**JULY 11, 2010*** Double Dip Wonder!

Good Morning All - a little time away from the boards, not intended at all. We headed to WDW the 24-27th for a short break, our first one since the New Year. We stayed at Kidani - I love Kidani Village.....and enjoyed the Animal Kingdom as well as Flower and Garden at Epcot. Lots of good memories to post about later. Meanwhile, I see the site has been very busy and I have lots of catching up to do.....Back after I start reading.

YARRRRR....you need your pirate costume, matey!
How about just a pirate t-shirt?

I just thought of something.....do they even DO Pirate Night on the shorter cruises??:confused3

We have done a 3 day Christmas Cruise and YES they did do Pirate Night.

Sam and I are bringing our Pirate gear.....Heck, why not....maybe we can be mistaken as big teenage kids and then go to Horsie Camp this summer.....

Well if you are wondering what I'm doing posting at this weird hour (4 am my time) it isn't because I'm going for an early morning run like Jim. Nope just got home from a visit to the ER with Mark. He's got a kidney stone passing. He's on some good meds and feeling better so I hope it passes soon. We're both just too wide awake now but I'm sure I'll be crashing for a while soon.

Mary - thanks for the note and belated good wishes coming Mark's way. I hope the drugs have helped and all is ok now.

Mark - Please feel better - I am catching up and see that you spent part of last weekend in the ER - not fun.

I'm sorry, Hedgie. We love you. Really, we do. Your friend Scoopie2 (or since he's from Arizona, maybe he should be Scoopie DOS) is ready for his Alaska cruise. His twin, Scoopie (the original) is going to the Baltics, I think, before he comes to see you.

Stacey - You need to decide on a name so that Mary can make a button...

Haha - yes definitely busy..... I would like to be in shape for the 5k.... not necessarily do it....

Virgil
pirate:

I am with you on this one Virgil....

Alas, I have turned into a couch potato recently.

Not good, not good at all....

We're in for FE's if someone is organizing it. We've always only done one night - well that is in addition to the buttons we give.

UTOP! PDFG and all our friends who need it.

My 15 year old son is not bringing a friend on the cruise this year. He had plenty of kids to hang out with on the ship last year. I sure hope there are lots of teenagers on board on this double dip cruise.

Anybody bringing their teens?:yay:

Good Morning Lisa - I see you have jumped in since I last posted....

Fun times ahead...but no kids with us to join in.....

Hedgie turn 21 on the Panama Canal Cruise.....hee hee

That was pretty much what I had thought, too. I can't wait to go there again, and hopefully this time it won't be pouring rain! I'll make a note of this on the first page....mostly so I don't forget. :sad2:;)

Undecided about Grills this trip....will need to let you know....
Friends? Sleep?

Friends? Port?

Hum??????

Update on Flower and Garden

We had a great time at the Flower and Garden Festival this year. A few highlights to put you all in the mood to visit Disney...

Animal Kingdom - great as ever. We wanted to see the baby gorilla born in Feb. but Mommy was shy and protected baby from the "noisy" guests. Next time we will need to get there extra early to have a chance. One cast member said she has only seen the baby once, so it is luck of the draw.

Yak and Yeti - always a fun place to eat. Rather than tackling the rapids, we returned to Kinadi Village for the pool, slide, savanna and spa....oh, and of a course a stop at the Tiki Bar.

Sanaa has become our favourite resturant - the bread course along is yummy and that was only day 1.

Day two - after a visit to the Shrine we arrived early at Epcot and hit soaring along with a couple and a precious 5 year old girl who was so proud she was tall enough this year to ride, and she loved it. The flowers were pretty, I enjoy seeing how the Topieary's are moved to each new year's theme. Ther was so much to see, but I expect the best was the Pixie Hallow Butterfly garden. With my new camera, I have some good shots. Dinner was at Boma and alas I was disappointed. It has become too "Americanized" for my taste, although Sam says the desserts are as good as ever. We had an unusal firework display in the form of lightening and storms. All the animals on the savannas were safely back in the barns I expect. Not like us trying to run in the rain.

Day three - back to Epcot to catch the exhibits we missed. Note to self, do not let Sam re-roof the porch the week before the cruise. Three days of hot roof work do not provide for a peppy spouse. Today was better - and it was cooler - the entire Epcot area looked so green after the rain. The crowds were down so we could ride and see trolls and other adventures. And, more time at the pool and at Sanaa for dinner. Which reminds me, I need to write my cast appreciation notes.

Day four - time to check-out. We elected to walk around Downtown Disney - I actually had shopping in mind but no success. We did something we had never done before and that was a movie - we say Alice at the DD theatre.

And soon, it was time to return home.....A good trip...and relaxing.

Perhaps I shall become ambitious enough to post some pictures later in the week.

The one and only ORIGINAL Scoopie will be on this cruise. Scoopie Dos is only coming to Alaska with us because original Scoopie will be heading off to the Baltics and he didn't want to be jet-lagged. ;)

You know, don't you, that everyone on here except us is reading this thinking we're crazy, right???

Florida Resident Rates have been released for this cruise!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

And more cruise related ....

I vote yes, let's do the FE. I love my snorkeling Mickey FE.

Let's leave it at one or two nights....any night anyone feels like doing it...except the last night, when we pack away the FE's to go home.

Keep the cost of the gift to a minimum, or do homemade.

Anyone interested, send me a PM with your names, ages of kids, and room numbers, and I'll get a list out to everyone who ends up wanting to join in.
