Journey Into Imagination Question

I rode the Figment ride a couple of months ago. I hadn't ridden it in a while and it seemed different than I remember it. Did they change it in the last few years?

We have ridden it each October for the last 5 years and don't recall anything different about it. Maybe someone else knows.

They've changed it a few times since the original. For some reason they decided that the original ride wasn't up to snuff and they overhauled it. When they started to get a whole lot of negative feedback about the new ride, they changed it again and added Figment back to the attraction. They couldn't revert it back to the way it was originally because they destroyed the original props after the first overhaul. So, I guess we're stuck with what we got now.

They have changed that ride TWICE since the original. The first was Journey Into Your Imagination, which just was terrible and NO FIGMENT... Then Journey Into Imagination with Figment, which is still pretty crappy, but not AS bad. Rumors say Dreamfinder will be returning and the orginal ride may be instated due to popular demand. This would be a FIRST for Disney History

How long is "a while"?

This is the third version of the "Imagination" ride at WDW.

The first version was much LOVED.

The second version was reviled.

This (third) version, now, is just a "band-aid" version between the first and second, not NEARLY as magical (or half as LONG) as the original ride that ran for YEARS to overflow crowds... before its "update" and subsequent lack of popularity.

Could someone put dates on these changes? I know we rode something in Epcot that I really liked and that was 1996. I think I'm getting the "Imagination" and the ride at Horizans confused. We've been back to Epcot many times but for some reason never rode the Imagination ride until 10/05 so I missed all the changes.

I rode the ride in April of this year, so it obviously had Figment. The last time I had ridden it before that was probably 1996 or 97. I am pretty sure it had Figment in it then too. I would have thrown a fit had I gone to ride it and Figment were nowhere to be found. He was my FAVORITE character as a child.

I actually kind of liked the version they have now (except the bad smell - what is it with Disney and bad smells? Didn't they learn from Stitch? ugh). I remember loving the old one too, though.

if you smell the skunk smell and stink bug smell as if it was just a fragrence and not have the idea it will smell bad you will relize its really just a variation of a coffee smell.
