Happy Birthday to your son!!! 18 is such a monumental birthday, I think it deserves a cake just like the one you had made...you wicked, wicked woman! :rotfl2:

I hope you resisted the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, and jumped back on the wagon. Isn't it tough after coming home from vacation? I, too, gained more when I got back...its like once the floodgates are opened to food, its really tough to shut them! Hang in there, and the scale will move downward. We're all right here with you.

You are doing an AWESOME job with your exercise challenge! And you are really making good food choices too :)

At some point the scale will catch up! I'm at the point where I get super frustrated w/ the stupid thing, so I now I only check once or twice a month. It's not worth the headache to do it anymore than that!

I am SO DEPRESSED!!!! The scale keeps moving in the OPPOSITE direction and I've no clue why. I'm eating w/in points. I feel like a WHALE! All I can figure is it's a hormone/midlife thing since TOM is MIA. I may or may not go to WI tomorrow. After the check in person was rude (told me I must not WANT to lose weight & must not try since I do "so poorly" at it.) Yes, I wanted to slap her!

Party went well. Still not done w/ the cleanup. Having to run DD to Driver's Ed & Work this week is really messing with my schedule. Plus lack of sleep.

To recap a bit:

Friday I was cleaning & went to get a drink of the upstairs sunporch. The carpet was soaked. Spent the next 3 hours moving things - 30+ 12 pks soda, 4 cases water, electronic drums, etc, pulling up carpet, setting fans. Was about to call a plumber when I realized the 5 gal container of water DH uses for DD's aquarium was no longer completely full. Somehow it developed a pinhole leak. So, that mess still isn't put back together as party had to take precedence.

Saturday I finished house, ran kids to/from work. Got to bed around 11, couldn't sleep. Up til 2 when Mia needed out, then at 3:30 Max. Up at 5 for the day. I spent from 6 a.m. - 11 a.m. slicing & dicing which I HATE to do. Picked up cakes, got balloons & got the downstairs, sunporch & outside set. Then it started to RAIN. Lasted only about 20 min, just long enough to have to frantically pull everything in & then back out.

I really don't know how many people were here. Fortunately not more than about 35 - 40 at a time. The last of the 'kids' left at 10:45 Monday Morning. DS18 had to be at work at 7, so I had sleeping bodies all over for a few hours.

DD has Driver's Ed all this week and 1/2 of next from 8 - noon daily. She is my child I most dread driving and who I almost expect to have an accident. After 4 hours of classroom she thought she could drive my bug when I went to pick DS18 up at work thru rush hour traffic - never having been behind the wheel. NOT!!!!! DH took her to Target parking lot later Mon night & she came home now having decided that top speed on cars should be 10 mph "anything above that is scary", and that Reverse is not necessary - just make lots of turns. Then yesterday morning as I was taking her to Drivers Ed she told me she thinks driving will be like bumper cars - she "can't straighten those out after turning, either". Quite frightening!!!

Somehow I've got to find time to get some real exercise in. I'm getting some walking in, but not enough & not intense enough or regular. I know that is the key to my weight. It's also incredibly hot here - was still 96 at 10 p.m. Hopefully when Driver's Ed is over I'll be able to go in the mornings. Plus, monsoon season is approaching so we actually are starting to have humidity with our heat. But, middle of the night it's still cool enough to throw on an afghan when the windows are open. Typical high desert weather, but not good for exercising. I've only managed the gym once since I've been home. That, too, has got to improve.

I still have cruise pics to post and some cake pics, but my camera battery is dead and I can't find the charger, so I can't upload pics. Hopefully this weekend.

Julie, I am right there with you an being depressed! I think the hormones are playing a big part with your mood and the scale. Just hang in there, it has to move at some point, what goes up must come down! I am on my way to WI at WW and it really stinks going when you are up. Don't give up! Glad the party went well, they are so much work huh?

I hear you about the weight loss thing. It can be so confusing as to why we aren't losing sometimes, especially when we are doing the right things. Keep on keeping on! You will see the scale numbers go down!:cheer2:

Went to WW. Down 1.2. It's a start!!!

I've decided to try to walk, run, bike, swim - anything I can for sure measure - the # of miles from home to Port of Tampa before next summer. Realistically, I don't think I can log that many miles, but I'm gonna try! But it's over 5 mi/day avg.
 
I think you can come close! What a fun goal to do :) I though about doing a similar thing for trip in January, it was over 9 miles a day! And that was back in May!

Yippie on the 1.2 lbs. It'll come off, you're doing all of the right things :cheer2:

Walked 1.84 this morning. Then between campus, laps in Sams & Walmart, then walk w/ each dog I got in another 5.27. Not all fast, but still moving.

Too nice here this morning to NOT get out & walk. Unfortunately, not much time w/ waking DD, making DH lunch, pottying dogs, taking DD to Driver's Ed, then walk, waking DS18 for a job interview, running to Sam's to get gas/necessities, waking DS21 for work, picking up DD & taking her home, taking DS18 to UNM to buy books & get a parking permit, ..... You get the idea! I'm only sitting here now because the garmin went dead & it's charging so I can take it to do some extra laps around Sam's & to UNM. It's likely we'll have to park about 1/2 mile away & I want to count it :thumbsup2 !

Tomorrow I'll finish getting the house back together & hopefully get a start on Ebay pics. Yesterday I listed DS18 bug on Ebay. Took almost 6 hours as they were having major tech problems & I didn't want my computer to crash & lose the hour + we spent creating the ad/editing the pics. When I finally got a link to list thru from their tech people, my internet crashed!!!! But, it's up & hopefully it will sell. He started it at just below his break even point.

Off to wake him & run....

:cool1: great news the scale is finally going in the right direction, maybe your weight loss doesnt show on the scale as soon as some peoples! I know mine doesnt show until at least 2 weeks after starting to eat healthily.

Thanks for stopping in! It has been hot here lately too. I would encourage to continue to drink tons of water for the weight loss. That usually helps me.
