MichelleWV ... any tips for me about Pop Century? We're staying there this week!!

Not directed toward me, (MichelleWV was just there I know) but we love POP! We liked the lake view rooms in the 60's building. Good food court, good pools and reliable transportation. For us, two connecting rooms (5 people) has been perfect and affordable. Have a GREAT trip.

You are lucky!! It's my favorite value resort!! It's ALOT smaller than the rest of the values. We paid extra for a preferred room in March and in my opinion it was not worth it. The resort is not that big, so even if you are in the furthest room, it's not that far.

Avoid the food court at peak hours obviously, but at lunch it's quiet!

I should have looked at your signature more closely!

We've never stayed there and are really looking forward to it. I have 3 kids, but one is in college and won't be joining us for this trip. It's our first time choosing a resort with only 4 of us in the room, we're usually at POR, the Dolphin, or offsite.

This thread has always remained civil, for the most part. I've said time and time again that it amazes me that it hasn't been locked.

If they "lock" this thread down, they might as well do the same to all the political threads. Everyone has opinions, and some people just go a little far with it, but still, it's an opinion on a subject just as everything else.
I don't care to read the bickering on the political threads, so I don't even bother going to them.

Back to the gum issue, What is the big deal that she couldn't have just thrown the sock away? I'm sure it was just among the free items she receives anyway. I couldn't tell you how many things I've had to throw away:
Towels and rags that were too much puked on to bother cleaning, a sock that lost his match, a dust rag that was worn out after all the cleaning, a pen that no longer writes, clothes that tore or ripped.
So what she had to throw out a sock, go buy another pair for $2.00.

I think money was the issue with Jodi, and also with Beth. How truly sad. And it's quite possible that Jodi and Beth still wanted to be a part of the kids' lives, but weren't allowed to because of the ******* between them and J & K.

Won't it be incredibly awkward when the book comes out, co-authored by Beth, and they are no longer speaking (allegedly)? If they have press to do for it, would Beth appear? If they do TV interviews about the book, I wonder if the interviewer will ask the very obvious questions about Jodi and Beth disappearing so suddenly.

it's not the sock that people get upset about as much as the one boy's lovey. Kate very matter of factly said it had gum on it, she couldn't get it out, and had to throw it away. Hysterics and sobbing ensued.

So what is it called then when people see something that isn't right in front of them? Many of the Kate bashers create their own scenerios about what's going on, what Kate "meant" and so on, based on their own assumptions and not what is really being shown on the show. That group is very much a cult of their own.

I watch the show and yes there are times I don't agree with something that they do or say, but I also find that some of the things that some people complain about are pretty petty. The extremes go both ways and I don't fit in either of them.

Personally, I hate that term 'sheeple'. It's an easy way for people that don't agree with someone else to make the other person look like they don't know what they are talking about. If you discredit what someone is saying because they don't agree with you, it doesn't automatically make you right, except in your own mind.

No different than referring to people as bashers or claiming that people that do not like Kate are jealous. There's been PLENTY of negativity on this thread towards people that do not think the sun rises and sets over Kate Gosselin.

She did throw the socks away. Well, the cameras showed her putting socks in the trash can. That doesn't mean she didn't fish them out later and rub 'em down with organic peanut butter.

Isn't that 90% of DIS posts that call for opinions, though?? Aside from asking a question that has a factual answer (i.e., what time does MK open on Tuesdays), people will go back and forth. Even when there is a definite answer, someone will no doubt argue that MK opened at noon the Tuesday they were there in 1982, so it doesn't always open at the time a PP said it did. For example, I remember on a thread about Samantha Brown's Favorites (on Travel Channel), one poster was very, very upset that Samantha said fireworks close every day at MK. She said when she was there, there were no fireworks one night and that Samantha shouldn't be spreading false rumors over the airwaves. Nature of the internet. People aren't afraid to argue.

It's probably been asked before (but I don't feel like huntin' for it) but WHY do they need a new house? What's wrong with the one they're in? Didn't they just spend (like within the last 18 mos or so) a buttload of cash (theirs or the network's) to remodel the garage and a portion of the attic for Madie/Cara's room? And didn't they just get new carpet?

I am seriously confused. It seems to me the house they are living in is just fine for their needs. But I am not Kate, so what do I know?

Kids just get bigger...and when there are eight, space is definitely an issue. There are just three people in our house, and I'm constantly wishing I had more space.

Jon&Kate have said from the begining of the show that wanted to move south. I also believe it was said that they wanted to do so before the 6 started school.
