Julie, I am glad you made it to Florida and that dd is better. Bummer about the messy house. I wouldn't be happy either! Welcome home and hope dd continues to feel better and the headaches go away!

I'm glad to hear that your DD is feeling better and that you were able to get to Florida, Julie.

I'm sorry to hear about the house when you got home. Maybe you should leave it that way until someone else cleans it up. ;)

That's great that you're going back to Florida in just a few days!:woohoo:

Have a great weekend!

I'll explain later when I have time. Suffice it to say the ENT appt. for DD was the most worthless Dr. appt I've ever been to. Since FL I've had lower back ache & radiating down outside of thighs - too much sitting on plane, too much standing in lines & for 6 hours on concrete at the babies party & my DSis beds!!!

then my DH decides last night that he's trading in his 6 week old motorcycle for a diffferent style the same size - so the 6 weeks he's had it will end up costing me about $2400 in taxes, fees, & all his accessories that are now useless & he'll have to rebuy, + the fact they won't give him near what he paid on trade in. WONDERFUL!!!!!

Off to get some things done. More this weekend......

Saturday night DS18 & DD were going to meet friends from work at a haunted house across town. Didn't want DD riding on his cycle so I drove. DS18 then bailed, leaving DD w/o cell phone & I had to sit around waiting til he got home (45 min) & could call him to call the people she was with to see if they could give her a ride. Had a latte out of frustration at the bookstore. skim, decaf, tho, but still..... Was up til about 1:30

Up Sunday at 5 a.m. w/ dogs. DD & I were both too exhausted, so didn't get in our long walk we had planned in hopes of being ok for TOT.

Celebrated DH birthday. DS18 grilled steaks & fixed a bunch of onions, peppers, mushrooms & jalapenos. DD did baked potatos & I bought a carrot cake. Wanted to get to bed early, but didn't work. Crawled in bed at 10 exhausted & freezing (NOT normal for me). Heart started racing & felt awful til about 11:30 when I started getting sick. Was up til about 3:30 sick. Up at 5:30 to get dd off to school. Tried to go back to bed, but I'm the type that can't sleep in the day time. Managed only 3 30 min naps. NOT restful yesterday. I think I hadn't digested ANYTHING since sometime Saturday. And had only about 6 hours sleep in 2 nights.

Yesterday was a bit less nauseous, but still spending the day in the bathroom. Seems one of the DNieces in FL had the same thing a couple days earlier ....maybe picked it up there??? & the spicy, greasy food ???? who knows I just want it gone.

Last night got about 6.5 hours sleep & managed a 2 hour nap today. Still REALLY tired & rumbly tummy. But at least I can move today.

So much for getting any long walks in before TOT. DD & I may need someone to push, pull, carry us thru! I just keep telling myself 8 miles isn't much in 2.5 hours!

He ate leftovers then went to the casino while I had to go w/ dd to a choir meeeting. He won like $180!!

Choir teacher finally remembered to give DD her dress - Last year same company she wore a size 2. This teacher ordered her size 10!!!! And, I have to have it hemmed/altered "professionally" before the concert on Friday night. $80 for the dress & will be well over $100 to alter. And she has other smaller dresses hanging in the office but refuses to let DD try them on & they are extras. NOT happy am I!!!!

 Julie,

I hope you're feeling better WISH sis. I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your DD's choir dress. :( Why can't the teacher give her one of the extras in her size? :confused3

Happy Birthday to your DH!:goodvibes

Hope you have a great Wednesday! How's eBay going?

thanks, Tracy!

Choir teacher says she had DD try it on & it was ok thru the hips. Might need to take it in. Took it to alterations yesterday & of course they are made for 6' tall + girls & needed almost a foot taken off. Then she pinned to take it in. to fit properly it is coming in over 8" in the hips, waist & about 6 in the bust. Lady showed me 5 other choir dresses she's doing & every one of them had to be taken in, ,just not quite as much. Frustrating that we pd $80 for the dress & alterations will be well over $100. Oh well...

And, DD now has what I have. She was up all night worshiping the porcelain god. So no school for her today & all the Sophs were taking PSATs. Can't send her sick no matter what the school says.

I'm feeling better, but still not 100% & still in the bathroom more than I should be. what fun!

Ebay is OK, when I have time. I really need to hit it hard to get rid of all my winter clothes...soon!

10/17 -

sf jello(1)

Better on liquid today - 4 16.9 oz bottles of water.

DD is miserable. Still throwing up when she has anything & her tummy hurts really bad. Praying for a miracle tonight so she can at least go part of the day to school tomorrow.

had to run to grocery for more gatorade, jello & some pudding so ran to WW. Down .8. I'm now exactly 2 lbs from my pre cruise WI. Pathetic that what I put on in 10 days (& some after due to stuff) has taken over 4 MONTHS to remove!!! I'm not letting it stay, tho!

I need to get Ebay done, but I still ache. I ate today & tummy is rumbling, but somewhat better. Hopefully tomorrow will be much better still.

Ok, if any of you think you're in the running for mean mother award, forget it! i win!!!!

I made DD go to school today. She hadn't thrown up in about 18 hours. I know she still hurts & doesn't feel well, but with the bomb/shooting threat stuff + her drug reaction & dr's appts, she's missed all or most of 13 days of school since 9/6. We've had Dr notes for most of them, but I still don't want to push it. Besides, if we go to FL next Fri, she'll miss Monday the 29 as I couldn't get us a flight home other than 6 a.m. on Sunday.

But, she illegally texted me about 11:30 - over 1/2 way thru the day & wanted me to just come get her. I told her to go to the nurse so it was documented & official & she complained she couldn't. When I refused she said she hurt & felt like Cr*p, but would stay. Oh well.......

So, I win!!!!!

So, this morning I did for ME!!!! My fav thrift store opened a new store on my side of town ....dangerous as I have to go right past it to get anywhere. Wow Julie you & i have to shop together one day!!!
Your poor DD seems to have had everything lately! hope shes finally on the mend!
FL sounded fun...hectic...but fun ;)
Congrats on the weight loss - down is down girl no matter how much,
so be proud :)
Hope your feeling better too , have a great weekend:)

Hi Julie,

Those are some great thrift store finds!:thumbsup2 I wish the thrift stores in our area had more quality merchandise. I can't believe some of the things they try to sell around here.

I'm sorry to hear that both you and your DD are sick. I hope you are both feeling much better soon!:grouphug:

I hear ya about eBaying....I have a lot of stuff in my office that I need to eBay. I did some completed searches today and found that the stuff I have is going for a lot less than I thought it was worth. :( Not sure if I will eBay it or just send it to Goodwill....

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Julie, I'd say you did very well on that shopping excursion! I need to have you be my personal shopper ;) . You are not a bad mom to make dd stay at school. You are just working within a bad system that makes schools put too much pressure on attendance to get their funding! It really stinks, I know I have sent my kids to school before when they should have been home since I don't want to get written up. What a system we have in this country? . I hope dd got some time to recuperate over the weekend. Excellent news that you can buy size 10 pants I am envious!

Hi Julie, Just popping in to say HI and hope everything is good with you and your family!

Julie, great shopping!! I hope you are having a great time in FL and DD is feeling well enough to enjoy the trip too.

Didn't get a chance to WI this week and not making WW today.

First the good news..... Tower of Terror was AWESOME!!!!! It had glitches as it was a 1st time, but all in all good.

DD actually jogged most of the way, so I didn't see her until the end. I FINALLY got to meet & HUG Cam!!! And many others who I'm sure I'll never remember all their names - I do remember HockeyChic, WindWalker, & of course TigerLily, Connie from TX, & too many more to remember!

I started off with Cam & her group as they were walking due to her back problem. I ended up ahead & walking some w/ Dave & then HockeyChic & her DH. I was not last & I finished which was all I wanted to do. DD finished about 30 min ahead of me, but then she didn't stop to take pictures at least 1x every mile!! I talked on the phone part of it w/ my DSIS who couldn't figure out why 45 min into it we weren't done(DUH!) , & then with DD who wondered where I was when she passed mile 6 (I was passing 5). I can honestly say I did NOT exert myself at all. Didn't even feel like my heart rate was really up. Everyone else hated the humidity, but I was LOVING it!!!!

Dd's running shoes are MESH which we never thought about. Good for the dry desert, not so good for rainy Orlando. Her feet were soaked most of the 8+ miles. When I crossed the finish she was waiting, gave me her stuff & said she thought her feet were bleeding. Fortunately it was just 1 blister & the rest was the wet socks. Went to the med tent for ice for her knee & a bandaid & she was good to go ride the ToT(NOT ME!!!) Her feet were swollen & GROSS from the water & VERY SORE... for DAYS!!!!!

DD said she wanted to quit between mile 2 & 3 - not fun, boring & she was a bit sore. But she started twirling around & walking backwards & said she saw all the 'OLD' people who were like 5x her size & decided that if they could do it, she could! Then about mile 6/7 when she was in the park she thought she was kicking butt when a guy about 70 came flying by her. She said she felt so bad, so inadequate, so out of shape & so HUMBLE after that!

From Thursday night before we left to when we got home on Monday night I managed to get a whopping 21 hours sleep in 4 nights. I'm still totally exhausted!!

Monday night when we landed I called DS18 to see if he wanted me to pick him up something for dinner. No, as he was down on campus working on a group project & said he would be home soon. 3 hours later still hadn't heard from him. Called him again & no answer. about 15 min later he called me very shaken. He had been driving his cycle on the hwy and the delivery type truck in the lane next to him hit a wooden pallet and threw it into his lane in front of him. No where to go at 65 in heavy traffic. He became airborne - OVER the height of the cars. A piece of the wood hit his throttle hand. When the bike came down it was unsteady, but fortunately, he had bought a $500 steering dampener for loose/out of control steering and when the wheels hit the pavement, it took over & he did not crash. If he had, he & the bike would have both been run over. The only thing we could see wrong with the bike was a small area of the rim was bent - looked like the end of a 2x4 hit it. He stopped in a parking lot, checked it out & rode home after calling me. So, I took him to school on Tues & yesterday morning we took the bike to the shop to be checked. Told the wonderful British older man who runs it & he was amazed we weren't planning a funeral. Then, he called & told me both front & rear rims & tires are bent from the impact, and that there was "no reason on this earth" that both tires did not blow on impact & the bike roll. There are even splinters imbeded in one of the tires. Unfortunately, the damage was over $2000 so we had to call his Ins. co & file a claim - even his $1000 deductible is cheaper, but he is safe and that is all that matters.

Between 2 trips to FL in 2.5 weeks, DD's reaction problems, DD & I both tummy bug, and DS18 bike, I feel like I need a vacation!!! :lmao: Hopefully life will calm down a bit now, but I'll have to play chauffer to both DD and DS18 for a while til the bike is fixed. But I'll gladly do it at this point!

Food was OK in FL - had panera bagels each morning which is not great, but we don't have a panera & I love it. Desperately wanted ice cream at 2 a.m. after ToT, but McDonalds had none. Ended up eating a hamburger - probably my 1st in YEARS. ICKY!!!!! Had 2 small PowerAdes after ToT. Ate my Brownie on the flight home.

Spent way too much money at the UnderArmour outlet - but some is for Christmas & it was such good deals & selection.

Went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal (DBil got us free tickets) on Sunday Night. I would not go back. It was nothing but a drunken mess. Houses weren't scary, just really gross. Waited over an hour to ride the Mummy & Men in Black(and DD's gun didn't work). DSis & her DD came & we were walking down by Jaws & someone threw a beer on them. Then later we got SPIT on!! (just for fun you know!) They left about 11 & we left just after 12 a.m.

My big 'oops' of the trip was leaving the hotel on I-Drive for the airport in pouring rain, sitting forever in traffic & getting to the rental return & realizing I had forgotten to stop for gas!!! $7.99/gallon there I was NOT going to pay. So off we went to way S of the airport to fill the tank as the nearby roads had accidents.

After ToT & HHN, DD was barely walking her feet were so sore, so she hobbled into the airport for an hour line at security. Barely made it to our gate & neither of us had eaten all day. I RAN to the nearest food place - fortunately 1 gate down & bought 2 chef salads, 2 pretzels w/ cheese, her a brownie sundae (it was Ben & Jerry's) & I had a scoop of Pumpkin cheesecake - yummy & the worst thing I had all weekend. Wolfed down the ice cream during boarding. I ate most of my pretzel - which was like a rock & she ate a couple bites of salad. Noisy, crowded flight & we couldn't sleep & were too tired to really eat. Oh well.....

I'll try to post more after I get caught up a bit & hopefully get some pics up over the weekend!

I WILL GET JOURNALS VISITED.........before Thanksgiving!!! :rolleyes1

Thanks for hanging with me, y'all!

Welcome back Julie :)
I'm so glad you & DD made the TOT, sounds like it was hard work but you had fun :)
It must have been soo cool to meet Cam & other 'wisher's' Cant wait to see pics :)
DS is very lucky!! I'm glad he is ok, it must have been scary for you all!

Sounds like DS18 sent his guardian angel into overtime! So glad that he is ok. Very scary though.

I'm glad you and DD had a good time at ToT and met some other WISH'ers. What fun. I hope DD's feet feel better soon. Interesting comment about MESH shoes. It never would have occurred to me either. In CA I don't think I've ever seen anything but MESH shoes.:confused3

Welcome back, Julie! It was so awesome meeting you and DD!!! She is a sweetheart and was a very good sport about all your lime green friends! I am so glad we got to share a big part of the race! Congrats on your awesome finish!
Send me a pm with your email address and I'll send you some pics. I don't remember whether you had your camera with you. It is all a blur now. LOL!!!

Thank God DS is fine. What a miracle!!!

Welcome Back Julie! Congratulations on the ToT!!! I'm glad you had a chance to go, do the race, and meet a lot of WISHers!

Oh my goodness, Julie! That is so scary about your son's accident! Thank God that your DS is safe and is doing well.

Have a great weekend!

Brief, quick post while I have 20 seconds.

Still here. Life is WACKED!

DH is in Iowa at the moment about to load a truck(IF Budget can get their act together- GRR!!!) and move his sister in with us for a while.

She's been going thru a NASTY divorce - no kids, thankfully, but she's 54 & starting over. Will live with us until she gets settled, finds a job, etc. Fortunately, she has a little money, so will be able to get an apt. or something after she can decide where she should live & work. No degree & hasn't worked in the last like 5 years, but has a lot of experience. She'll find something, but I imagine she'll be with us thru the first of the year at least.

I've been trying to basically GUT dd's room as she hasn't even unpacked everything from when we moved here 6 yrs ago - thinks if she keeps a box packed we won't move. And, I needed to thoroughly clean the rest of the house as well getting ready for the Holidays.

So, between that, running DS18 (cycle STILL not fixed), running DD and my normal stuff, I've been NUTSO!!

DD will sleep on a futon mattress on my floor for the duration. Could sleep on the nice sofa bed in the TV room, but too much traffic down there.

I'll try to get back on later today or tomorrow. DH is NOT happy that she's coming, but that's what families are for!!!

Food....well, I can't even remotely say it's been good. Exercise......I went to the gym....ONCE!! But I did spend almost 8 solid hours vacuuming & shampooing carpets. That should count for something!

Hope all is well with all my WISHers! I miss you!!!! If I don't get back, Have a SAFE Holiday!

Tracey......I can't wait to hear more of the house SAGA. Last time, I think I remember you getting ready to celebrate!!
