Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

There was one episode when Nana Joan stayed with the kids. They were in the playroom and Hannah threw up because she was crying so much. One of the other girls kept saying, "Clean it up" and when someone in the back asked who had done it, she said, "Hannah did, Hannah frew up"

I don't see anything wrong with the twins sitting by themselves at the park. Face it, every time they go out as a family they probably get stared with all the attention on the little ones. It probably gets annoying for a seven year old to constantly have to deal with that.[/QUOTE]

Yeah but then shouldn't that be a big blaring sign that maybe it is time to shut the cameras off and stop this show? I used to watch this show but I no longer do. I don't agree with how far it goes. If Kate wants to scream about spills and stains all day that is her choice but when the kids do not want to be filmed (like when they are going on the potty) I just think that is horrible.
I may not agree with all of their parenting ideas and that is fine, I think they are doing a great disservice to these kids with this show.

Even without the cameras around the sextuplets are going to get attention. Cara and Mady seem very close. If they are happiest sitting with one another, I don't think there is any long term damage going on.

and coming next week: Jon's hair transplant
I thought he looked like he had new growth.

I have seen this thread many times but never read it. I watched this show for the first time the other night. Actually there was like four or five on in a row. I am not trying to be rude or anything but, do either of them have jobs? Just curious!

Kate used to work as a nurse but when the babies were around a year she quit the part time work she was still doing to stay home full time. John was an IT analyst, but I believe he now devotes himself full-time to their speaking engagements and other things they are involved in. I think it's great they have found a way to support themselves while devoting so much time to the kids! The dad of the McCoy septuplets did the same thing for a few years.

The boops questions was cute. But I have to say it is time to keep the cameras out of the bathroom. They have never shown the older girls in the bath/shower, using the toilet but they never seem to stop showing the little girls/boys.

I agree! Especially with all of the sickos in the world. Bath time and getting dressed should only be done off camera.

Jon still does some kind of computer/IT work but now it's from home. He said this allows a much more flexible schedule so he can do stuff with Kate and the kids.

See, I am confused by this. In one episode, Jon said he was going to work for Beth's husband and would have more flexibility and be able to make his own hours, thus being home more. About two episodes later, he said he created his own company and now works from home completely.

Well, whatever they are doing so he can be home more is great, IMO!

I always assumed he was still talking about working for Beth's husband...

I'm sure this has been asked on this thread but I'm too lazy too read through all the posts - where are both sets of grandparents? I can't figure out if they're deceased, just don't want to be part of the show, or they actually are not involved with them. And Aunt Jody - is she Kate's sister? John's? Married to the brother of one of them?

I'm trying to catch up with the marathon today.

The only thing I know about the grandparents is that Jon's father is deceased. And Aunt Jodi is married to Kate's brother, Kevin.

Kate's brother Kevin is married to aunt Jody

The only thing that has been said is that the grand parents are not a part of their lives. I do know that Kate's parents were involved during the pregnancy with the 6. What/when the fallout happened has not been publicly acknowledged.
Recently Kate did say something on one of the episodes that I assumed was aimed at her parents and Jon's mother. Basically she said it was nice that there were people who love the kids for who they are instead of what they are, and that some family only now want to know them because of what they are.

Ouch! That's what I was afraid of, since there is NEVER mention of the grandparents! Even if they didn't want to be part of the show you'd think even the words "grandma & grandpa" would come up every now & then, unless there's something bitter/unresolved/whatever between them. I had heard also that John's father was deceased.

They used to show Jon's grandmother, but they haven't shown her in a while either. I think the last time was the sextuplet's 3rd birthday. I remember Kate gushing about his grandmother's Korean cooking

ugh.....had to turn off tonight's episode, I didn't need to see a blob of John's skin being removed...:crazy2:

Yeah, it's pretty gross.

God bless Aunt Jody. That woman needs a medal for aunt/sister-in-law/mother of the year. My GOSH. And does she look FABULOUS for having four kids or what?

Ok, now I am really big Jon and Kate supporters, but leaving all of those kids, as sick as they were, for three days so he could have a free hair transplant?? Also, as a PP mentioned, they travel quite a bit to do talks at churches in the area. Who is with the kids then?

Man, I wish my brother had married Jody.

Did you notice on the previews for next week, they showed their wedding? Whoever was walking with Kate had their face blocked out. (her father perhaps?)
