**JULY 11, 2010*** Double Dip Wonder!

Hi everybody! It's been a while since I have been on here. Lots of company, weddings, graduations etc to take up all my time. I am getting so excited about this cruise. I still have to get a rental car to get to the port and then after the cruise. We will be staying in Orlando for a few days after the cruise meeting up with friends. Anyone have any good deals on car rentals? I can't believe with all this prep that I still have that left to do!:confused3

We have used Budget before with good luck and good rates. You have to shuttle to the Port, but we were first in line and were taken there with luggage before the gates were open. Are you flying into Orlando - if so, can you use the Disney transportation option?

Thanks! I love this board, I've learned so much. We were on Carnival last summer, and RC a few years back. I hear Disney is the best, and we are really in need of a vaca!!

We're from the Des Moines area. My daughter's best friend is in the family we will be joining.

My 11 year old DD and I are joining a fam of 6 and their friend on the July 11 sailing of the Wonder. This is our first Disney cruise and we can't wait!!!:yay:

Welcome aboard! We're really looking forward to the cruise too! It is DH (Mark) and I, but we've sailed with a number of our fellow cruisers before.

There is a DIS meet scheduled for 3pm on Sunday in the promenade lounge. Hope you can join us.

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

WELCOME!!! :welcome::welcome:

I was born and raised in Omaha, and we have lots of family in several towns in Iowa. In fact, I just got back from there less than a week ago.

I'm happy to report I just finished making our FE gifts. I'm happy with how they came out. They aren't perfect but made with love. :)

Cannot say I was born in Omaha.
Can't even say I have been to Omaha.

I may have flown over it...does that count????:rotfl:

I'm excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What we did when Megan was married on Castaway Cay was to go have lunch at Parrot Cay after the reception (and Nick's timing is about right) and then put swimsuits on and got off the ship to enjoy the rest of the day on the beach. Eating at Parrot Cay was much easier than going down and wasting precious time trying to get in line at Cookie's.

The lady assigned to help us out with the wedding planning originally told us we'd be in palo on deck 10 with a spectacular view of the island... we got our verification paperwork in and apparently our 42 people wedding group is too big for palo so now instead of cramming into palo they are going to put us in the Cadillac Lounge on deck 3.... I'm still hoping we can change their mind on the ship and cram in to Palo.

Jim, I think Tuesday is PIRATE.......:thumbsup2

And those of us who made Pirate costumes are hauling them along.....LEt me guess that would be ...ME...

We will have our pirate costumes too assuming we can fit them in.

Picture both of those places in your head. There's just as much room in Palo as there is in the Cadillac Lounge. :confused3:confused3

Looking at it one way, where we all are will be FUN and WONDERFUL no matter what.
Looking at it the other way....Cadillac Lounge is darker and stuffier....although it DOES have windows.

Nick - good luck with the wedding planner. It must be disapppointing to have one idea and then have the wedding planner nix it. I hope she (and the disney Wonder) do change their minds. The other option is that you sic this group of crazy dissers on her.... Seriously, I expect that they were only going to open a portion of Palo's rather than the entire restuarant. And wherever we are it will be a wonder wedding day on Castaway Cay.....

See....according to the map, Palo is bigger.

When they have the reception in Palo, they generally have it in the very center of the room, where they have the buffet food set up at brunch, and there are two round benches that people can sit at. They don't set up any tables, and try to keep everyone gathered in that central spot.

Personally, for what you pay for a wedding onboard, it wouldn't hurt a thing to have them move a few more tables out of the way and provide some chairs at Palo.
If I know Virgil like I think I do, he'll see to it that the reception is held in Palo....no doubt about it.

This is the one chance our babies have a chance to be in Palos.

I would hate to be you and feel the anger of 4 teenage girls who don't get a chance to make it to Palos. :scared1:
