Jude had been eating better, and seems to feel okay so I was looking forward to his first visit back to the vet after being on Peroxicam. When I saw that he had gained 1.4 lbs, I was thrilled. The vet examined him and said that his urethra felt less rope like, and it was a good sign that he was having yellow urine with just occasional blood in it. Jude liked the attention and I felt extremely optimistic, the best I had felt since his diagnosis of TCC. The Vet asked me if I wanted to get an ultrasound because the vet. radiologist was coming in. We both thought it was a good idea so I hung out for 2 hours until it was time to pick him up. Because he seemed clinically better to me, I was sure it was going to be good news. It was worse that either of us thought. He has not only a urethral tumor, but it involves his bladder, one ureter resulting a blockage of one kidney, his prostate looks bad and he has one lymph node near his spine. Dr. G gave him 60 days. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. I called his previous owner/breeder who knows the radiologist and she confirmed it with her as well. He is getting anything he wants to eat, rides in the car, etc. His previous owner is looking into any new data on chemotherapy but I don't think there is anything positive after metastasis. She is coming to visit him next Monday. I am so sad.
