Maybe we should invite her to join the disscussion, LOL, so the anti-duck out number the ducks again.

We should invite her. I agree...seeing how Kate organizes helps give me ideas. We are actually in the process of cleaning out a corner of the garage to put racks for shoes, coats and book bags. We have battled small closets in our house since we moved in! This will give us more room on the closet floor. Also, if shoes are removed in the garage the house might stay a bit cleaner!

I'm from South Cackalacky (near Charlotte NC) and I say riled up. Kate's garage always reminds me that my husband and I need to get ourselves out there and clean up ours. It's a mess!

I'm from NYC and we say riled up! I didn't think it was a regional thing.

I'm from Detroit and I say riled up, too. But I think I may have picked it up from my Kentucky born-and-raised grandparents. :goodvibes

I wish I was from South Cackalacky! What a fun name to say! I think it would be hard to say it without dancing a little bit.

I'm from a suburb of Buffalo and we say "riled up" too. As in, "Please don't get the kids all riled up right before bed!" I say that almost nightly.

Has anyone seen the pic and review of the show in this week's ENT WEEKLY? The picture of the septs is really bad. Some of them look...well...doped up. One of the girls I don't even recognize. Kate shoulda got pic approval, as she will not be happy.

Was this the picture you're talking about? It was from the website. I think it was from the episode where they went to the park and then for ice cream.

It just goes to show that no matter what, people find a reason to rip on this family.

I'm not a fan of J&K, but enough is enough with the backlash that is dished out to them.

People get a life.

World of difference!! We started having people take shoes off in the front hall when we remodeled. Ridiculously cleaner carpet these days!!

If I had Kate's huge full basement, I'd be astoundingly organized!!! Yes, I've been cleaning/organizing things the last few weeks, too. I cleaned out a cabinet above the compter desk. I got rid of maybe 50 boxes of kid's software that ran on Windows 98, plus the instructions for computers we no longer own.

we've done this since we bought our first home but ever since our carpet cleaning guy mentioned that it would actualy work even better if we would all just wear a pair of clean socks or some 'in house only' slippers the cleanliness is even more amazing (apparantly the oil and persperation in your bare feet dirties the carpet too). i wear the 'spa socks' bath and body works sells-and the kiddos each have a pair of el cheapo walmart slippers they slip on.

if we're sharing organizing tips i'll pass on one that's been a life saver for us-i took one of my large laundry baskets and parked it next to the door we exit out in the morning. anything that has to go to school (including gloves, hats and scarves) go into it. in the morning we pull out anything they have to wear and they put it on-otherwise the basket gets put into the car (no bus service). i leave the thing in my car so when i pick up everything they are schlepping home goes into it so it's all carried into the house. i grab the lunch bags out to clean them when the get home and grab the stuff that won't go back the next day. having it all in one container has saved so many trips back out to the car to find something or a frantic call from school that they've forgotten something:thumbsup2

We went to visit BIL & SIL about a year after they'd built their new home. They didn't allow shoes on their hardwoods, so we all wore socks. But then we'd go downstairs to the basement, and the finish of the floor would put holes in the socks, so you'd have to take them off. Then you'd want to go outside and you'd have to go all over the house to find shoes and socks. I couldn't live like that!

For the people that worry that the kids are filmed 24/7.

Want to watch? Jessica Barkley of Shelby will appear in several episodes of "Jon and Kate Plus Ei8ht" starting Monday at 9 p.m. on the TLC network.

SHELBY - Eight doesn't seem like that big of a number. As far as birthday's go, you're looking more forward to 10. Eight doesn't roll off the tongue like a dozen. Fingers and toes combined, you've got way more than eight. But eight children in a pool all looking to you for instruction ... well, eight gets some respect.

Jessica Barkley, better known in her hometown of Shelby by her maiden name, Koenig, is at home in the water. She's been a lifeguard, a swim teacher and competitive swimmer.

She was working her second summer in Ocean Rescue at Corolla Beach in the Outer Banks when she heard about some special visitors.

Jon and Kate Gosselin, along with their 8-year-old twin daughters, Mady and Cara, and their 4-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel were staying at a nearby beach house.

"Cool," Jessica thought. She had been watching a lot of the family's show "Jon and Kate Plus Ei8ht" on the TLC network.

Only a day or so later, her supervisor Sylvia told Jessica she'd been given the task of teaching the twins and sextuplets to swim.

"Sylvia told me, you know they're looking for someone to teach the kids to swim," Jessica said. "Then it was, and you're going!"

Jessica and Sylvia spent two weeks with the family. The first week, the television show's film crew was there to record all the action. The second week it was just the family. But the children didn't note the difference.

"The camera didn't make any difference. They acted the same when the cameras were gone. I thought they might have been more hyper being filmed ... but no, that's them!" Jessica laughed.

The producer asked Jessica questions as the children continued their lessons.

"What was the progress? Was there a difference between the boys and girls? Was it as crazy as we expected?" Jessica listed.

Just as Jessica had seen on the show, Kate was super organized while it seemed Jon would go with the flow.

"Kate had everything stacked ... each kid had their floaties, all the towels stacked up, everyone had their certain color, they each had their certain toy," Jessica said. "You'd see Jon bringing out this box of floaties."

After lessons (imagine a 4-year-old's energy times six) Jessica said she and Sylvia would be exhausted.

"We'd get in the car and look at each other a go 'we need a nap.'" she said.

At the end of the two weeks, Jessica left with more than a new and deep appreciation for the energy of 4-year-olds. "The family gave me this signed picture with 'thank you' on it," Jessica said.

lol:rotfl:if that is how you feel why are you reading the thread?:lmao:

I also don't get the Jon is a Saint thing either. I mean he seems like a nice guy...lots of the same qualities as my husband. But the thing that drives me crazy about my DH seems to be one of Jon's faults also. He doesnt move fast enough to deal with three kids. I end up snapping at him becuase I ask for help. You know something like--"can you make the kids a sippy of milk." By the time he does it I could have milked a cow.

IMO Kate is blunt. I don't think people like blunt women.

LOL....sooooo true about milking the cow!!!! LOL............I totally know what you mean!!!

Me, too. So many wives have husbands who aren't helpful...it's time to get ready to go somewhere, and HE is ready, so he sits at the computer while wife gets herself AND all the kids ready....so, how many wives would sound genuinely sweet and loving on TV when asking hubby to get off his dear little touche and help a few kids get dressed?

One time we took the kids to Six Flags when they were quite young. DH left me with all the kids in Loony Tunes Land for 2 hours while he rode all the thrill rides....now, is there a way to react to him on his return that would NOT sound witchy on TV? I really don't think so.

I knew after reading that post about the picture it would be a matter of time before someone would have some comment to make about it.

Its obvious if you don't have anything positive to say, certainly don't say it on this thread. After all, J&K are absolutely perfect  .

So no one is allowed to comment about a negative remark? IMHO the "doped up" comment was way over the top. However I held my tongue because I knew the cries of "we can't say anything if it isn't positive" would start up.
No it isn't obvious that "if you don't have anything positive to say certainly don't say it on this thread."
Most recent example is the comment Kate made last week about the sunset. Many of us were unhappy with that and said so.
Care to point out where anyone has said that either Jon or Kate is perfect? In fact I can point to several examples where we have said just the opposite. I take that back. There are some who claim Jon is perfect but they are the Kate bashers.
