it alot.

My mom thought I would get eaten by a barracuda or worse she's totally freaked about the ocean, I blame it on Jaws.

I have good news though, the power company thinks that we'll have power 2moro or Sunday back home.

Tay, I was wondering, how close do you live to the water?
lol The two things I think of when I hear California are Hollywood and surfers.

i live about ten to fifteen minutes from the beach! haha ya and hollywood is bout 1 1/2 to 2 hrs depending on traffic. ya prettyyyy cool.

Hi, how have you been? Are you getting excited about the cruise? I sure am. I was wondering if you had any ideas about whether we were going to do any gift exchanging (fish extenders). We did on our last two cruises and was just wondering what you thought.

Hopefully the weather has started to get a bit warmer where you are and you are not suffering from the extreme cold. We are still in the 60's. I will be leaving in two weeks for my cruise to Mexico. There have been quite a few storms in California and the Baja peninsula so hope they are all over by the time I leave.

Yes, a FE exchange would be great! How did it work on your previous cruises??

On our last summer cruise, some gave small things daily and others gave just once. Anything is fine with us..just fun to see the "flavor" of other areas..and where we live is soooo remote. It's great for the kids to learn about other areas.

closer to our cruise one gal just posted the room numbers for the FE and if that was uncomfortable for anyone on a public posting, a private message is just fine as well...I think this living in the boonies for the past 6 years has made me more..."whatever works for whoever...no stress"

Mickie and Mari: Thanks for the warm welcome! I have learned so much already from the boards. The info is really useful and helpful. I would have never known about the pillowcases and photo mattes, for example. If you have any insider tips, I would love to hear them. Thanks again and hope to meet you all.

Here is a couple of tips for you.... we used an over the door shoe holder for our last cruise and it worked great. The pockets hung on the outside of the bathroom door and each space held the kids swim goggles, sun tan lotions and lip balms, extra shoes that didnt fit on the floor of the closet and other personal items. The other tip we used was getting small, hooks to put on the bathroom walls that stuck with a peel off adhesive. Those hung bathing suits or items I had handwashed . I did bring extra plastic hangers and even asked the room steward for more so that there was less wrinkling.

Also we found the room service breakfast card in our dresser drawer and used it at least once. We didn't see it on our first cruise until the last night.

Hello to All on the 07/12 Wonder Cruise!

Mari: Sorry for my delayed response. I have been catching up on the latest trip reports and some of those are very long! Within our party of thirteen there are four children ages three to seven - two boys, two girls. The remaining eleven members are all adults - ages 65 to 30. On vacations, it usually takes all 11 adults look after four kids, but hopefully they will join up with the Oceanneer Club! Thanks for the tips of the over-the-door shoe pockets. That idea is ingenious.

Hoping to hear from other travelers! Thanks for your travel tips and ideas.

I had a great time on my cruise to Mexico but on my last day I developed swelling in my leg and I kinda of knew what was going on. I had already had two blood clots before and when i went to the emergency room when I got home to Vegas that what it was. Don't know if the doctor will let me fly across country. Will see him again next week and maybe he will give me his decision. I would hate to disappoint my granddaughter. I too would be so sad not to have this special time with her. My friends I am in need of some pixie dust then maybe the doctor will say OK

Oh..you will have so much fun. the first year we cruised, our youngest was 7 years old. We are so glad he had the opportunity to go to that kids club. He played "pirate" and cimbed all over this big pirate ship and slid down the slide, etc. We were late seating that cruise and he was so concerned that he would miss the kids club pirate party that my DH had him hurry with his dinner then take him over. The little girls found a chest of dress up clothes in the club and wore princess outfits. That age group was just adorable! Age wise will all the kids be in the same kids club group?? That would be great for them. Your adults may have more trouble looking up the activities and getting them to the club for the things they want to do..than having to look after them in person..They will have a great time and you too!
