July 10, 2011--DIS PEEPS reunite on the Disney Dream!

I've been reading the same thing. My nearly 14-year-old plans to go to the Vibe as well. I also signed him up for "The Wild Side" teen excursion on our 2nd CC day. It specifies 13- to 17-year-olds and he is very excited about spending the day with his fellow teens :thumbsup2

My DD13 is also highly interested in the "Wide Side" teen excursion. Hoping to book it for her in just one week!

I didn't cancel the massage. So I still have it.

Well that is good. I get to book on Tuesday so I'll let you know how I make out. Are you doing anything on CC? I'm thinking Destiny will not want to do the sting ray thing.

Hi camikey, why dont you think about the water trike hire, it looks good fun. Would you daughter try snorkelling? My daughter did it when she was 6 and used a life jacket to give her confidence

I tried to talk Emily into the stingray again but she said no. Don't want to scare her. I was thinking about trying the trikes but not sure if I would have the energy to pedal it. Last time we were on CC we did not tour the island. We only went to the family beceach and Cookies to eat. We may walk around a bit.

My daughter would pedal for a split second and then I'd be on my own. I am going to try snorkeling with her before we go. I know the pool at the YMCA will not let us practice there so I'll have to see if I can find someone with a pool. I'm gonna show her the choices this weekend so I am ready to book on Tuesday in the wee AM hours.

I am really hoping that my children will do the pedalling, I am on vacation after all!:rotfl: I guess that we will only last a few minutes too. Its our first cruise but it seems that there is so much to do on the ship I think a welcomed rest will be needed at CC

AGREED!!!!!!:lmao:

It's lurker Cheri here. Just found DisneyZell's pre-trip report. Go check it out if you haven't already seen it. Sounds like that the group that will take over the ship. Figment_Fan are you listening???

Still wish we were going with you all. Have a fabulous trip. Be wild and make memories :hippie:

Hi everyone. Had to find DisneyZell's trip report, pay off the cruise and THEN check in with everyone. Anybody else doing a trip report?

Went to WDW the first week in April. Still recovering. Each child took a friend - that means 2 10 year old girls and 2 16 year old boys. Best trip ever! Stayed at the Treehouses over at Saratoga Springs.
Loved my son's friend's comment: "They're real treehouses!" ME: What did you expect? Him: "A motel called the treehouses." Gotta love those magical moments.

Anyway, now it's time to get back to the cruise. I don't think we'll be doing the Fish Extender thingy.

Now, speaking of drinking. Okay, maybe we weren't speaking of it, I was just thinking it, anyway I digress. (I did just finish DisneyZell's pre-trip preport). Anybody heard if they are having a Cognac tasting. I've read about this, but haven't seen it. I (or we, including DW) have done the beer, martini, tequila, wine tastings. And I intend on doing any of them again as I get the chance, but would love to try the Cognac one. Please keep your ears open.

I gave up alcohol for Lent. Thus the thoughts are turning that way as it's almost over.

Can we start a fastpass option for the AquaDuck? Maybe a number system - "Now serving rider number 231." Then we can sit by the pool until our number is called.

Have any of you been studying or reading about the interactive pictures/artwork? I have read some articles about it, but I haven't read anything yet about the scavenger hunt that is mentioned in some of the articles. I guess it is something like a mystery game involving the artwork sending you searching for clues and other interactive pictures. Anyway, only 80 days left.

Hello everyone,

As other people have mentioned, DH started a Pre-trip report for this cruise. Hopefully it will make the time go faster! So, Figment_Fan...what day is your b-day on the cruise? It sounds like you would fit right in with DH and DFH (disney friend husband...I'm not sure what my DH used to describe them!) It sounds like there will not be any leftover alcohol at the end of this cruise! I would love your idea for the fastpass system for the aquaduck.

Since we are going to WDW the week before for the cruise, does anyone have any recommendations for dinner in the parks? DH is suggesting the Biergarten in Germany at Epcot. We usually don't do the really expensive meals, but we figure we'll do maybe one or two this time. They can be in any resort as we will have hoppers, but we are used to counter service (never had the dining plan since we always stay in a Marriott timeshare). So any and all opinions are welcome!

It really depends on what you like. But I have a couple suggestions of places we like. I noticed that you have in mind a buffet. My family really likes Trails End buffet over at Fort Wilderness. It's good ol fashioned country food. Ribs, fried chicken, carved meat (usually roast beef), cornbread, very homey. It's the cheapest buffet on property. I have three kids DD21, DS19&18 so that is a big bonus for us. We also really enjoy Beaches & Cream over at the Beach Club. This is a 50's diner type place with burgers, onion rings and ice cream sundaes and malts. We're not foodies, I'm sure you will get others that say these are just ok, but for our family of five big eaters, we can get away without breaking the bank too bad! Oh also, if it's just the two of you and you want a really nice quiet out of the way but really good food/steaks, try the Turf Club over at SSR!! It is a hidden gem!

The B-day is this weekend - Easter. I get to hit the big 5-0. How is it that I get older but never seem to grow up? (I jsut grow grey, gain weight, increase wrinkles) I look in the mirror and wonder who the old guy is. My 44 inch chest and 30 inch waist exchanged places last decade. I'm really worried with what happens next.

I asked my wife when I should start with my mid-life crisis. I wondered aloud when I should buy my sports car, search for a young girl-friend (of course, she'd have to not have good eyesight). Then I realized how much effort that would all be, so it won't happen.

Lent is almost over. Now it is time to put a bottle of vodka in the freezer so that Sunday night I can drink to old memories which I will soon forget anyway.

Hi again, it is Disneyzell in disguise! DH insisted I get my own login, so here it is. Thank you, DVCTigger for the suggestions. We are not foodies either, so these seem like they could be right up our alley! B/C we don't usually stay on property, we know next to nothing about the resort restaurants. We really might have to leave the kids in the room and try the Turf Club...we are always open to a night out by ourselves!

Biergarten is always good. Besides, they have good beer to go with the meal. If you do biergarten, make sure you get the reservations when the show is on.
If you like fish, seafood, I'd suggest Cape May Buffet.
We tried Boma for the first time when we were recently at WDW. It was awesome.
For potstickers, wings, then grilled chicken, beef, and shrimp - try O'hana's.

The first two are buffets. O'hana's is family style, all you can eat.

Good Luck. If more questions, get on allears.net and you can look up the menus.

Thanks Figment...all those sound good too. If we end up in Germany, how do you know when the show is? So many choices! I have heard great things about Boma and O'hana's. I guess no matter what we can't go wrong.

We love Boma and Ohana's as well! Actually, ironically those are the two dinners we will be going to after the cruise!! Staying two nights at BCV after the cruise. First time on the DDP with the kids, figure we will try to get the most bang for our buck! They can just be pretty pricey for five adults! Have fun with your choice, really don't think you can go wrong!

I highly recommend Sanaa in AKL Kidani. It had to be one of the best meals we ever had. Flying Fish in the Boardwalk is fabulous also, it is Signature Dining so it is two dining credits for dinner but only one for lunch. You can walk there from Epcot and then back into Epcot though.
