I found the personal journals and decided to create one as well. I have pasted my committment log from the other thread here so it is close by.
Jan 29th 2007 to March 22nd 2007.
The dates the DH are away which also coinside with my short term goal dates.

Here is to a new and healthier Julia in 2007!


"I just found this area on the boards only because I saw the Clips in the smilies when i was checking them out. I had to find out what WISH was. After reading a few posts, I decided that I would also like to join. I have needed to lose weight for most of my life and have tried many times.

I am making a stand now! I will reafirm my commitment to Nutrisystem and now WISH. I will take out the tread mill and walk to my favorite Disney movies and dance to my own beat. I will Wiggle Jiggle and Giggle at least twice a week to remember how fun working out can be.

My short term goal: DH is going away on monday for 2 months for work so my goal will be to lose 20 pounds and fit into my size 20s again!"

You will get lots of support, help & advice here.
It must be hard for you with DH away for so long, but hopefully concentrating on your new healthier lifestyle will help :)
 
That's the military for you. At least he isn't going over seas, Just back home to Canada to learn something new. That is good!

Now he won't sabotage me either. I'll have 2 months to get into a routine and make it stick! When he gets back, he can either join me or support me or both! I won't accept anything else!

Granted I say that now, But when he does get home, It will be much harder to commit to that.
 
You can do it Julia - just make sure DH knows your serious about it :)

I went out and shopped a bit today. I started on the road of healthyness.
I stopped at Target and purchased a pilates dvd set. It was on sale and came with a body band.
My other stop was the dance studio where I scheduled my wiggle jiggle giggle classes and 2 dance for fitness classes.

I am travelling for a week at the end of February so was unable to book for the full month. There is always March!

:goodvibes I'll find out tonight. My first class. It's a ladies only class that is offered at the ballroom dance centre near my house. In January, they did some belly dance movements... So, I'm not sure what to expect tonight.
I can't wait to go though. Speaking of which, I need to go buy shoes for class.
 
This class was not exactly what I was expecting. I think once I am bit more comfortable with the "routine" I'll be able to relax a little and have fun. The class had a little salsa, cha cha, flamanco and free style to it. It is very interesting and sexy. This class is to help ladies feel comfortable with themselves when doing Latin dances. Lots of hip action. I think it will begin to be fun once I know the routine better.

After seeing myself in the mirror doing those moves, I knew that I had to make a more serious effort to lose some weight.

I have to get out of the feeling sorry for myself rut I am in and start moving!

At 1 am I went to Walmart and bought new work out clothes, walking shoes and a case of water. Tomorrow (today - friday) I am going to work it!
 
Juliana--WTG for taking the class....I know I would have a HARD time taking a class like that..other than the fact that I cannot dance!! And don't feel sorry for yourself ever....you are taking a step to being more healthy but just starting to get into a routine!!! Keep up the good work--you are doing great already!!
 
Went to my first dance for fitness class. Thankfully, I know some of the basic dance moves from when my husband and I started taking Ballroom dance in September last year. The class was fabulous! I was VERY happy to find that it wasn't a typical arobics style class. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Dance for Fitnes. We did a bit of Cha Cha, Waltz, Fox Trot, Salsa, Line dance and Vienesse Waltz. It was amazing! I may actually sign up for thursdays classes as well before my Wiggle Giggle Jiggle class. With an hour break in the middle, I think I could handle the workout load. Though for now I will work with what i have and when I make my schedule for March, I'll add the extra days. Though I might be adding actual dance classes as well. I can't wait to see the march Calendar!

I had so much fun last night at the fitness class, I went out to day and bought myself a pair of Jazz runners. I am so psyched for this class!

That's awesome that you really enjoyed your class!! That is great motivation to go each class, if you love it you are less likely to miss it!

Second Class was MUCH better then the first. I was able to wiggle and Jiggle all the right parts and giggled my way through the routine. We started a second routine and I think it's going to be a very fun class. When I get back from visiting DH in Canada on the 28th, I am going to sign up for the class for every thursday night. It definately helps with the self esteem when everyone is having fun and complimenting you on your "moves".
I can't wait for Thursday to come!

Thank you for all the incouragement. I am having fun dancing. It's something I have always loved to do. I am just glad that I was able to find a place that offers fun dance classes.
 
After a long and crazy trip to Ottawa Canada to visit my mom and husband I have finially made it home. Flight cancellations, lost luggage, and fire alarms going off at midnight, all make for a VERY long Trip. I am glad to be home and ready to once again become the dancing fool I know I can be.

In our Wiggle Jiggle Giggle class, we've been learning a routine that they are thinking about performing at the April mixer. I have a LOT of practice to do. I can't wait!

I noticed you visited pop at wdw we've just booked their for next year, did you like it, any tips??

Pop is a very nice resort. We were very comfortable. I would suggest, taking a walk through all the decades to see all the displays. We missed going through the 1950s. We were hardly there. When we were, we were sleeping or passing the Hippy Dippy Pool to head to buses. Next time I'm going to try for a longer stay and get a chance to experience more of the area where I am staying. We had a wonderful time there.
 
Thanks for the info, we are their for 15 nights so will hopefully get to explore, if i can stand the heat!! Going in Aug never been then!!
