Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Sunday was a slow day. I actually slept in a bit, then DNiece, her DH , DD & I went to see DSis at work, ran some of their errands, then to WalMart. I had a Propel mid afternoon, dinner was ham, a small piece of french bread, some broccoli/cheese & some corn and a few bites of mashed potatoes. Had a 2 pt bar. No lunch, breakfast was about a 3" circle of the leftover chicken nachos, so not bad.

Monday we left at 8:30, ran thru starbucks - had iced cm - 5.5 pts - then off to Orlando. Went to the outlet mall where DD bought her Porcupine. Then to the thrift store for several rather boring hours. Then to Bennigans for lunch w/ my Clear Channel $50 GC that I pd $25 for. I had 4 broccoli bites & a kilkenny salad w/ grilled chicken, honey mustard on the side & a roll. Later I had a 2 pt bar, but that was all for the day, so not bad.

DNiece #2 got a contract on their house yesterday so DNiece #1, #2, baby & I are off to look at houses today.

Wow! Where is this week going????

Looked at houses w/ DNiece & they settled on the one they had had a contingency contract on. Very nice, but a bit small, but the amenities & gated community make up for it.

Food yesterday was an apple w/ a smidge of pb, lunch/dinner @ 3 at chickfila - grilled sandwich, fries, cf diet coke, then later a cup of plain coffee at starbucks and part of a whoopie pie. Not too bad I think.

Today Dnieces & I are meeting one of their student teachers for lunch at a Crispers - I'm hoping for a salad.

DD texted me from camp yesterday morning. When we dropped her off on Monday - late due to traffic/storms, she had "the look" and 'the attitude' to match. I texted her at bed w/ no answer.

Yesterday morning my txt from her was 'really fun busy ttyl'. Good sign. Last night I got details.

Monday night they slept by the manatee tank & Tuesday morning they woke them at 5:45 to put on swimsuits & get in & scrub the tank. She loved it. There are 42 kids divided in 2 groups. So, when they went to the hotel to put their stuff, she hung back & ended up w/ her own room - she was thrilled.

After being worried about being the oldest, she is hanging w/ 2 10 yr olds(who had done all the younger kid camps already so they allowed in this one) and a 12 yr old. She says all the girls her age are cheerleader types/girly girls who seem to already know each other. But she's having a good time.

Now that they are in the hotel, she said she'll call me again to tell me about it.

DS17 got home around midnight last night. His friends had put almost 200 orange helium balloons w/ notes, messages, candy in his room & taped them to things. Wish I could have seen his reaction.

Off to get ready for the day.... Have a good one everyone!!

Didn't hear from DD yesterday, so assume she is still having fun.

DS17 didn't get home until 2:30 a.m. as flights were delayed, then they lost his luggage. It arrived yesterday, thank goodness!! He goes back to work today.

Yesterday we ran errands all day. Today is Spa day. Tonight we 4 'girls' are going to Tampa to a Spa's 'Girls Night Out'. Hopefully it will be good.

I have 1 suitcase packed for the trip home. I need to take it to Publix to weigh today as the limit is 50 lbs. I sure hope it's not over.

Food yesterday was Ok until I had ice cream last night. Bad, Bad, Bad!!! I think I didn't go over my remaining FPs, but I feel HUGE!! If I have gained less than 10 lbs I'll be surprised, plus TOM is approaching. Lack of water & fiber doesn't help either.

This morning I'm going w/ Dniece #1 to her Dr. appt - she's at 7 mo now & this is her 'sugar test' day. Other than that it's just hang until about 2 when we pick up DNiece #2 to head to Tampa.

Have a great Thursday!!

Got back yesterday around 3:30 p.m. Found out yesterday morning that, of course, DS19 is unemployed again - has been for 2 weeks that he's willing to admit to. I'm LIVID!!!

On a positive note, despite feeling like I've gained a kazillion pounds, I braved the scale last night - eyes closed, TOM in full swing and wasn't up too bad. This morning I weighed and was up 2.2 from my last WW WI. I'll go w/ what I weight at WW on Thursday, but needless to say I was ecstatic!! I've NOT been terribly good, and was terribly bad on the train home & in DC.

We did however walk for 11.5 hours in DC - in ONE DAY!! I'll fill you in on more details later. Suffice it to say that by nightfall we were hobbling back to our hotel with badly blistered feet.

Glad to see you made it back home safely.

Look forward to the details. Have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Sunday Morning & I'm enjoying a tiny bit of peace & quiet with my coffee.

Turning 45 last year didn't bother me, but 46 is tough. I think it's all the DS20 stress in reality, but I'm feeling REALLY OLD this morning!! Stress, tired from the trip/time zone changes, TOM, and no real food yesterday have me singin' the blues this morning - but then again, birthdays can be that way sometimes.

I'm still not down to what I weighed last year at this time, and wishing I was less than last year...close, but not there. I do feel like I'm in better shape, though, but need to not dilly dally in getting back in the exercise routine.

Not sure what food will be like today, but yesterday I ate all my points in JUNK! Not a wise move. I'd prefer to not do lunch out (DS17 has a work meeting/dinner starting @ 3) as I'm a breakfast person, but I have a feeling the rest of the house will sleep til noon. I'm a morning person, but never seem to be allowed to go to bed early at night like I want/need.

Last night I told DS17 that he will be done w/ his PharmD in less than 7 years and then he gets custody of DS20!! I'm getting really tired of this pattern and with DH wanting to let him get by with it. I knew that the minute the car was fixed & I was paying for it that DS20 would conveniently lose his job. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! He made decent money(especially for someone living at home) for 6 mo and has not a PENNY to show for it. Some bills/debts were paid off, but none toward the many thousands he owes me, and none saved for this latest crisis. STUPID KIDS!!!!

I need to finish getting unpacked at some point today, do some laundry & begin getting ready to get back on Ebay. I have so many fall/winter clothes that I really need to get busy soon!

DD starts school the 10th, so I need to get some things done before she goes back. It's really hard to believe she's a freshman! I'm not sure I'm ready for all that HS entails w/ a girl. Fortunately, she has enough clothing - no real uniforms here, but certain styles/colors only. She hasn't started her AP books/reports yet. Fortunately she only has 2 and she's a fast reader!! When she starts to whine about not having time, I'll be sure to remind her of 3 days on the train where she constantly complained she was bored & wanted me to play cards!!

Welcome home :)
Glad you had a safe journey.
Kids can sure sometimes test your patience!! Things always seem worse when your tired. Hope things get better for you soon!

Hi Julie,

Welcome Back! :Pinkbounc I'm glad that you had a good time in Florida. I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well yesterday. I hope today finds you feeling much better! :goodvibes

I'm sending you some :wizard: in regards to the situation with your DS20. I hope things work out for everyone soon.

Have a great day! :sunny:

Must get back on track, Must get back on track.

Since Friday Morning I've been on a carb free for all. The DS20 stress is really taking it's toll. I suspect he lost his job before he claims he did, and all he does is hibernate. This morning I was supposed to get him up (per DH) and out to a testing for a call center - tried every 5 min for over an hour before he came up, called me every name in the books and went back to his room. Then I made the mistake of calling DH who got mad at me and told me I shouldn't be upset. We definitely don't see eye to eye on how to handle the deadbeat DS20 who is draining us financially. (deep sigh.....)

I need to get to the gym, but I don't even have the energy/motivation to do that right now. I'd really just like to crawl back in to bed and stay there for about 6 years!!

I'd best get in gear as It's taking me forever to accomplish anything the last few days. I'm still not even totally unpacked!!

I'm going to try to visit journals today & tomorrow & catch up. Meanwhile, my weight has gone steadily up since getting home & WI in Thursday.

Today has definitely been a blue day for me again. Rainy here which is SO welcome, but so unusual. DS17 spent the day doing Chemistry, playing XBox 360 & he & DD cleaned all their shells from FL. DD is still reading on Peace Like a River for her AP class. She thinks the book is growing!!

I've managed to sort a few Ebay things, unpack a bit more, strip a bed(but not made yet) & that's about it. Food has been OK -

Breakfast 2 lt em(2), ff chz(.5), egg beaters(1), lt jam(.5)
Lunch was lt chips(2) ff cottage cheese (3)
Dinner soup(4) & 2 grilled ff chz on lt bread(5)
34 decaf tea, 10 decaf coffee, 34 green decaf tea
4 pts left, but not sure I'll use them. It's nearly 7, so I can probably do without any more food

DS20 finally appeared at around 1:15 & left at 2 - supposedly to go look for jobs - more likely to hang out with friends. I'm at wits end with him!!! Can ya tell?????

Tomorrow I have to become more productive. I need to send stuff to DS17 school, fill out forms to use my vouchers to get money from this trip back from SW Air, get ready to Ebay, fill out DD school registration papers, etc. Somewhere a grocery run is needed.

I want to try liquids tomorrow as I haven't in a month and I think it would help me break the Carb addiction, but not sure.

My DSis family are total carb-a-holics. She will have trouble on WW which she is planning on joining when her DD rejoins after baby comes. She eats sandwiches for lunch, but with TONS of real mayo & real cheese - I watched one day and her sandwich w/ ham cheese & mayo on white bread was like 20 points for a normal not thick sandwich. Then add real chips, left over nachos & some SF snacks and she probably had enough points for 2 days!! Plus, they typically eat 1 huge meal a day & not much else. OUCH!!!

Off to try to get a tiny bit more accomplished.....

Did you notice I didn't post here yesterday???? It was a totally AWFUL food day!!!

Stress from DS20, lack of sleep - now 3 nights in a row - over DS20. I won't even begin to go into all I ate, but the bulk of it was a smallish bag of salt & vinegar crackers. Can you say hormone attack?!?!

Went to WI today. Officially at WW after being gone 4 weeks, 24 days eating out, I'm up 2.4. I was thrilled! Not over the gain, but over the fact that I controlled the gain. Go back a couple decades and we lived in a hotel for that length of time and I gained 20 lbs in that same month, which helped contribute to where I am now. I'm hoping to have the trip weight off in 2 weeks - by WI on 8/17.

Food Journal 8/3 -

Kashi w/ ww yogurt (3)
2 2pt turkey sandwiches(4)
2 pt bar(2)

68 decaf tea

Good job, Julie! I am so impressed! I know you have a lot of stress in your life right now, but you seem to be handling it very well.

I meant to ask -- how did your furbabies do while you were away? I bet they were so happy to see Mommy arrive home! :dog: :dog:

Thanks, Cam. It doesn't feel like I'm doing so well, but I 'just keep swimming!' (that was for you, Jen)

Fur Babies were fine when I got back. They had had significant 'backsliding' problems in the potty training area, but I sort of expected that. And, DH, DS17 and DS20 apparently didn't bother to pay attention to them when they were out of the kitchen as I need to reclean my carpets, again! All in all, not bad. Mia, however, apparently ate quite well while I was gone as she's become a bit pudgy. Neither of them will let me out of their sight, and I'm the center of the M&M sandwich at bedtime.

Julie, great job on only gaining 2.4lbs while on vacation!

11.5 hours of walking in DC for one day?! How in the world did you manage that? No wonder you've got blisters. We spent about 2 hours walking one day when we visited DC and I thought that would kill me.

I've saved the link you left on Amy M's thread. I definately need help for these hot flashes. I kept thinking they'd get better - instead they've gotten worse. Must have something to do with being 48 years old!
