Jonas Brothers vs Paramore vs Us

I have a dilema! We are coming from Australia in September. We thought we were really cool parents by getting the kids tickets to the Jonas Brothers concert as a surprise. (the whole trip is a surprise too). Anyone then we see that Paramore are doing a concert at the Honda Centre a couple of days after we arrive. This is DS's favourite group so we decide that DH will take him to that for his birthday. He will be beyond excited. Here's where it gets tricky. We just received an email saying JoBro's date has changed as they have cancelled some concerts. So now it's on the same night as Paramore. Cancelling DH's and Ds's tickets to Jonas isn't an option even though we could as they both will want to see it as well. Our only option is for DH and DS to drive to San Diego University the night before Jonas concert to see Paramore there.
Do you think this is too far to drive there from Anaheim just for a concert. How long would this take on a SAturday night?

It is only a couple hours max and 2 of my kids 19 and 21 drive to Spokane or Seattle for concerts and baseball games. It is such a special event for your son I would say go for it.

Thanks Jack! I know I will worry about them driving back late at night while the girls and I are at the hotel, but I will just have to get over it, because you're right my son will be ecstatic!

In reference, those are about 2.5 and 3.5 hour drives. Just a bit of GPS preplanning and things will go smoothly.
