Hi All,
I know that some mom (or dad) that is as neurotic as me will know the answer to this question.........
If I pack a bunch of juice boxes in my luggage (not carry on) will they leak/explode/make a huge mess in my suitcase during flight?? I have them double bagged, but don't know if I should even bother taking the risk. We are staying at a Disney Resort with no car, so access to a supermarket is limited. Thanks
LEAVING TOMORROW!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I've never run into that problem. I know that with soda cans, because of the pressure, same with bags of chips, they will get bigger, and with the pressure it will explode. Just be sure that there is no heavy items on the boxes. Have a fun trip.

You are probably better off bringing the Juice Boxes (double bagged and everything) in your carryon luggage, as (I believe) the passenger cabin is better pressurized than the luggage:scratchin . I may be completely wrong on this tho. You might want to call the airline and see what they think.

As for the supermarket access issue, you can order groceries delivered to you resort room from Goodings . They are a bit pricey and there is a $10 delivery fee, but having some food in the room can save $$ and time in on those busy touring mornings, when you just have breakfast in the room and bolt to the buses/ boats/ monorails... for a fun-filled morning of touring. Just a thought.

Have fun!:sunny:

LOVE the idea of the grocery store ordering and delivery!! Can you give me anymore info on this? Is it online ordering or over the phone? How would I get in contact with this store? Is it possible to order now for it to be delivered tomorrow if I don't know room assignment yet?? Sounds too good to be true!!!!

Just FYI: if you plan to keep them on ice in your room, you would be better off with juice pouches instead; things like Minute Maid Coolers. When juice boxes are put on ice, they sweat, and the waxed-paper cartons disintegrate.

Thanks. Thought I would just keep them warm and then put them in a water bottle with ice as we need them during the day. Good suggestion tho......

Do you have the possibility of purchasing them in Orlando? If you have a towncar service, they will stop at a grocery store along the way. If you have a rental car, better still. The only way it wouldn't work for you to purchase locally would be if you are taking a taxi or Mears shuttle.

Really, I hotlinked the website right there, and I'll do it again here: www.goodings.com . They really do deliver groceries to the room, and they deliver to all the WDW area hotels all the time. You tell them what time you expect to check in and they get them there. They will coordinate getting them to you with your hotel. After all you are paying a delivery fee and somewhat higher than normal prices, but the convenience is unbeatable. So click on that link and read their site. It'll give you all the info you will need. And that way you won't have to worry so much about juicebox explosions in your suitcase.

(and what's with the guy who always travels with a toaster?:rotfl: )

Just saw this on another thread. Apparently there are other services that deliver to your room in the Orlando area. One is www.wegoshop.com . The folks on the other thread (on the DVC board) seem to speak highly of it. Sooooo, it seems you have options.

Thank you...very helpful. Only problem being that on both websites you need to order 48 hours before delivery. And they require a room phone number. So by the time we get down there and order, we are only staying 5 days, it will be too late. Also, just for FYI, you need to order over $50.00 worth of food for delivery and the fee is $10.00. Would be great for anyone staying a week or longer.

We packed Juicy Juice boxes, snack cakes, ind. packs of chips, raisins, Cherrios, and fruit snacks. Our DS was only 2 yrs old then, and you'd never know when he'd be hungry or thirsty, and I didn't want to have to worry about it or go broke trying to keep up. Most snack foods in the world are expensive and a lot more than he would of ever been able to eat. No spills, nothing ruined! The only thing that we seen an issue with, was the boxes were crushed a little..........open them up and things were still fine!
