Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Hi Julie, you did so well with food at the balloon festival. I am really proud of you. I have to laugh at your husband's food, he sounds just like Dan! I had no idea sleep number beds were that expensive, sheesh that's a lot for a bed!

Keep up the good work, you are really back on track. I thougth your food this past weekend was very good. Don't be so hard on yourself!

Well, I'm back, and as usual, have strayed. I haven't weighed here, but the gym scale said 177!! :scared1: Up like 5 lbs since last weigh in there. OUCH!!!

Stress, Birthday cake, busy, garage sale, no time to exercise, not journaling. All my fault and ALL CONTROLABLE!!!!!!!!! Oh well.......

Last I was on was 10/14. I went with DS19 to take his car to BrakeMasters to get checked. Brake pads are fine, it's that the parts are old/rusty/grimy that it squeaks. No big deal. DS19 called at 11:57 p.m. from work. At Brakemasters he had taken his ignition key off & given it to them to use, leaving his door key on his keyring. Got out at work & left keyring on seat. Noticed after work & called me. Got up, threw on a sweatshirt & drove to get him...no spare key (we forgot to get one made). Tried for 30 min to open w/ coat hanger, no luck. Back home. Crawled in bed & DH asks if we have the car. No. Tells me we need to go back out & either get it open or call a locksmith & get it open as it will get stolen. So back out of bed, dressed, got DS19 & went to try again. No luck. Tried 3 locksmiths & all said at least a 3 hour wait. Finally just came home....now 2:30 a.m. Back in bed at 3, took dogs out at 4 as DH said they needed it, up at 5:45 (now DH birthday).

Made 2 lunches, 3 breakfasts, took DS19 to bus, DD to school, back home to wait for DS22. (Who better to ask to try to break into a car????/) DS19 remembered he had French homework & as I was walking out to tell him I was ready to leave for the bus I see him cutting apart one of our '6 on a sheet' family pictures....he needed 1 for class. I could have cried! Oh well, it was already done. Get back from dropping him & notice he forgot the picture and his French notebook. UGH!!!

Take DS22 w/ an assortment of 'stuff' to try to break into the car. Try for almost 45 min & can't. Call a locksmith. He came & couldn't. Called another, ran to the gas station to get DS22 a 6 pack of beer ( his bribe for helping & not yelling at me about having to wait) 2nd locksmith couldn't get in either, but was able to help us pry the T-tops slightly and fish the keys out thru the crack between top & window glass.

Dropped DS22 at home & headed to UNM to take DS22 his French stuff. Doing 80 on the interstate & texting DS19 to figure out where to meet during his 10 min walk between classes as I had no time left to park & meet him. Arrived with 4 min to spare.

Back home and as I'm pulling on my street DD's friend txts me & says they're done with PSAT tests & ready to be picked up. Get them, get home & DD decides she needs to get a different card for DH birthday as she didn't like the ones I got. Headed to the mall, then back home to drop her friend off, back to the Oral Surgeon Appt, pick up DH cake, pick DS19 up at bus. Home again to drop off cake, back to get DH balloons & meet for dinner at Red Lobster.

Is it any wonder I'm tired???????

That was Wednesday. Thursday I had to clean garage, set up sale, etc. Friday & Sat was the sale. To add to the confusion, I've been looking for DD a full size bedroom set & found the perfect bed for her on Craigslist Thurs about 6:30pm, ran to look at it & she loved it, back home to completely GUT her room so I could sell her furniture (didn't, but it's in the garage for Craigslist). Carried all her stuff up & out....headboard/footboard, rails, mattress, box spring, huge desk w/ hutch, 3 drwr chest w/ hutch, 6 drawer dresser & mirror. UP THE STAIRS!!!!! Finally fell in bed about midnight Thurs night & up at 5 a.m. Friday night ws the first choir concert. Saturday got a truck & picked up DD's new bed. After She went to work & DH to the casino, I moved the mattress & box springs into the office so she could sleep on it.

Sunday up early to go look for bedding for her, do 9 loads of laundry, vac & shampoo the carpet just where her bed will go(the rest of the room is all her stuff in piles & containers as no dressers yet), then assemble the bed. At least we got it up so she could sleep in her room last night. It's cream iron, full size, with the square canopy frame at top & we put creamy semi sheer curtains all around. Ordered a chocolate comforter & skirt, cream sheets & curtains on the bed, she has blue carpet, so getting blue ties for the bed curtains & will put cream, chocolate & blue scarf drapes at the window....after we get around to painting which may not be til Spring Break. She wants 2 walls khaki/cream & 2 brown. hmmmmmmmmm...........

So, as usual, I'm just lying around eating bon bons & watching tv.......

Managed to drag my sorry carcass to the gym to swim this morning. DS22 called in sick to work last night ...thinks he has an eye infection. Doesn't take care of his contacts, wont' go get eyes examined ...DH says we need to pay for it as he doesn't have the money....I pointed out that he makes enough, but if we do it, he doesn't have to pay...which is why he's buying 2 new PS3 games he has on preorder in the next 2 weeks. More than enough money to go to the eye dr., but we have our priorities. I'm of course the bad one for not wanting to pay. Sunday of last week he had a meltdown, 22 yr old tantrum over the shoe laces in his work boots...looked more like thread than laces they were so worn. I pointed out that he works at WALMART & laces there are 88c! So Monday night, before time to get DS22 up for work, DH pulls out his own cycle shoes & takes the laces out, puts the laces from his dress shoes in his cycle shoes. Hangs the longer laces over the canopy rails of our bed. When DS22 comes up , DH gives him the laces for his boots which DS22 promptly rejects as they aren't the right color & too long. DH then tries to get me to run to Walmart to buy laces....NOT!!!! Talk about enabling DS22 to not take responsibility....!!!!!! I was LIVID!!!!!! And he still hasn't bought laces & his bank account is still overdrawn by almost $300....yet he makes take home of almost $1400/mo with no bills other than car insurance $80 & his cell phone $100 & gas for his car (and cigarettes, liquor, drugs, meals out(which we dont' even eat out anymore)......

I wonder why I'm angry, bitter, stressed, depressed.......:rolleyes1

Oh well....life goes on......

Time to get something to eat & get moving on today's 'to do' list.

Sorry for the marathon post.....If you made it this far, you're AWESOME!!!!!

More later.....

yesterday was slightly better food wise, but I'm still not brave enough to face the scale. Went out walking this morning before the cold front hits....50 this morning, 34 tomorrow morning ....BRRRRRR!!!!!!

Froze the first 2+ miles as it was uphill, so went to about 6300ft. Amazing the temp difference in where I live at about 6000ft. Stopped at Starbucks for a decaf skinny cinnamon dolce latte.....EXTRA HOT!!! ( 3 pts) Then kept going. So, I was on the phone with DSis in FL the first 1.7 miles, then drinking another mile, plus several brief stops for cars/traffic lights and 5 to pull burrs out of sashi's paw, and I was at 17.6 minute miles average. Not too bad. Did 5.45 miles. Wanted to do more, but had to detour past DSil to potty...if she wasn't home my alternate plan was to stop at the fire station, tell them they are supposed to save women & animals & make them watch Sashi while I used their bathroom.....:lmao: Hey, when ya gotta P ya gotta P!!

Hope all is well with everyone. Off to see what the MUST DO's of the Day are!

Julie, I really admire your stamina and endurance when it comes to walking! I "WISH" I were able to clock the miles that you do. I guess for now, most of my walking will be done in a pool.

Make it a great day!

Hi Julie,

You are doing a great job logging those walking miles in! Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

Sending prayers and :wizard: your way!

Hi Julie,

Happy Wednesday!:cool1: I hope you are having a good week so far.:goodvibes

Take care and have a wonderful day ahead!:goodvibes

Only YOU will know when you have had enough. I hope you are just staying long enough to prepare yourself to make a move. I'm sorry that you continue to live like this, because it sounds like a disaster. Please, please, please, at least look into therapy so you can better adjust yourself and plan for YOURSELF and YOUR future without this trainwreck. Hugs to you. Again, I'm sorry.

Please,Please, Please do not drive and text.Aren't we supposed to be teaching our kids? How if the adults keep doing this dangerous behavior?

It may be your life or someone elses.

Hi Julie, you are busy as always. Take time for you! I know how hard this is, you have been married and in this situation for many years, its not easy to figure out what is best. But we are here for you and with time, you will get ths all figured out.

That five pounds will come off quick, its probably water. Hang in there and well done for NOT going out to Wal Mart for shoe laces.

Hi Julie,

How are you doing WISH sis? I'm sorry that you have been under so much stress lately. I hope things are getting better.

I'm praying for you.......

Hi!

I'm so proud of you for holding your ground during the Great Shoelace Rebellion of 2008! Setting limits is a good thing. :thumbsup2

As usual, I need a nap now after reading about all of your expolits. You remind me of the Tasmanian Devil, just whirling around in a blur of activity. :)

Your DD's bedroom sounds so nice. Congrats to you on scoring that awesome bedroom set!

Have you given any more thought to going back to work? I was so proud of you for putting in your resume! I think it might be fun to try new challenges, meet new people, and find fun ways to treat yourself with your new paycheck. I hope the right opportunity comes along for you soon.

Sending good thought your way--take it easy on yourself! :wizard:

ok, I'm back. Life has been ok, just HECTIC!!! I am pledging to go to WW this week even though I KNOW I am up....WAY UP!!!! There is a bunch of halloween candy in my house that I bought as usual at 75%, but unlike usual, I can't seem to keep my hands off it. I've been too busy to journal, so not caring.....UGH!!!!! Today is a new day, though & I WILL journal!!!

Since I last posted I haven't managed to get my stuff on Craigslist, but that is in process. I have an office full of winter coats, skiwear & clothes.

DD & I spent the weekend of the 25th furniture hunting. NOTHING locally as we have only 2 real furniture stores (for a city of about 200K) and now 1 of them, the larger, is going out of business. Found her beautiful dressers online - if you google Jessica McClintock Romance, you will see them. We found them locally in the 3rd furn store that is already almost out of business, but online, w/ free delivery, was much cheaper! I also found her the matching hope chest which she doesn't know I bought and it will be for her 17th bday in just over a month. I had wanted to find her one for her 16th, but she had no room for one & I couldn't find any.

So, the furniture left NJ on Friday & I still need to get her room painted.....milk chocolate is the color.....YUMMY!!!! and I hope it won't be too dark considering one wall is nearly all windows & another is almost all mirrors. Time will tell. The wallpaper is stripped, but I can't start painting until after UPS arrives today as I have to sign for our Video Camera Docking station.

Bought the new Video Camera & docking station last Nov & never tried the docking staion til July....didn't work. So finally got DH to send back to be repaired as the 90 day full warranty was up...thankfully just had to pay labor.

DD is doing fine. Had her follow up yesterday morning & he says all is well. She still has a lot of pain in lower left jaw & says there is a 'HUGE, GAPING HOLE', but if the Dr says it's ok, it's ok.

With her home all last week I got nothing done & no exercise. Took Sashi for 5 miles this morning....35 out when I left & only 40 now, but I was still WAY TOO HOT after about the first mile & a half.

I'm fighting a probable sinus infection/cold & had the annoying 'tickle cough' all day yesterday. Trying to avoid the antibiotics, but will go in next week if I have to.

DDs furniture sold shortly after the GSale. DS19 & I finished his 2nd bug & have it listed on Craigslist. He's asking 6K & it's valued at 6 - 12K depending on condition & his has a new engine & near perfect. Hopefully it will sell SOON as he needs the money! He couldn't handle the lack of sleep w/ his Home Depot job so he quit about 3 weeks ago & is still looking....not easy in this economy, so prayers needed for both the car sale & a job for him.

I've decided to sell my rolltop desk since I haven't used it in over a decade & my piano. I never have the chance to play it as DS22 is always sleeping. But, I will replace the piano with a digital that I can plug headphones in & that doesnt' require tuning. Hopefully those will sell before the Holidays!

I'm trying to get my act together, clean & de-clutter. I did apply for another job, but they aren't going to talk to anyone till end of Nov. The UNM job I assume has been filled as I have heard nothing....not that I was expecting to. I'm not in a hurry & want to find something I will enjoy if I find anything. If I had to, I'd go work at a Starbucks!

DH is a little concerned as all of Washington is Democrat controlled now & he works for a major defense contractor, but time will tell. Hopefully they won't cut things as much as they are saying.

I really need to get back on track as I'm pretty sure I have no winter pants that fit. So far I haven't been brave enough to put on anything but sweat pants!

Off to finish reorganizing my bathroom & MAYBE taking a nap!

More later! Thanks for keeping me on page one!!

Yesterday got away from me. Had to help DS19 with his french...for hours.

Made it to swim this morning....67 minutes. Up a lot last night coughing, I think this is now a full blown cold. Fun Fun Fun!

Need to go get the stuff to paint DDs room as we need to get at least 2 walls done today. But, I'd rather crawl back in bed as this head cold is not fun. Not today, tho.

I avoided the candy bowl yesterday, even during a DS22 blow up, so that is a move in the right direction.

Off to eat something other than the couple bites of chips I grabbed from the table as I walked in.....HUNGRY after swimming. And then go get the painting stuff. I'll be glad when her room is done as she is sleeping in the 'office', so now my space is a mess!

Forgot.....DS19 got a job!!! HUGE PRAISE!!!! A guy who is a drummer at the Calvary here & was a mgr at Chick Fil A, but also quit due to the owner is now a mgr at jason's deli (a TX thing that is moving west) and when DS19 went in to eat with a friend asked DS19 if he wanted a job cooking. Not as much/hr as Home Depot, but they will be able to give him many more hours & HD was a max of 16/week. And he will be able to get some more sleep & it is MUCH closer for gas!!

Hi Julie,

Way to go getting that long swim in! We have Jason's Deli here, I love them. Hopefully ds gets good dining discounts for family members!

I am with you, my winter pants are "an issue"! I think we are all struggling right now with food so you aren't alone. Throw out the candy if you have to!

Keep up the good work, I will pray that car gets sold and dh's job remains secure.

Good luck with the job process it isn't easy. I have filled out several apps but no luck. Our day is coming!:goodvibes

thanks, Amy! (& Tracy & Pearlie, too!)

Pants aren't fun!! I say we boycott & all wear PJS all winter long!

My cold is turning to my chest. Not what I want!

Will walk later when it is a bit warmer. This morning I'm running to Sam's.

My friend Melinda's family is in real financial trouble (due to her DH not wanting to work, etc) & her DS is turning 17 Saturday. She is working 2 jobs & I really believe she may have cancer as she has lost over 30 lbs in 4 mo w/o trying & was skinny to start. Her dad died young, quickly of cancer. Anyway, she won't take any help w/ groceries or anything so I'm going to Sam's & filling a 'care' box for someone to anonymously leave on her porch. The DS whose Bday is Sat was a gymnast w/ my DS19, & is now working 2 pt jobs + school & turning it all over to mom. I'm putting in stuff for his special birthday dinner, some candy & a gift card for him to the movie theater. He told his mom he knows there is no money for any gifts, again (last year for xmas she cashed in points from surveys for a CD for each boy- her oldest is like my DS22...UGH!) but could he please have his curfew raised from 8 to 9 on school nights & 10 - 11 on weekends when he is off work. Good kid!

Anyway, off to hopefully find some Sam's deals...more later!!

Bad cold! Begone! :wizard:

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. That is so hard, especially when the situation is complicated like that. It's a very sweet thing of you to try to help her out and protect her pride. I guess if there's any upside to this mess we're in it's seeing the way people pitch in and take care of each other.

Glad to hear about the job for your DS. That restaurant sounds tasty!

 Julie,

I'm sorry to hear that you're still not feeling well. :( I hope you feel better soon!

I'm sorry to hear about the situation that your friend is in. :( That is so nice of you to help her out!:goodvibes

I hope you have a good week ahead!

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. And you my dear, are a very good friend! What a wonderful thing you are doing. I hope she doesn't have cancer, I'll say a prayer for her for sure. Maybe the stress of the money is causing her to lose weight? Keep us posted.

And may that cold get out of Dodge!
