jon and kate

Can I just say did you notice Jon's new pierced ears...they were sparkly last night.

Looks like Kate got another perk paid for by the show, too, sure looks like new ****s to me!

So glad you wrote this. I thought she looked a little busty last night. Then I thought, well - she's footloose and fancy free now, so maybe she's showing off something she'd always covered?

My DDs noticed the earings .

I've talked to DDs about how messed up these kids are going to be when the camera's stop rolling and they fade into oblivion. What are they going to do when Oprah doesn't want to interview them and they no longer get to be in the rose garden area surrounded by princesses but in line at Pixie Hollow for 2.5 hours to see Tink. Such a shame......

This whole thing is just plain SAD!

I don't think Jon and Kate started this "just to make money"! They had a goal and as we all know things change!

Some men like to be told what to do and I think at first it didn't bother Jon and lets face it, he was like a little kid himself! He would have never just got the kids dressed and going on his own, it was decided by the 2 of them of who does what to be the most organised.

As far as all the "free" stuff, more power to them and any one else that can manage to get "free" stuff. Why all the negative if some one has managed to benefit their family?

I think at some point it is clear that all the "free" stuff comes with a price.

Right now, they're paying the price.

Saying the kids will be messed up, to me is a little harsh. I think we all should start to choose our words better.

Are you kidding me ? All these children have known all of their lives is camera men (probably extended family to them at this point) in their homes, on vacations, etc. Lets not even talk about all of the vacations that they've gotten to go to - plus TV shows they've been asked to do (have you ever met Oprah multiple times?).

Do you honestly think that they are going to come out of all of this unscathed? Being children they have no idea that normal-everyday people do not live lives like this, with these sort of opportunities handed to them on a silver platter just because they are multiples. Being children also, they cannot even compute if you explain to them that is not how most people live. I've tried to explain homless vets, abused children, etc. (people in unfortunate circumstances) to my DDs - they say they understand, but there is no way that their little minds can comprehend the realness of those situations (shoot, I've tried to tell my DDs that there are adults who have never seen the ocean -- they can't even wrap their minds around that!). I'm worried about what will happen to these children when all of the fan-fare dies down and mom & dad have to get real jobs, lives, etc. It's going to be quite shocking for them (the kids).

Would it make you feel better if I retracted the 'messed up' for 'will be in therapy for many, many years'?

Didn't expect to see this on the Budget board :confused3

Me either... however, my take on the show is that it's always been about the money - and whatever else Kate can get for free while putting down her husband and kids in front of millions of viewers - so perhaps this is exactly where it belongs.

Sorry I might have had some compassion for the two of them, if they had said "we are turning off the cameras to work on our marriage and go into counseling, we hope you respect our decision." Knew that wouldnt happen, but Id have atleast given them props for trying.

I dont know, Ive only watched it on and off when the marathons have been on and I was bored out of my head, so Im no expert. I will say, if I were Jon, Id have started drinking years ago, and turned to another woman too.....can you imagine sleeping with that ice queen......brrrrr!!!! Not that he gets off scott free...the man needs to grow a pair, and man up. As for the kids...lets face it, in ten years, they will be the new Lindsay Lohans of the world. Hope the money and fame will be worth what this will do to those kids.

I should preface this by saying that I've heard of J&K+8 but never really followed them. I watched the show when they went to Disney World for obvious reasons. :lovestruc

Does anyone else remember that show? So much for disney magic when Jon & Kate are involved. As I remember it...

They had multiple rooms at WL, were greeted with mouse ears and goodies. One of the older two girls was tired/adjusting after the trip and Kate was horrible to her (as usual, in Hawaii she left the same child alone in the room while they all went to the pool - my heart breaks for the older kids, not the cute little guys b/c they're really gonna need mega counseling).

Then, the family had a special private session with the princesses in the rose garden but it appeared the camera op was more important than feeding the kids. Kids are hungry and voice it so CMs bring the kids ice cream in response to whining which, of course, begins to melt in the heat dripping on an outfit or two. The meltdown Kate had after the first drips fell beats any I've seen from the worst three year old. How dare they ruin their outfits with ice cream, yada yada yada, and on back to WL they head...

What a shame that even something that should have been so magical ended so negatively. I mean really, in a normal family I'd expect most of us probably carry wet wipes and maybe even extra tshirt for the little ones in the stroller basket. Ironic, that they had assistants and a full crew with room for the cameras and gear, but not for a light totebag with a few extra kids clothes or extra snacks. They make millions, can't they afford to hit a gift shop? MK is full of them so they're certainly not hard to find. :confused3

One thing's for sure - they can invite my kids into the rose garden for ice cream with the princesses anytime. Heck, if neccessary, we'll head to the monorail all sticky in just our undies, but you definitely won't hear us complaining.:rolleyes1

I made the decision to stop watching it last year when they started showing signs of separation. I mean come on....they redid their vows and acted all lovey dovey, and put the show first. I won't watch it anymore, it's just too sad when a family with that many children throws in the towel. He could live in a different wing of the house, they could seek counseling, stop the show and get a normal life.....and a multitude of other changes might help, but they don't even look like they care about saving the marriage, it's all about the show now.

First let me say that I am not a big fan of this show. But the gloom and doom of this thread is silly.
The children appear to be happy kids. Kids bounce and if the show is over and the fame is gone, they will be fine. Kids all over the world have their lives changed and do just fine! Kate and Jon have worked and can work again and support their family.
Parents all over this country have kids they need help supporting. They might receive welfare, earned income credit, or some other government money that someone else had to work for and pay in.
And give me a break I have listened to and seen some of the worst parents yelling at their kids at WDW. So, all you perfect parents that never loose you cool with you kids, or all you perfect parents who have never taken a dime from the State or Government that you did not pay in, keep having fun bashing these parents.

There are many children that are born with the silver spoon and turn out to be fine. There are also many that are children of tv stars that are fine. Just because you are on tv and have money does not mean you must be messed up.

Messed up is Jon not being the adult he should be for the children instead of acting 18 and chasing 23 year olds. I'm thinking they will be tired of him soon and he'll be back groveling for Kate. I hope she doesn't take him back, marries a nice man that will treat her well and love her children and live the fairy tale life. They do exist, but I just don't think Jon is grown up enough to be that person. The reason Kate treats him like a child is that he acts like a child... probably why one of the twins is always whiney... she's acting like him! To Jon's defense, having a sports car or a motorcycle doesn't make you a bad person or a cheat... he chose to do that regardless of his possessions.

Oh Tag Fairy where are you? :rotfl:

hehehe... I guess that would be pretty funny...:tiptoe:***looks around to be sure nobody's watching***... Rest assured, I'm fairly certain that she hangs out over on the CB so I should remain invisible to the tag fairy as long as I'm here. Besides, I'm not THAT funny unless you're around to watch when I really goof up in person...***:sail:

The thing that struck me when I watched that episode is that it reminded me of me! My husband tends to not step up and be the father, unless I tell him what to do. For instance, if the kids needed napkins, I would have to ask him to get them napkins. With this many children, I give Kate credit for not having a meltdown every single day. She has to be somewhat bossy just to survive!:dance3::dance3:princess:princess:

I noticed this also. Looked like a perk to me!!

I am also thinking she got a tummy tuck (or whatever you call it now). There was a picture of her in a 2 piece swimsuit on a magazine cover, and I thought to myself, how did that happen :confused3. Didn't they do a show one time, where she showed what her belly looked like after carrying 6 babies?

That said, I tuned in last night because you could not miss the coverage. CNN announced their divorce last friday. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

My reaction: :scared1:

What the h@)) are these people doing to their kids??? That was AWFUL!!! They timed their divorce proceedings to coincide with their TV show. OMG, I've seen pathetic reality TV (MTV's "Real World" anyone?), but this takes the cake. These people have no dignity. They deserve all the negative publicity. And TLC should be embarrassed.

Wow. Since when is a family's disintegration a spectator's sport? Disgusting.
.

Real class act - huh? Yet there are still some that apparently don't think it was that big of a deal.. Wonder if those same people would do that to their own children - have their dirty laundry and divorce aired on tv for their children to look back on for years to come?

Sorry I might have had some compassion for the two of them, if they had said "we are turning off the cameras to work on our marriage and go into counseling, we hope you respect our decision." Knew that wouldnt happen, but Id have atleast given them props for trying.
.

I agree..

I suppose to make this "budget board related", we could all sit here and ponder how we would scrape by on the amount of money that has been made off of this show.. :confused3

I'm kind of surprised to see it here as well, but the OP is a budget-minded person who no longer has cable tv, so I assume she spends most of her time on the BB and that's why she asked the question here.. Believe it or not, some people never wander over to the CB..;)

Its amazing to me that you would admit that! Then again, if your like her, you will probably love the attention I just gave you.....feel sorry for your hubby. Im assuming he is also an adult and probably could figure out if your kids needed napkins.

I have to wonder, I used to think the show Bridezilla was just a put on, that women like that really didnt exsist, and treat their supposed soul mates like they do on that show....but lately after reading on here and other boards...Im starting to think its real! How scary is that!
