question for you guys out there. I been reading about drinks on the cruise. Is there something that you can buy a DCL cup to use for the rest of the cruise that gets your the drink of the day for only $3? I been looking on sites but can not find anything...

Would one of you so called DCL experts please answer this question?

Well I'm no expert especially since I don't drink, but I don't think I've ever heard of this. You used to be able to buy a soda mug that allowed free refills but they got rid of those and added the drink machines. You used to also be able to buy a large beer mug and get cheaper refills. Not sure if they still have that or not. Best place to check would be the FAQ on the main forum.




Took my own advice and went to the FAQ here is what it says about the beer mug:

Beer Mug [refillable] - Mug is $14.95. Refills are $3.75 and get 20 oz for the price of a 16 oz. 15% gratuity is automatically added to this cost. Beer on tap on the ships: Bud Light, Amberbock, Kirin Itchiban, Guinness, Yeungling, Sam Adams and Michelob Ultra.

There is a link in the FAQ to what the mug looks like as well.

Here is the modified door sign. I left the middle of the lifering blank. You can put your names in there or I've added our picture. If anyone wants it just send me a pm with your e-mail address. I can send it as a .jpg or as a word document. Whichever is easier for you.

Some of the other cruise lines have the refillable drink glasses.....If at all, I only have one of those fancy drinks, so I don't know the answer either.

Well, I am a drinker, and I can tell you that there is not a refill glass for the DOTD. As in the FAQ, there is a refillable beer mug. However, the DOTD is sometimes offered at a special price and/or in a special DCL plastic souvenir glass. In addition, the DOTD is sometimes offered as a 2 for 1 (like in the afternoon at CC with the Conch Cooler).

I will be happy to further educate anyone on this sailing about the nuances of the refillable beer mug or the DOTD. First round is on you!

Here is a hint for first time cruisers and the Drink of the Day.
It is not necessary to have every drink of the day on the cruise just to collect an entire set of each specialty glasses offered. However, if you think that this is an idea you wish to try, you may wish to pack slacks with explanding waist bands

Not that anyone I know would have ever done such a thing.

Yuengling is good and all, and I cant get it in TX but it is still annoying how much they charge for cheap beer. I prefer the bottle of rum carried on and the coke machine. Much more affordable for those of us that are 'cheap'
