NEW YORK - Julia Child, whose warbling, encouraging voice and able hands brought the intricacies of French cuisine to American home cooks through her television series and books, died in her sleep three days before what would have been her 92nd birthday.

So sad. I'm glad to have learned many things watching her shows.

Did you know the Smithosonian Museum in DC has her entire kitchen set up. I peeked thru an opening, back in 2002 cause it wasn't officially opened yet. I want to go back and see it. I guess she donated to the museum when she moved out to CA

I saw it! It was pretty neat!

JC was a big hero to me. I grew up on a diet of pot roast, meat loaf, tuna casserole, etc. I first realized that there was more to food by watching her French Chef show on PBS. I've got a larger waistline, but a richer life, because of her. She was a true icon!
