Carl Anderson, whose duet with Gloria Loring, "Friends & Lovers", got to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986, died Tuesday (February 24) of leukemia. He was 58. Carl also portrayed Judas in the Broadway and film versions of "Jesus Christ, Superstar."

On film, Carl also appeared in "The Color Purple," and he guest starred on several television shows including "The Rockford Files," "Magnum, "P.I.," "Starsky & Hutch" and "The Incredible Hulk."

That's a shame. I loved him Jesus Christ, Superstore. He was so emotive and musical. He did a terrific job. I've never seen him in anything else in the movies and tv though I looked. Looks like he had moderate success in show business.

I just saw him a year ago here in Philadelphia. It must have been very fast.
