Dear Judge Presenza:
The Fraternal Order Police is concerned and disturbed by the comments made by Judge Jimenez, who was presiding at the 8th District preliminary hearing for defendants on the robbery of a convenience store. Several Law Enforcement Officers and others have contacted the F.O.P. regarding these comments made to the defendants in open court.
Judge Jimenez is reported to have made the following statements in open court (paraphrasing): If you are going to commit a robbery this is the way to do it, without a gun. Let's give credit where credit is due.
On behalf of the 14,500 members ofthe Fraternal Order of Police and the community at large, I would like to publicly state our displeasure with these inappropriate comments and call on Judge Jimenez to repudiate these remarks.
