**JULY 11, 2010*** Double Dip Wonder!

Good morning everyone!

We sail in 15 weeks!

Congrats to everyone who got their bookings done last night! :thumbsup2

Will have to wait a while to book mine....I totally forgot about DCL wanting us to be paid in full first. We're not quite there yet.

I may be sitting outside Palo, eating a hot dog and staring longingly at you all.
:rotfl::rotfl:

ooopsie - a minor detail, soon to b rectified....we moved from a cruse last year to this one, so we are safe....Remeber Seahorse Snorkle 2nd day.

Now that was strange.

Garry - where are you???

Did you book??

And we have a new turtle....its name is "dark" for the dark side of the moon....picked it out of the swimming pool last night. Today we say a snapper laying eggs on our side lawn - cool!!!

Count us in as a very probable! Buttons anyone? :)

Ok I'm quoting something from over a year ago but time to start talking about buttons.

Those of you who have sailed with us before know that we do buttons for the group. For those who haven't they are pin back buttons that usually have a logo that goes along with the cruise and your screen name and real first name. It is our gift to you.

So who wants a button? Just post your request and I'll keep a list (in the past we've had a website to keep track of all this but since I know most of this group and it is small we didn't feel a need for that). The only thing we ask is that you pick up the buttons at the meet and greet (which we also have to talk about) and that you give us your room number in case you miss it (so they don't go to waste).

Buttons are also available for those sailing with you just let us know their relationship. For example if Mark didn't have his own screen name he'd be Mark - DH of WDWLVR.

Any questions just let me know.

Virgil/Nick if you want any for others involved with the wedding let us know.

So the first question up for discussion - what do we want as a logo?

  • The wedding logo Nick designed
  • A take off on the double scoop logo we used in 2006 (ice cream cones)
  • Something else????

DIS meet and greet - anyone up for one?

We usually try and start the cruise off with a meet and greet. A place for everyone to mingle for a short time and get to know each other. In the past we've done this up on deck 10 but it can get HOT up there and since this is a July cruise it will most likely be very very HOT. So I'm suggesting what we've done the last couple of cruises and meet at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge.

What do you all think??????

Mary....you definitely know that gaRry, Vicki and I are "in" for the buttons.
I was leaning toward the wedding theme, and then realized that we have some new cruisers who I think would probably prefer a memento of their first "Double Scoop" cruise. JMHO.

I like the idea of meeting in the Promenade Lounge. We can go out onto the walking deck to wave goodbye to the CM's at the port from there, can't we?
I agree, it is going to be REALLY hot in the sun.

I don't think gaRry's booking anything for this cruise. I think it's all about CHILL for him. Vicki's going to brunch with me, but I don't know about the Seahorse snorkel....that might be just me joining you.

MEE MEE MEE MEEE - I WOULD LIKE A BUTTON...
Oh yes, and Sam and Hedgie too.

I like the wedding logo but as Stacey said, since we have other cruisers, maybe an ice cream cone with scoups on it. We could have Castaway Cay and Nassau. Or just two scoops of CC.

Hum..... or we could put the wedding logo on a scoop of ice cream...

Easy for me, I don't have to make them....

Promenade is a great location. We have had dis meets there before and it works out well. There is always a cast member nearby to snap photos with numerous cameras....and 3pm will work well.....

That's fine...We are 1 for 3 in making it into the water for this event.

So far we have norhing booked for Nassau.

I'd still like to get a group together to use Stuart Cove's for snorkeling. I know there's great snorkeling/diving in the Bahamas, we just have to get away from the port area.
He answered my e-mail and they have a trip that would work for us cruisers. I just need to see if anyone else is interested. I might go by myself, there's nothing else to do in Nassau. And they provide transportation to/from the ship, so I wouldn't be wandering around alone.

And your room number is?????? :lmao: Read the directions people! :)

BTW yes you can wave goodbye but first you have to go to the assembly drill which is why 3 pm works so well.

OK here's my take on the buttons for what it is worth. Feel free to chime in. I know you will.

First and foremost the wedding design is Nick's so we have to have his permission to use it. Personally I love it and for those of us going for the wedding I think it would make a great button.

SO....I'm thinking of doing something we've never done before. Offer two designs. A wedding design one for those of us going to the wedding (with Nick's ok of course) and a more generic one for those not going as part of the wedding. It can be the ice cream cone design like before or it can be DIS green Mickey ears that could then be worn in the parks and at other times.

Double Scoop

Obviously wording would change on this most likely to "5 night Double Scoop 7/11/10".

What do you think?

Woo Hoo a UTOP with Stacey, Irene and buttons!

PDFG and all our friends who need it!

I'm just so not good at following instructions...but you guys already knew that.
Room number 6154

Either way that we do the buttons is fine with me. I love the wedding design, but will wait to see what Nick says. But I'm also still partial to our Double Scoop too. Big help I am!

Hey, don't blame me, I was following Stacey's lead.....

And my room number is? Sorry - will have to check material at home.
