Julie's Jolly Journey (posts welcome)- I'm back...

Congrats on the new clippie! :jumping1: :jumping1:

You and I are moving at an almost identical pace. I've lost 20 pounds since March 1st. Doesn't it feel amazing? :D

Keep up the good work. You're going to look fabulous in June! ::yes::

Thanks everyone for stopping by and the encouragement.

Day 1 of the Mother's Day challenge- Did fine on food/points but no exercise today!:(

Kids are on spring break and I took them to the movies to see Scooby Doo 2 (which by the way I liked way better than the original) I was good in the movies- small diet coke only.

Then had to go to Target to get the kids some summer clothes - who made the rule they can grow over the winter anyway?

By the time we got home had to get DD to spanish tutor- so I missed lunch- and was super cranky for the rest of the night, although I did eat dinner. Of course I think its getting to be ****Warning Dax, Warning**** TOM, so that's probably a lot of it.

Actually I did try to start a tape Cruch Salsa style (what was I thinking?:rolleyes:not for the beginner ) but DS was too busy jumping around and stepping on my toes- so I gave that up too.
Gonna get up tomorrow and get an early walk in if the weather is good and try to tape again.

:D

That was a close call...I appreciate the forewarning!:wave2:

This TOM character seems to show up here an awful lot!

Later!

TOFGIA!

Dax

We'll have to start a TOM alert for Dax! I didn't get my exercise in for Day 1 either. We'll make up for it today though.

I'm glad you liked Scooby Doo 2. I'll be taking Dev next week when she'll be out of school.

Have a great day!

Thanks so much Tracy, Marsh and Doe-
These awards really make staying on track a lot of fun:teeth:

Desiree- My DS is 7 he really liked Scooby Doo 2- of course he likes to watch the cartoon version also. I liked the music so much, I went out and bought the soundtrack. I want to See Home on the Range also, maybe this weekend, since no baseball games for DS.

I got my exercise in on Tues- went for a long walk, still didn't get to any of the tapes, but I'm gonna soon.

Today was back to reality- after my 2 days off- back to work. It was very busy and a little stressful and all I could think of near the end of the day is getting home and going for a nice long walk.
It makes me laugh to think I am actually craving exercise:hyper:

And that's what we did, the whole family (even one of the dogs) went out and I felt so much better , all the day's stress was gone by the time we got back. I just hope this weather holds, with the extra evening hour, I should be able to walk everyday if its not raining.

Hey,

Just a brief word...A person who will rename nameless...(---, a deer, a female deer) went out and found two more guys on this site! I am no longer TOFGIA which I dearly cherished...I am now (drum roll please) 1 of 3!

I know what you mean about exercise being addictive, the first month and half or so, I had to drag myself out there, but now I love it. I will admit though that I have missed out the last 3 days on my walking, and I feel terrible, my legs ache, its almost like drug withdrawals I guess. Any have a nice weekend and give us a review of Home on the Range .

1 of 3 signing out!

Dax

Oh Dax, Dax,

With all the weigh you are losing- you were bound to lose the FG part of your TOFGIA anyway- so better sooner than later.:teeth:

We got in our walk tonight, all except DD, she snuck off for dinner and movies with friends. The nerve!

So I have been reading up on exercises to firm up your "backside" and they recommend lunges. Hmmm. They seem so innocent. But ohhh, I am aching now.
And of couse DS is telling me- like this mom, watch me, and doing about 10 to my 1. He's soooo special. :p

I don't document my food here, I keep a log of my points on paper, but I have been sticking to my points - except for that one night we went to Bugaboo Creek, no sites have any points or nutricianal information- probably because there are about a million calories in everything they serve! Oh but it was soooo good. But I weighed myself for the next two days and no gains, so I think the walking saved me. Gonna steer clear of that place for awhile.:o

Have a great one-

Hey Julie!
You are doing agreat job getting your exercise in!::yes:: I would love to walk outside more often, but the weather here in Ohio, just isn't cooperating yet. Any chance you could send warmer weather and some :sunny: our way? It would be much appreciated!:teeth:

If you do get a chance to see Home on the Range this weekend, can you post a review in your journal? My DDs want to go see it and we'd like to get an opinion about the movie. Thanks!

Have a great Friday!

Tracy:wave2:

Had a very busy weekend so just now getting on to post.

Tracy Here's all the sunshine I can send you today, :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: , it was rainy and over cast all day-
No walking yesterday, coz I already got my 5 days in.

I woke up with a very upset stomach today, which may have been a blessing in disguse, I didn't feel like eating much-so made it thru Easter dinner with 1/2 slice honeybaked ham, slice of turkey breast and about 1 tbsp of mac and cheese. No rolls, and no dessert. No chocolate bunnies, nothing. Just drinking lots of water to try to get past this.

I weighed in this morning -two more pounds gone- I have a few more till I can change the clippee, but considering the bloat fairy was visiting, I was quite pleased.

Didn't get to the movies this weekend- maybe next- so sorry no reviews of Home on the Range.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Easter!

Sounds like you are doing great. Good for you!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

We did see Home on the Range and it was very cute.:D

Sorry you weren't feeling well, but as you said it may have been a blessing in disguise. (unlike my tummy, which was feeling just fine, especially after eating all that chocolate!) OH my did I do bad yesterday!! :(

I didn't get to any movies this past weekend either. Next week is Kill Bill 2 though! I'll be there Friday night! :)

Have a happy Monday!

:jumping3: :jumping3: Two pounds gone!!! Buh-bye pounds! :wave2: No coming back, either!!

Wish my tummy would've been feeling bad on Easter, and on the days prior to Easter, oh, and yesterday too! :teeth: Oh well, I'm getting back on track again.

I hope you're feeling better! Enjoy your Tuesday! :sunny:

Well, I hope some of you got the sunshine I was sharing- coz we have had cold and wet for the last two days. So no outside walking-But anything to get rid of some of this pollen is a blessing.
I did drag myself onto the treadmill last night- almost talked myself out of it tonight- I had a icky day at work and tomorrow is gonna be more of the same. My better senses prevailed and I got my walk in. I flipped to Fit TV and ended up watching Galid?(sp?) and tried to keep up with him for the next 1/2 hour. I have a feeling I am going to be sore tomorrow.

Kept my points in line- and I am planning a little treat for myself- some spa time!

I think I am going to get a massage and a manicure and pedicure- I'm going to call tomorrow and set it up. I have been so good -and I think I deserve it. ::yes:: LOL

I'm trying to take the next step and start doing some weights and strength training, but I am a little afraid. We have a little "mini-gym" on the back porch we haven't used in years, but I think i'm afraid of hurting myself. I hurt my back several years ago and I still get pain sometimes- I don't want to overdo it. So if anyone has some words of advise or suggestions- I'm all ears.:earsboy: lol

Thanks everyone for checking in on me- have a great one-

Hey Julie!
Way to go on getting that exercise in! :Pinkbounc Plus, you are doing an awesome job with your points too! I say go ahead and reward yourself!::yes::

As to your weight training question... I workout using the FIRM videos. They combine weight training with aerobics for maximum calorie burn. You start out with no weights and gradually build up to using heavier weights. (i.e. 10-12 pounds) The workouts are great w/out the weights because you use your own body as resistance. Then, you gradually add the weights and add muscle. Whatever you choose, please make sure that you take it slowly because you wouldn't want to re-injure your back.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday Julie! Take care!
Tracy:wave2:

Hi Julie!

You're doing such a great job! Belated congratulations on the pounds lost and great job with the exercise! ::yes::

The spa treatment sounds heavenly. Do you have room for one more? All I ask is for the massage. I don't have nails, and I don't want anyone touching my feet, so I wouldn't be too much trouble. :teeth: Enjoy your treat!

Keep up the good work! You're making great strides!

~Angela :wave2:

Hey Julie...thanks for replying to my journal. You seem to be doing your exercise and eating healthy food. I am glad that you are feeling better now. :sunny:
