Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Yesterday was an OK day - ran errands for about 5 hours, home to unload, then 2 more quick stops. One to buy pup food and they had discontinued it so now have to go to a store about 15 miles away tomorrow. Thankfully I'm not out.

If you visit the Minnie thread you'll see I'm STILL waffling about the Minnie in May. Hopefully I'll hop off the fence soon!

Food yesterday was not great, but could have been worse. I ate almost nothing until dinner, then after being gone for 7 hours, didn't have the energy to cook a big meal as DH expects. And DD, DH & I couldn't agree on anything. DD wanted Subway. DH said it is horrible for you & he can't eat it. DH wanted to go to Golden Corral, but DD was still in PJs having slept a large part of the day & didn't want to have to get dressed. I just wanted sleep!!! DH was complaining about having to do anything as we decided he would go get Subway & Chinese, when DS20 called and wanted food brought to him at work. So, with much complaining, we had DH do it! It was his turn! I ended up eating chinese for dinner & had had a small bag of Salt & Vinegar chips for 'breakfast/lunch'. So it was a horrid sodium overload day, but not too bad on points.

I did go to the gym & swim for a bit over an hour, + got in hours of walking so that should help.

DS20 went in to work at 10:15 am yesterday & got off at 6:15 this morning. He has to be back at work at 10 a.m. At least he's working and not having much time to get into more trouble. Strangely enough, he likes it.

Today is church, laundry, house, DS17 school, gym, quick trip to mall to exchange, Sam's for kitty litter, & hopefully a bit of down time. Tomorrow I will go to my fav thrift store looking for more stuff to take to the DNieces in FL for their wee ones - it's 99c day & I can usually find some really awesome clothes for them. DS17 is off M & T to do school as we are now on our 'drop dead deadline' schedule. He knows he can only work 4 days/week until it's done & they were nice to give him 3 in a row(ChickFilA is closed Sundays)

Off to get some more coffee, start a load of laundry & hopefully visit some journals......

Oh Julie, you wear me out!!!!!
Hope your Sunday was less hectic job stuff & more hectic fun stuff!!!-Being as you like to be hectic!!!!

Well done to DD for getting great feedback at school :)
You must have been sooo proud :)

Well done for getting the swim in :)
I must be a 'blue hair' I did water aerobics today!!!!!
Come to think of it i was the youngest their !!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe how busy you are. That you can get in your workouts, and stay on your points is such a huge accomplishment. Awesome job!

I also wanted to thank you for checking in on my journal, it's so nice to have people looking out for me :)

Julie, great job getting the work out in. And it looks like ds20's busy life is just what he needs!

That is wonderful that DD's speech was so well recieved. Bummer you couldn't sit in and hear it too. Glad DS20 is doing so well. That has to be a nice relief for you. I laughed when I read about your driving journeys! That is the way I feel right now too! But you are still making time for yourself and getting exercise in - great job!!! When you figure out how to bottle your energy, can I have some?

Hi, Julie! I just wanted to pop in to tell you I am thinking about you! I keep checking the Minnie thread hoping I am going to get to add you to the WISH roster.
I hope your trip to the thrift store yielded lots of great wee clothes!
Sending you a  and WISHes for a great evening!

Yes, Cam, the thrift store (& my Dillards shopping spree) has not filled 2 large suitcases to take to FL. And for so little cost!

Still not sure about the Minnie. With the mood DH has been in lately, I haven't even attempted to bring up another FL trip. He's kind of reeling that he will have to do the DS20 hauling for 3 days. Wouldn't be bad except that even when DS20 has a schedule, they don't follow it. Yesterday he was to work 8 - 6. Instead it was 8 - 1, then Midnight to 7 this morning. Had to be back at noon and will work til ???. He was scheduled 8 - 6 again today.

No exercise yesterday. Instead I went & got my hair cut & highlighted. Still not sure if I like it. Only comment DH made was " What did you do to your HAIR??". Not sure if that's good or bad!

Didn't make WW WI again today as DD had a Dr. appt. She has 'hand, foot, mouth'. The outbreak in an Indian reservation school district here was so bad they had to close down the school for several days. Apparently it has now spread to our schools. Fortunately, she only has the blistery throat part & Dr. said since she's already had it almost a week she can stay at school. We went to tell the nurse who had no idea what it looks like, but has been seeing dozens & dozens of kids with the same - now that she knows. Wonderful!! We did get an antibiotic in case she doesn't heal fast due to the bacteria in the mouth. Fun, Fun, Fun.......

I'm going to try to get back on here again later..... I've charged the Garmin and am hopefully going to take it for a test run (walk, really!)

Ok, I read enough to charge it, put it on & turn it on. Gee, I can do this, it's not hard......

1st mile was 14.37 - about 1/2 & 1/2 up/down hill - ups weren't too steep or long, 1 LONG steep down.

Did .41 miles on the level - wanted to see how long a walk around the soccer fields paved path was. 13:20.

Then I did a lap w/o the garmin on, kind of slow, breaking in new shoes.

Headed home up the LONG, STEEP hill. Pace never exceeded 18:00, but when I got to the top I slowed down some, so overall was 15:50/mi avg for 2.39 miles. This included 4 stops at stop lights at which I didn't stop the clock and 2 of those were LONG lights.

However, I have learned a couple of things....

1.Don't eat nachos, ice cream, 20 oz diet sunkist and 20 oz water before taking a long walk. I could HEAR my tummy 'slosh' almost the whole way.

2. at 6000 ft, 65 degrees is pretty warm, don't wear long pants, long sleeves.

3. Don't try to wear new shoes out walking. I bought some 'Nike Free 5.0' on sale at dillards. VERY soft & comfy, but designed to wear w/o socks so you are like barefoot. Will probably be wonderful after time, but I wasn't used to them.

4. When I walk very long distances, my fingers get puffy - don't wear rings.

5. Carry an inhaler. I'm still wheezing as there's too much pollen in the air here.

6. Don't try to learn how to operate the Garmin while walking & wearing it. Let's just say I'm lucky I didn't fall!!

Julie -- so glad you got to try out the Garmin. It is my favorite toy. Between it and my ipod, I feel like I could walk forever. Some very valuable lessons learned, there, and I am sure the next walk is going to be even better. But, holy cow, woman! You walk really fast!!! :cool1: I see a Minnie medal in your future, for sure! :cheer2:

Yes, Cam, I'm told I walk fast, especially for short, stubby legs! A Slow pace for me is about 18/mi. Much beyond that & I feel like I'm moving in slow motion.

I don't think the pace for the Minnie would be a problem, especially since I'm used to walking hills & at 5500 - 6000'. The humidity will make some difference, but I LOVE humidity! I spent most of my life along the Mississippi, so it doesn't really bother me.

Plus, I really haven't done much walking since November since I'm TM challenged, And I haven't been stretching nearly as much as I should.

On a different note, my DS20 found a T-shirt he says he needs to get me. Remember my Wii playing..... it says "Wii - tarded" I know I'm game playing challenged, but that just isn't nice!!!

I sooooo want one. I'de be like you. Put in on and walk. I hate manuals too. lol.
You do walk fast!

Hi Julie,

Sounds like your life is busy, as usual!

Hang in there, and have a good weekend.:goodvibes

Hi Julie
Well done for getting all the walking done :)
Hope DD gets well soon
I want that t-shirt & i dont have a wii......yet ;)
Have a good weekend :)

Popping in quickly - a 45 min walk today is all I can account for.

Went to the Casino this a.m. w/ a friend - broke even, so I'm still up $10.

Tonight I have tickets for friend & I to go to Moscow Ballet of Sleeping Beauty. Her Bday was 3 days ago & I couldn't get anyone else interested, so I decided I'd take her for her bday.

Eye Dr. this morning was ok, but couldn't find any glasses I wanted. Plus have a hard time paying almost $500 WITH insurance for progressive lightweight coated lenses and medium price frames! Lasik is looking better & better for the money.

Well, Sleeping Beauty was wonderful. Costuming was incredible. The only thing that was a bit discouraging was that the lead dancer, even from up in the mezzanine where we were looked horribly anorexic. Even at a distance you could see every single bone in her upper chest, even the ribs! She was VERY VERY good, but disturbingly thin looking!

Just got back from the gym - finally!! 20 min on the steps, 35 on the bike, 30 min weights. Eating lunch, then DD & I go get facials....aaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!

Our insurance Co. 'nurse' program finally got hold of DH this morning. They have an RN call to see if you have questions if you have things like asthma, back problems, heart attack, etc. They've been trying to reach him since Aug & the back problems, then the Heart. I stood & heard him tell her he exercises at least 4 - 5 times a WEEK!!!! :furious: And that he's following a strict diet and exercise program. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!! :rotfl: When he got off I told him I was going to the gym and asked if he would come along. NO! was the response. I asked if he wanted me to wait til later & we could both go - again NO!! Oh well, he's a big boy! Just need to make sure he's well insured I guess!

This weekend & this week are going to fly by. I leave for Florida on Thursday!!!!!!!! DNiece & the baby will pick us up in Tampa, go to DSis house. Friday DSis baby sits the 2 little ones & we will take them & go visit their mommies at school for lunch. Saturday we girls will go to GSales (my DSis does this EVERY weekend!), then head to Ellenton to the outlet mall. DD & I will leave the mall & go to Naples to my DBros house where we will stay Saturday night. After spending Sunday w/ him, we will drive back to DSis on Sunday night - he has a field trip to lead early Monday Morning & I decided I REALLY didn't want to drive I-4 in Monday Morning rush hour. Not sure what Monday will bring. DSis ended up having to work Sunday & also Monday night, so won't be going with us to Naples. We are, however, getting to use her car, so that was GREAT! Tuesday we come back home - :(

DD is feeling pretty crummy today. The blisters in her mouth/throat are AWFUL!!! I sure hope & pray she gets somewhat better before FL and that I(nor anyone else) gets it!

DS17 has finished the Bug!! It is REALLY REALLY awesome!! Hopefully he will be able to sell it quickly & for what he wants.

Well, off to get a load of laundry going before we head out, After the Spa I have to hit a couple of stores.

Ok, here's a poll - my family thinks I'm INSANE (personally I know I am). My new fav low points lunch is a bowl of salad greens with Boca veggie chili poured over the top - sometimes with a bit of ff cheese and sometimes with a bit of ff hot dog chopped up. It's VERY filling, lots of fiber, gets veggies in (which I'm horrid at) and it's SPICY!! They think it is disgusting! It ends up being 3 pts if just the chili, 4 - 5 if w/ cheese & ff dogs. So, is it that strange???? To me it's like a taco salad from Wendys - comes with chili!

Hope everyone is having an AWESOME weekend! I plan to get out for a walk later as our wonderful mid -60s weather is about to change again. Not too bad, but too cold to enjoy outside as much.

Woohoo! Florida is just around the corner!:yay: I hope your DD is feeling better soon.:goodvibes

You are doing a great job getting that workout in and using that garmin! keep up the good work!:cheer2:

We are keeping your DH in our prayers......:grouphug:

Have a great weekend! Will you be packing for Florida?:woohoo: (By the way, can you bring some sunshine and warmer weather back with you from Florida to share with your frozen WISH friends? ;) )

I was SO disappointed yesterday. DD & I went to the SPA only to find out the person who made our facial appts made them for the wrong weekend! Strange as I confirmed the date/time when I got my hair cut, when I called in to add pedicures, when I called in to cancel the pedicures as I knew they would only have pinks/reds both of which DD hates. All 3 times it was 2/10 at 2:00. They did (supposedly) put in the computer a 20% discount for us for the next time, but it did little to cheer us up at that point.

Then we went to Sam's. I controlled myself and had an ice cream cup, not everything they had. Tons of samples & I passed on the chocolate covered chocolate cheesecake. All I tried was pomogranate juice. Even with that and a REAL hot dog later, I stayed a bit under points & didn't use AP's.

Today I need to run some more errands, do laundry & pack. If DD doesn't get packed today, we'll be hard pressed to get it done during the week due to homework.

I may go to the thrift store again tomorrow. I have a couple of things I could return, but can't find my receipt - no receipt no exchange - not that I'm worried as they were 99c each, but.....

I need to start a list of everything I need to get done before FL. #1 is a list of food on hand for the guys. Last time I went in Oct., DH ran thru McD drive thru the first night & bought 20 cheeseburgers. Brought them home & told the boys that was their food til I got back! YIKES!!!! Fortunately DS17 works & eats @ chickfila & will fix himself food, the other 2 don't.

Off to get a couple quick things done & get dressed.

Have a Wonderful, Blessed Sunday!

Hey there!!! I got to about Page 8 of your journal and I wanted to say thanks for stopping in and giving me inspiring words and thoughts.

Speed Posting/Skimming:
You seem to be doing amazingly with your eating! That salad/chili combo sounds pretty good this morning. Where did you see Sleeping Beauty at (just catching up and I'm reading the last couple of posts)? I am not a game queen either. I'm the scullery-maid of the royal floors if we're talking royalty. Good job on the Sam's thing. You did GREAT with that challenge. Now keep on sockin' it to that weight!:cool2: You have more willpower than I would. The spa thing sounds like a mess-glad you got it fixed up and enjoy your relaxation!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday, lots of hugs and positive thoughts for a great day!!

Ahhh! I hate it when I'm looking forward to something, and the silly girls at the reception mess it up! What a bummer.

That is so funny about your DH and the food. My DH loves fast food mexican, so when I leave, that's what he lives off of :)

Hope the rest of your weekend goes smoothly. Final countdown to FL. Woo Hoo!
