Jon and Kate are not going to change.

look at archived pages on their website, watch old episodes of the show .. then look at them now. They've already changed.

But, who wouldn't, in their shoes? I'm sure we all would.

But, in light of this growing controversy, they haven't spoken out against the rumors. Nor have friends who know them, to say these things aren't true. Where are the people that know Jon & Kate now? Anyone... clergy, former coworkers, neighbors? Why haven't they or don't they speak out?

People just wont listen.

Go check out all the posts on the Reading Eagle for starters. Those posts started before the Tv show. So no one was "jealous" posting those posts.
People talk all the time, but the fans refuse to acknowledge them.

Yep, I've researched The Who because they're one of my favorite bands. I've researched Disney to plan a good trip. Not Boy Meets World. That's the point - people can research whatever they want. Putting down people's opinions and saying they're wrong because they haven't "researched" a bunch of rumors about a random reality show is ridiculous. People can form their opinions on something as simple as this just from watching the show. It isn't rocket science. You really need to stop. Disagreeing is one thing but continuously attacking people and their opinions is going to get this thread shut down. People disagreed before this but there weren't any major problems until you showed up. The fact that you've only ever posted in this thread is very suspicious. You're more than welcome here, but you need to calm down and learn to communicate with people who disagree with you without attacking them or continuously jumping down their throats or you're going to ruin it for everyone.

If you research something and find it to be true, it is no longer a rumor. It is fact.

My opinion of J&K has changed slightly over time, but when someone is trying to cram constant accusations down my throat, that they can't back-up, it makes me want to defend J&K even more.

I think the previous dialogue we had was a pleasant and meaningful one, and I agree with Camster, we need to ignore.

I think so too. Both lovers and haters of the show have been posting for a while and while both sides may not fully understand each other's points of view or reasoning, it's remained a respectful discussion. Replying to every single person's post by saying, "No, you're wrong" is completely pointless and is just going to make people mad. It needs to stop, and return to a respectful discussion.

This is a great question that has been asked repeatedly. Where are the people who KNOW and love them. Why aren't they defending them? I do not hate Kate, obviously, I don't know her. These children becoming an isolated, circus side show upsets me...maybe I'm silly.

It does seem strange. For some reason the family seems to be isolating themselves more and more from family and friends, for whatever reason. Hopefully the kids going to school will help them come out of the TV "bubble" and be able to relate to other kids.

I would venture to guess that once the tups are in school full time, the show will end - unless Kate homeschools them (and I don't think she has it in her to do that).

Well, one reason could be that no one on "their" side wants to dignify the rumors with any of their own remarks. I know that's what I was always taught.

I just want to point out, as has been pointed out many times, what you see on TV is not the entire picture. We have no clue if the kids are being issolated or not. Just because something is not shown does not mean it isn't happening.

Can someone tell me how to add this CottonCandy person to my ignore list?

Click on "UserCP" at the upper left of this screen and then select "Buddy/Ignore List" (under Miscellaneous) from the "Control Panel" options on the left of the screen. From that screen you may add usernames to your list of those you wish to ignore and you will no longer see their posts.

but at some point, the silence becomes deafening.

I don't think Jon & Kate need to post a video on their blog or anything ... but, I do think their (the PR team's?) version of damage control via the TV show isn't really working. Nor will a fluff piece in Good Housekeeping.

But, from their point of view - why would they care about the nasty rumors? The show is bringing in great ratings and I think that's the bottom line for them.

that's a very good point, as well. I know I wouldn't have the stomach to know people were saying all that stuff about me if it wasn't true. I don't know why it would upset me, but it would.
