So we are going to WDW and a Disney cruise. I want to do some matching shirts, but I have a few questions after perusing this site and others. I feel like they are basic questions, but I can't seem to find the answers....

1. if I use a jpeg document, is it possible to get it printed through a shirt making company like cafe press or custom ink? has anyone been denied printing their image because of Disney concerns (i.e. copyright)?

2. I don't have access to a color printer, can I get the jpeg image printed onto magnet sheets or iron on transfer sheets at a printing place like staples, office max, etc?

3. I have been toying with the idea of a silhouette to help me with some projects such as making above shirts and magnets. Is it truly as easily as it looks? do the additional costs add up quickly or is it more continual maintenance?

Thanks. I am trying to decide between DIY or buy, but I am feeling like all that I want to do will add up quickly.

Thanks and much appreciated.

Second, My suggestions in red to your questions.

With copyright, you might have issues.. You will just need to call and ask them directly. I have NOT utilized any companies as I do mine myself.

2. I don't have access to a color printer, can I get the jpeg image printed onto magnet sheets or iron on transfer sheets at a printing place like staples, office max, etc?

I have not utilized them for something like that; I would just call and inquire and ask if the file needs to be in a certain format, a mirror image, etc

3. I have been toying with the idea of a silhouette to help me with some projects such as making above shirts and magnets. Is it truly as easily as it looks? do the additional costs add up quickly or is it more continual maintenance?

Continual maintenance? I have not had to do any maintenance on mine besides replacing the blade for cutting because of the number of cuts I make. Yes it is truly as easy as it looks. There is some trial are error but there are amazing youtube or blog tutorials to help you. I have cut scrapbook papers are various weights and textures and I have cut vinyl for t-shirts. With the vinyl you need to get what is best for you project. Self adhesive vinyl is used for example on cups.. but the best t-shirt vinyl is heat transfer vinyl (HTV). There is also certain ways you need to cut.. with t-shirts you have to cut the vinyl on a mirror image.

I love my silhouette!! I use it daily in my scrapbooking and any special projects are that much easier to make when I have my silhouette handy.

I hope that helps!
