Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Julie, don't give up. I am betting that very soon, your scale will have a big drop. It stinks when you work hard and the scale either doens't move or goes up, but its about the muscle you are building with all those workouts.

Your dh is such a typical man (sorry guys). I mean the more they work out, the more they feel like they can eat. And they can often get by with it! Like you say, he walked.;)

I am keeping you and dd in my prayers for good appointments and good news. Going to the doctor is scary but you are going anyway and I am proud of you! I am still waiting to hear back on my last test and then I am in the clear for another year. I hate it too!

Hang in there, you are doing great. And I mean that!:thumbsup2

i'm so proud of you - its hard to stick to a healthy lifestyle when the scale isnt playing fair! i'm sure it will show soon though - have you taken measurements - oh yes i remember you posted them (brave lady ;)) maybe they have gone down?!!

I need to run some errands I didn't get done yesterday, but I want to sleep. Bed at 11, then up at 4 for a potty break, 4:20 w/ the dogs & never got back to sleep before I needed up at 5:30 to proof DS19's history paper, make breakfasts, lunches & get everyone off. I REALLY wanted to skip the gym this morning, but I didn't. I even got a lane to myself. Swam 63 lengths this morning....almost a mile!! 5167 feet! My arms feel like JELLY!!! Monday night I got in bed and they started aching so bad I couldn't sleep. Had to get up & take advil.....but that is a good feeling in so many ways.

Tomorrow I won't be able to exercise early, so I probably won't do it at all. Dr is a 9 a.m. Pray Hard!!! After I am running a couple of errands on the other side of town, so won't be on until near evening.

Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!!! I can't believe it is OCTOBER already!!
 

Julie -- your workouts are amazing! I'll be keeping you in my prayers that the doctor appointments are smooth and uneventful.

Thanks for the prayers, y'all! Dr. appt went well. The node under my left arm tht was enlarged last year is still enlarged & rubbery. She looked up last years ultrasound and everything is identical and it is not a problem. Funny that she can feel it & I just can't. She thinks it's from the bad virus thing DD & I had last winter. She also checked the node in my neck that is still there & said it, too , is fine.

More later...gotta go find the Husky as someone left her out. wonder what she has dug up this time.....

Newsflash: I got brave & sent a resume in for a job at UNM. It really sounds like me, involves a lot of walking & would have GREAT benefits....incl. FREE tuition for all family members!! (maybe a ray of hope that I could get DS22 back in school) I'm not optimistic that I will get a call, but at least I am getting braver!
 
Julie, That's so great that you sent your resume, and who knows, you might get a call. My son works for a university where he and his DW also get free tuition. That's such a great benefit! Much luck to you in your job search!

You know, Dee, when the right job comes, I'll know it, and I'll get it. I'm not worried about it, but feel w/ DH health & issues, I need to be thinking about doing something...if for no other reason, to save my sanity!!

Made it to the gym & swam & did my stair stuff for 62 minutes. Showered & then quickly home to go to WW. About to potty dogs & leave for errands I've been avoiding. Not sure what today will be food wise, but I think I will end up having a pumpkin pie blizzard (small, shared w/ DD, no whipped cream) tonight. It's 5 pts, but I'm hoping to work it in.

Scale is finally moving. TOM arrived, finally, for DD, & unfortunately, my hormones said "hey, that sounds like a good idea". GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday & Monday I was OP, but Sunday was a food disaster! TOM decided to stop kidding around & show up in earnest & all I did all day was GRAZE.... & NOT on healthy food! Unfortunately, the scale was very unhappy with me for it!

Not much going on here. Just trying to slowly get stuff done. Sunday I spent 3.5 hours in Walmart doing coupon shopping (it was the only time all day I wasn't stuffing my face). Yesterday I walked in the morning...bad judgement....I wore shorts & a T & it was 48 out with a VERY brisk wind. I realized it was a mistake about 5 min into it & decided I needed the exercise & was going to do it. FROZE the whole way. Kept blowing my hat off & away.

Swam this morning & of course, the balloons didn't go up yesterday due to wind & did today & I missed them. Oh well....Tomorow I'm taking Sashi & going to walk the bosque (trails near the Rio Grande) as many balloonists will come to the river & 'dip' the basket in. Hoping to see some. Then going to the nearby coffee shop that allows dogs on their patio. I'm hoping to do 8 miles tomorrow as it's pretty flat & at a lower altitude, but I think DSil wants to come along.

Hope all is well with everyone. Planning to get to journals soon....... Just cuz I'm not there doesn't mean I don't luv y'all!!!

Julie you are doing great with your exercising. This time of year, its really hard to know how to dress when you walk outside! I would love to come down there and see those balloons someday and see you too!

TOM came to my house too! And grazing is just par for the course, don't beat yourself up.

3.5 hours in Wal Mart, I believe that is the ultimate sacrifice!:worship:

I"m still here!

DD had fall break 8 - 10 so my 'routine' was interrupted. I swam on Wed & Friday. Thursday DSil & I went to Balloon Fiesta EARLY for the special shapes launch. DH's work is across the street from the park, & they had 'Burritos & Balloons' day. I brought my burrito (& 2 others) home & instead took a Fiber 1 bar, an apple & green tea with me. We walked around some, took lots of pics & headed home. On the way I was a couple of balloons that were preparing to land & had small crews, so stopped to give DSil her first lesson in 'crewing'. It takes a LOT of work to get the air out of a 700- 1400 lb balloon, get it rolled & back into a comparatively small bag & loaded back in a trailer. Fortunately, these balloons landed in empty parking lots & not out on the mesa. So, out 20 min trip home took over 2 hours.....

Took a quick power nap, pottied dogs & left to go back to Fiesta for the balloon glow & fireworks. I ate at Subway!!!:worship: DH had a 1/2 lb green chile cheeseburger & fries. I REALLY wanted a cone of mini cinnamon rolls, but resisted ( the huge lines helped!!) Lots of walking & the weather was perfect.

Friday began another food disaster weekend. I'm getting the exercise in, but my food is still pretty out of control. Costco coupons & 3.5 lb bags of m&ms didn't help. Nor did making several enormous pans of chicken enchiladas. I made a small pan w/ ff cheese for me, but they are still loaded with sodium.

Swam yesterday & am going to the gym to do bike & weights today after I get some stuff done around here. DH 50th birthday is tomorrow. I wandered all day yesterday trying to find a gift. NOT easy. He keeps wanting one of those sleep number beds & I hate them, but went to the mall to try them. I could tolerate the new one with memory foam on top. But, they're $4500! :scared1: So I called him to discuss & when I told him you can't do what he does for about 5 hrs/day & 8 on each weekend day....lie angled across the foot of the bed & watch TV & eat... he decided he doesn't want one. Will break down the foam & baffles & I'm not going to let him ruin it.

I also had to call/visit 18 stores before I found ONE that makes an 'over the hill' cake or would decorate w/ black icing. CRAZY!

Tomorrow DD goes for her oral surgeon consult & gets 4 wisdom teeth out on the 3rd. Dinner will be at Red Lobster...he likes it, I can eat relatively healthy & as a bonus, I have gift cards left from vacation that I got for FREE!!
I'm trying to convince myself that cake is poison!!! We'll see how that goes.....

My garage sale is this weekend & I'm afraid DH is going to blow a gasket when I tell him I'm selling my roll top desk(which I don't use, it's just a clutter collector) and my piano (I can never play because DS22 is always asleep & I think I'd rather have a digital that the wood won't dry out & it doesn't cost a fortune to keep tuned).

Off to finish up stuff, take a catnap (LATE night last night) & then go to gym. I'd prefer to walk Sashi, but it's 45, drizzle w/ occasional downpours, & a few snow flurries. Cold I love, but not the cold & rain. (I'd take cold & snow!!!!)

Hope all is well with everyone. The rest of this week will be pretty nuts, but then I should be getting back to having more time. Haven't heard about the resume I sent, doubt I will, but I 'm ok with that.....
 
Julie, You've been one busy lady! The balloon festival sounds like a really good time. We have the occasional small ones around here, but I'm sure they're very uneventful to the ones you have in N.M.
