Best DCA rides for “fishing”

Hi. I’m familiar with the “fishing for MEPs” process. But I can’t remember which rides are best to try for in DCA at park opening. If anyone can help (ideally before Friday morning!) that would be great. Thanks!

Guardians and Incredicoaster go down alot. Normally Id bet more on Incredicoaster but I think Guardians is already not running on all elevators.

I've had good luck with Goofy's Sky School in the past.

Not Guardians.. it's rare that all three gantries are down. Goofy's is my go to. Especially if rain is in the forecast.

I think another thing important to note is that not all MEPs are equal. If OP wants a MEP that can be used on a top tier ride, then the original ride it converted from needs also to have been a top tier ride. I haven't tracked entirely which rides are on which tier. Guardians, Indy, Space, etc. are top tier rides. I'm not sure Goofy's makes the cut. I'm sure someone on this board has the most recent list. We got a couple MEPs a couple of weeks ago, and I always double-check the wording listing rides it says it can be used for because I never remember the entire list and also because the lists can be dynamic in that Disney sometimes shifts which tier a ride is considered to be and what rides are included.

FWIW this is my compilation, but I haven't checked on its accuracy in a while.

Tier one is: MMRR, Indy, Matterhorn, Space, GotG, Toy Story and Web Slingers.
Tier two is: Autopia, Buzz, BTMRR, Haunted, Small World, Smuggler's Run, Roger Rabbit, Pirates and Star Tours. In DCA: Goofy's, Grizzly, Incredicoaster, Soarin', Monster Inc. and a few non LL rides like Golden Zephyr, Inside Out, Carousel, Jellyfish, Luigi's, Mater's, Pixar Pal-a-round, Swings and Little Mermaid.

Also, Tiana's is on its own level, meaning you can't use a MEP from Matterhorn or Space on it. But you can use one from Tiana's on pretty much everything else.

Also bear in mind, while you can't modify a DL lightning lane to a DCA attraction or vice-versa, you can use an MEP in either park.

It's in the 2nd tier. We usually use our MEPs from Goofy's on IC and Soarin'.

Goofy's Sky School and Spiderman for me have been attractions I grab and have gotten lucky with closing down and getting on rides I wanted to get on, lol

I'd rather fo Luigi's at night over either of those two attractions

Thanks for the tips, everyone! We didn’t manage to get an MEP as nothing broke down at the right times. Until 10:45 pm Friday (15 minutes before closing) Roger Rabbit broke down. When our LL converted, it gave us an MEP for Saturday! Second tier but it saves us burning the two-hour LL booking time so that’s great!

I have never gotten one that moves to the next day! That’s is crazy good luck! Many times I’ve left the park with an unused MEP.

Not sure what the specific rules might be now but in the Maxpass days if you had a ride go down in the last hour and FP convert to a multi pass, it would be valid the next day.

It’s why on multiday trips I always make sure get a LL and/or modify LLs to the last hour even if we have left the parks. You never know.
