You know, I just loved at the end of the show how much Kate loves Disney World. She said it is just the happiest place and you feel good when you are there. She said you just don't want to leave. True.

Now I want to know who is the brilliant thinker that gave those 6 two year old children sloppy messy ice cream on a hot day?

I really wanted to see the girls in princess outfits. Maybe next time. Unfortunately I am getting hooked on this show (just started watching it). It is probably 50% the personalities of Jon & Kate that get me: they are really honest and there is nothing to hide.

You might change your mind after a few more episodes, :rotfl2: . I really liked the show at first but now I can hardly stand to watch Kate and her "we DESERVE everything" attitude. Yeah, the ice cream was messy but for heaven's sake, they are kids and it was HOT and they are at WDW. If that doesn't make for a good excuse to have ice cream, I don't know what does!

Ice cream - what more could 8 kids want. Kids like ice cream. And kids make messes.. So clean them up and dont have a meltdown. I am sure Kate had wet wipes, wipe them up and enjoy the day.

We will be at Disney in a few days and my kids will have ice cream and will make a mess!

Didn't see it, but I'm SHOCKED that uptight shrew let her kids get messy. :rotfl2:

I agree, she's annoying. They're not relatable anymore.

Amen. I flipped passed it the other night and she was picking out a puppy. Can you imagine her with a puppy? The puppy went to lick her nose and she said "no I'm not ready for that yet".

I feel sorry for that puppy. But then again, I hope it leaves a nice steamy pile on her new rugs. :rotfl2:

I personally cannot wait to see my 4 year old covered in melted ice cream.. I may even join in on the fun and get a little messy myself.. that's why we carry baby wipes well after our kids are potty trained... some people would be so much happier if they would just relax and get a little messy!!!

I like the show, I like how they seem to be honest with each other, but I think Kate is pretty harsh and demanding and uptight...and you can totally tell the kids are stressed out...there would be no way that my 8 year old would be throwing a hissy fit the way their girls do on occasion... those poor girls are under too much pressure!

Just my opinion...flame if you will..

LOL,, WE WERE AT THE WORLD LAST WEEK AND HAD TO HAVE A MICKEY HEAD ICE CREAM EVERY DAY!!!!!! i HAVE A 10 YEAR OLD DD,, 4 DS,, 10 MONTH OLD DS AND OOOOOOOOOOO THE MESS!!!! IT WAS GREAT,,LOL. THOSE ARE THE BEST MEMORIES!!!:thumbsup2

Never thought I would ever respond to a Jon and Kate Plus 8 post but here goes. My wife is a fanatic of this show but she did mention something to me last night that they are starting to get out of hand, something about their new big house with the pool ,etc.

What gets me when I listen to it or watch it for a second is how mean and rude she is to Jon. Burns me up when she talks down to him....

Oh, I totally agree that kids are kids and let them get messy in WDW with ice cream for goodness sakes (and those would probably be some adorable pictures).......

BUT I totally agree with her on this one. They were about to have a private photo shoot with the characters in the MK. I would have freaked out too. Let them have the ice cream AFTER the photo shoot. I would not want my kids hanging all over the princesses looking like a sticky mess. There are a gazillion other treats they could have given them to tide them over until after the shoot!

most likely? the Disney people doing something nice, not realizing who they're dealing with (Kate's personality) ... or it could have been a set up by the producers, to create some drama.

I used to be a big fan of the show, now I feel like it is one big commercial and Kate's attitude is getting really old. However, I do not see why everyone thinks it is such a big deal that they got a big house, they have 10 people in their family and they are making millions...wouldn't you want a large home for your large family, if you could afford it?
I was just really bothered that out of the many days they were at WDW the producers chose to spend 10min of the show with the whole ice cream incident, it really was not that big of a deal! Couldn't they have showed something else? Like the kids on rides or at a character meal or something fun!

The Disney episode was on last night???? Uggg, I have yet to see that one!!!! It's season 3, right? I'm about to go buy it on DVD....

I wanted to watch Jon and Kate last night, but my sister insisted I watch the end of the bachelor with her (what a waste!).

I keep missing this episode......I only watch the show when I am really BORED.....

I believe it was Kate herself who chose ice cream for the kids' snack. If I recall correctly, she does a voiceover about how the kids were getting hungry and cranky during their private meeting with the princesses. The Disney people offered to get the kids a snack like popcorn. But because it was so hot, Kate decided vanilla ice cream would be best. She said she just didn't expect it to melt so quickly.

I just don't believe that she gets so uptight about ice cream dripped down a kid's shirt. I like Jon's comment about letting them bathe in it. Who cares if a 3 year old gets sticky?

I used to love this show but lately Kate really is showing her true colors. She abuses Jon and sits there during the interviews like she is so miserable, i cant believe she acts like this on t.v. Also what bugs me is the show is one big advertisement for companies for all the free products they receive such as the new washers & dryers, the vacations, etc......just cant relate to them anymore.

The show with the puppies also bugged me that she couldnt even get the kids involved in naming the puppies she already picked out the names. WTH! Alot of the kids were upset over this - i think it was wrong.

Not like they couldn't have found a dozen places to let the kids play in water to help wash it off.

I have 3 kids and I'm still not comfortable with sticky!! LOL That doesn't mean they don't get stick, I just grin and bear it. But sticky and snotty have yet to grow on me. :rotfl2:

And sometimes I hear myself sounding like Kate to my husband, so I don't like to judge her on that - its gotta be hard for a camera to catch your every comment.

On another Jon and Kate topic - I don't know if its true or not, but I read on another site today that there is trouble in paradise in their house and he was reportedly at a party with a few young college students drunk as a skunk saying he's getting divorced. I know these "enquirer" type stories are just that - but they often do have a ring of truth to them!!

Hey, maybe that is why Kate (some say) seemed so happy...they'll divorce and she'll only keep the kids that she likes.:lmao: Or maybe it was just cause he hasn't been home bugging her.:rotfl2: (Ok, I'm sorry I was just being mean.)

I love the show. I know Kate is hateful sounding to Jon however I think they do love each other.

A lot of those shows on TLC are making money off ads and stuff.

Little People Big World is making a fortune on their farm and selling dirt. Amy does speaking arrangements now.

The Duggars are the same way.

I liked watching J&K when they were more humble. With them buying a 1.2 million dollar house (she has the nerve to say "mine all mine" on the show, free trips, free plastic surgeries/hair implants, etc... it's getting very greedy. I read that you don't see the sister-in-law Jodi anymore because Kate did not want her to get paid for being on the show.

Also, making the kids upset by naming the dogs because she didn't want "stupid" dog names, and what about banning the kids from the parent's bedroom? I feel ill.....

I liked one of the earlier poster's comments about leaving a hot pile of mess on a new rug!! How is she going to handle all the dog fur and licky tongues?
