We juts added ono our DVC contract while on the Magic last week. We took advantage of the deal they were offering. NOw not sure we need 150 more points. Thanks for any thoughts.........

If you are really uncertain I THINK you have 10 days under FL law to cancel. I could be wrong, google timeshare cancellations. I may have ran across it there. Keep us posted :thumbsup2

I thought u had 30days to do this. I could be wrong though, because this was in So Cal

I cancelled my first DVC contract within 10 days when I purchased at WDW. I would pull out your paperwork, and make sure you dot your i's and cross your t's when you cancel. Follow their directions exactly, and all should go fine. No problem getting the deposit back either.

To be clear, there is a section in your paperwork that talks about when and how to cancel.

Thanks I am going to think about it some more.. Just not thinking we need so many points now!!!!!!!

like everyone else said , find out NOW how long you have to cancel the contract then think about it.

If the time has already passed , there's nothing to think about you own more points but if you can still cancel you want to know until when you have .

If your still not sure , I would cancel and then think about it and buy more points when your sure .

If you are going through with the purchase, you might want to consider at least splitting it to 2 -75 pt or 3- 50 pt contracts. That will give you more flexibility should you later decide 150 add'l points is actually too many.

Thanks I am going to call today and see if I can make it smaller......

I'm not surprised you regret it. Everyone adding on here on the Dis seems to be contagious. With transfer and renting options a little less flexible now there is no reason to have excess points.

I've sold off a lot of my points and I can tell you selling and receiving that check was a far better feeling than sending it to DVC. We still have enough for yearly trip or two but aren't limited as to where and when we can travel.

Rescing the contract if you are within the 10 days. If not give Tom a call, he'll gladly sel them for you.

Good luck.

I am going to call today. I just got all of the paperwork on Wed. SO i should be ok to cancel it and within the time frame.

I jsut feel that we will have way to many points now we always have extra left as it is now....I think DH got caught up in the magic while onbaord.......

I don't regret adding on, but I know what you are thinking. I too felt that we probably had more point than we really needed after I added on at SSR last year. I also think that I might want points at AKV or CV (if/when it happens). So, I'm in the process of selling my OKW contract now, and keeping the SSR one (for now). Then, I might add-on something smaller at AKV and sell the SSR contract.

With the enforcment of the transfer policy, it really makes it difficult to rent points to other members (which is what I preferred to do). So, now I just want enough points for 1 or 2 trips to WDW each year in a studio.

I agree.

DH and I bought 2 -150 point contracts while on the 11 day with the full intention of selling the 350 BWV that we'd already purchased. However, as soon as we got home, we found out we're having our first grandbaby.

Now, Nana and Beeb will certainly want to take the grandbaby to WDW and cruising so we've decided to hang on to the 350 BWV and the 2 - 150 SSRs for a few years.
