I seemed to have totally missed this while we were in Epcot last time. On the map it said something about Figment and how cute this ride was -- I thought it might be cute for our younger ones -- 5 and under, as only the 5 yr old will ride M:S or TT... the main reason we visit this park. We've considered leaving this park off our short itinerary this time... or to just have our 5y/o go on EE day w/one of us adults. Is Journey into Imagination worth making the trek for all of us (2 adults, 4 kids under age 5?) -- that would likely be the determining factor for us to include Epcot... That and the characters on holiday where they would see a bunch of characters at one time... kids loved that last time... but I know they see characters all over the place at MK anyway. We wouldn't take the time to do any/many of the shows in WS... have some interest in American Adventure but truly, the kids would't cooperate with show after show... so pls. give me opinons on if we should include Epcot this time... and what's worth seeing there for kids this age who may not go back for another 3-5 yrs or so.

If JIYI is the only reason for doing Epcot, then I'd say no. I like JIYI and the kids do but we go to Epcot for everything else. We usually will stop and do JIYI since it's right by HISTA and that's a must for me.

My kids adore Epcot. We did that Journey into Imagination several times and they also liked Spaceship Earth. There are the squirt fountains they like to splash in. There's a nice playground indoors as you exit the Mission Space ride... kind of like a McDonalds playground only with a space theme. My little ones liked that. They also liked the character meal in The Land.. the restaurant slowly rotates. So, even if you don't go to the countries, there is enough entertainment to do in Future World, including a few short shows. Enjoy!

My kids don't really care for JIYI. It's pretty noisy and at the end the noise is very sudden and a little frightening. But the love Epcot. Spaceship Earth and Living with the Land are two of their favorites. (Although Ice Station Cool is probably their most favorite there.) I couldn't imagine leaving this park off my itinerary, but if your kids didn't really like it before, adding JIYI isn't going to make or break it.

JIYI is not worth a visit to Epcot. However, Epcot is a wonderful place. Hope you get to go:earsboy:

We have three year old twins and a five year old. We pretty much skipped Epcot the last time when they were 2 and 4 except for one evening to see Illuminations. On this trip I think we will go to Epcot in the evening around 5 o'clock. I figure we can leasurly stroll around the park try a ride or two that I have heard good things about and grab a snack at one of the counter service areas. I figure this may or may not peek their interest in this park and each trip they will want to explore this park more and more.

I prefer the way it used to be, but it's still pretty good, and you might want to go see it if you're already going to be at Epcot. DS likes the activities at the end particularly. The "smell effects" are kind of interesting, too.

I was disappointed in the attraction this time. I certainly wouldn't bring the whole group to EPCOT for that ride.

Kids at EPCOT seemed to be enjoying the non attraction things the best.

The double decker bus full of characters at park opening, the fountains, the bubbles coming out of the NEMO sculpture, more fountains.....lol

Each country had a craft project, the kids seemed to be racing to get to those booths.

If it's a short trip, I wouldn't worry about taking in EPCOT. Let them enjoy MK and MGM or AK.

They'll be better able to take in the size of EPCOT when you come back in 4 or 5 years.

Have fun!

The boat ride in Mexico is also very nice for the 3-5 set.

Oh yes. My 3 yr old rode this 8 times last October. He was starting to get a little cranky and DH rode it with him to calm him down. The girls and I had a nice dinner while the boys rode the ride!:p

I second that!!!

Imagination after it's inception was fun and cute. The second pass wasn't good, I believe they got rid of figment. It's a decent ride now (figment is back), but I also found it to be extremely loud. I'm only 31, so no real aversion to noise, I still go to concerts, etc. However, the noise level in imagination seems to be unnecessary and doesn't add anything to the ride.

I wouldn't go to Epcot just for that ride, but EPCOT as a whole is wonderful!
