Thanks to the disk-cluttering habits of Microsoft Windows I was able to dig up all the 2010 Point Charts that DVC published, then pulled (Windows had saved them all to my Temporary Internet Files folder). I know that it would drive me CRAZY to have everyone talking about them, but not get to see them myself, so I converted them to JPGS and uploaded them to Photobucket for all to see:

Okay...I'm thoroughly impressed!!! :worship:

Thank you for taking the time to do this. :thumbsup2 I went out to the member website, and of course, the link was removed when I got there.

thanks too--when they put the links back up we'll be able to see if there are further changes!

I'm interested to know why they pulled them...:confused3 I thought it was strange that they made these changes to lower weekend and raise weekday points, yet the most recent charts (BLT and VGC) have crazy high weekend points... Did BLT change from 2009 - 2010? Doesn't look like VGC did except a few minor date changes...

Way to go!!! Now I can stay up all night figuring out how mad I am about the BWV reallocation! pirate:

Uggghhh....

This makes me absolutely sick...

I had a spring break trip planned, taking my kids and my parents to AKV for a Su-Th in a standard 2BR. It was supposed to be 205 points. That would require me to use all of my 2010 and all of my 2011 points, plus the 5 I have left from 2009. Now, it will be 230 points, which means we can't do it. My parents have been looking forward to this trip ever since we bought DVC back in September. It was supposed to be our first trip as owners. Then, DH and I decided that we would use some of our 2009 points (the one's we weren't supposed to need for the 2010 trip) and take a trip a year early. Now, our only option is to try and downgrade our June trip from a 1BR to a studio, or hope that we can get a value 2BR for April 2010, since that will be all we can afford.

A little more notice would have been nice. People who own DVC tend to plan a year or more in advance, especially when you consider those who have to skip a year and bank points to take a trip. Now, I am out of luck... I have non-refundable airfare for our June trip so cancelling it is out of the question. I certainly can't "take back" the invitation to my parents for spring break. I also have no intention of booking one night on cash since that defeats the purpose of owning DVC. If I wanted to pay cash, I would be staying at Pop Century, not AKV! I am literally sick about this....

Sounds like you just need to buy a small contract on resales. If you just bought, you seem to want more, need more. Buy now before resale prices go up. JW

Me, too! I just saw the original thread and went to check our 2010 vacation but I can't. Thank you, thank you, thank you, OP!

Whats weird is a 1 bedroom at SSR in the value season is 178 for 2010 and for the 2008-2009 it was 182. :confused3

I just figured out our standard vacations for each year. We are always there for a F and S night and never there for a full week.

For us, spring vacation in a one bedroom at AKV goes down from 208 to 202. We own 200 there so every few years I'll have to do a studio instead of one bedroom or adjust our days. Still, this is an improvement as we'd have had to do the same thing under the old higher points.

For our F&W festival trip each October over a long weekend, we now use 134 points at BWV for our 1 bedroom instead of 142. Another good change for us. We own 150, so every other year we can stay an extra Thurs night and have a longer trip.

For our December trip at VWL, this is the odd one. For our 1 bedroom, it will be 180 points where before it was 178. We own 180 exactly so we're still fine. But the change essentially is that they have made the early December time frame cost MORE points per week than before. Now it is 206 where it was 200 per full week. I guess DVC figured out how popular early December is!

So, net I am ahead 6 at AKV, ahead 8 at BWV and behind 2 at VWL for a total per year of saving 12 points. For us this is a good change on paper. My only concern will be December increase points because that is the timeframe when we will do our large family vacations. I think the years of saving 12 points per year will disappear rapidly when I have to spend more points in December to get 12 people or so there for our family reunions. In other words, over a period of years, I think this change will be neutral for us.

What I don't understand is that BLT had a chart for both 2009 and 2010, how could they change next year? I can sort of understand a hotel that hasn't been published yet but one that was published and given to us new buyers weeks/months ago. Basically they are changing the point structure 4 months after it opens, and long after we have mapped out our 2009 and 2010 trips. Yikes, I guess I have some math to do again. Any thoughts?

P.S. thanks for posting these!

Thanks ever so much for posting the charts.:thumbsup2

I have printed them out and worked out that next years holiday, if it were the same as this years, would cost me 40 extra points.:sad1:

Will I be adding on? No!
Will I be staying at weekends? No!
Will I be spending the same amount of time on property? No!
Will I be spending less time on property and therefore spending less money at Disney? Yes!
